Mexican "Official" Talks about NAU

Apparently Mexicans have been settling in the "American Union" for nearly 15 years!

- Mexico’s Sub-Secretary of Foreign Relations for North America, Carlos Rico Ferrat, emphasized the Mexican government’s concern due to the anti-migrant climate being experienced in the United States and also because of the roundups of the “undocumented ones.” He said those actions originate family disintegration and financial breakdown for hundreds of Mexican families. Although he acknowledged that the immigration issue can be temporarily relegated in the United States because of electoral reasons, he pointed out that that country must attend to it because it has 12 million immigrants, half of them Mexicans, living illegally within its territory. In his opinion, the migratory debate must incorporate all the economic and social contributions which migrants bring about to American life.
He added that the roundups concern Mexico due to their degree of complexity since they affect persons settled ten or fifteen years ago in the “American Union.”
