Secret Plan To Kill Internet By 2012 Leaked?
Some question if report that pay-per-view system to be introduced is a hoax, but wider march to regulate the web is documented

ISP's have resolved to restrict the Internet to a TV-like subscription model where users will be forced to pay to visit selected corporate websites by 2012, while others will be blocked, according to a leaked report. Despite some people dismissing the story as a hoax, the wider plan to kill the traditional Internet and replace it with a regulated and controlled Internet 2 is manifestly provable.

"Bell Canada and TELUS (formerly owned by Verizon) employees officially confirm that by 2012 ISP's all over the globe will reduce Internet access to a TV-like subscription model, only offering access to a small standard amount of commercial sites and require extra fees for every other site you visit. These 'other' sites would then lose all their exposure and eventually shut down, resulting in what could be seen as the end of the Internet," warns a report that has spread like wildfire across the web over the last few days.

By 2012

and that amount of time, and the concerns involved here, I'd expect some enterprising individuals to come up with a fully wireless internet that worked like a large version of WiFi, and totally eliminated the needs for these Telcos and cable companies products altogether.
They'd get real rich, and everybody but the corporate gangsters would be happy.

Wouldn't that be a kick in their corporate asses!

Are you IT geeks looking for something interesting to do?

Exactly

That's what I'm doing. But I have a head start ... say 4 years ...

Exactly

I posted a few links for people who are techies to get their communities their own ISP. I hope they don't make the free internet illegal, but I've seen this government ask for some crazy things. People are so asleep today I could see the government trying to slip one underneath their eyes, maybe trying to "protect" the people and put up some bogus act that sounds reasonable or maybe heroic, like the "Patriot" Act and takes away our freedom.

A cable guy came to fix my modem last friday

And I asked him about the new internet coming out. He said, yeah there is a new internet coming and its already been shown in a conference in Chicago. He said its enormously powerful and fast (I think he said 500 megabytes/second). So, I asked him is there any security issues with this new faster internet. He said, well it would be alot easier to track and find people because it was so much faster. The fact is internet 2.0 is coming, how they are going to track you and charge you is discussed in the article above (Internet tax, "stamp" for e-mails, etc.). I would ask anyone who wants to fight their plan then get your own network. Here is a good link for a community based network: http://www.bbwexchange.co...

Internet 2 is not what this

Internet 2 is not what this thread is discussing. Internet 2 is a network designed to be used for scientific/academic purposes. From what I recall, it is a very high bandwidth network that will connect various universities, laboratories, etc. The reason for very high speed/bandwidth is for sharing of huge amounts of scientific data.

Internet 2 might connect to the commercial Internet, Internet 1 - but it's not simply going to replace Internet 1. That is not to say that Internet 1 will not get faster - services such as Verizon FIOS enable much faster and high bandwidth over the current network.

No ...

Internet 2 is being tested between universities and some large corporations. It was designed to completely replace internet 1. Not that I'm at all concerned about this thread. I wish it would stop popping up so much as it is simply a red herring.

If they pull the internets

If they pull the internets - I'm gonna sell my computer on ebay. I've got an ipods btw.
'I always think of all you canvassors and precinct leaders and delegates at the front line and caucuses.
Good luck out there &Thank you. You're a gift.

I agree with he

I agree with the naysayers--nothing the globalist/fascists do anymore shocks me, but if they could control the Internet, they would have already done it by now.

Hoax or not

Here are the realities.

They can't even figure out full tracking on internet 2 yet; a beast engineered for such a thing from the start. It's almost impossible to account for all the overhead that such tracking will cause - even at the very local level that i2 is at currently.

Combine that failure with the wilder system we have now. If it's hard to control a system set up for control, it's infinitely harder to control a system setup to stay free and route around such problems.

Another point.

If the net somehow does go down, they would have had to convince every little ISP and independent backbone provider to go along with it. They haven't even started approaching us. If they are not approaching tier one providers by now, you can be assured that they will not be able to get this done by 2012. They needed to start rolling this out in 2004.

Now let's just say all of that somehow happens. How are they going to prevent people from using the old style tcp/ip from making their own private internet? Did you know that with mesh based systems you could make a private net that spans most of this nation, is completely portable, has no central routing source, self heals connection drops, and that can form networks adhoc -- keeping traffic anonymous? Did you know that it aggregates it's bandwidth and that the over all network speed increases as more nodes are added to it?

And how many people have forgotten about the BBS? Feds had a worse time tracking down these easy to create private networks than they do even now.

In short, the death of the net as we know it, from subsidized Government approved Entities, and the birth of freelance roaming and totally anonymous private Entities is a welcome one. It can only get better. No need to fear here.

dude where do you live?

i'm always looking to learn new things. and you my friend seem to on top of this internet thing. i'm 33 and only by being in the army for 3 years around a bunch of youngsters did i learn how to slightly use a computer.

reading your post makes me want to sign up for computer classes.

Michigan

I live in Michigan, where no one bothers to bother me. As for computer classes, my best advice would be to learn how to install linux on an older throw away machine, and then learn all you can about networking and security with it.

I started on my own when I was around 14 (I'm 30 now btw), reading through manuals, soldering things, programming by the seat of my pants, and generally poking things until I knew how to work them. I ran my own BBS several years before the internet came to my neighborhood; I was in Indiana at that time. I had the fortune of having a father and mother that pulled me out of school mid fourth grade and let me unschool when it was completely illegal to even homeschool back then.

So basically, if you have the knack, just dive in.

If they control the net

I think I will take a sludge hammer to my computer let out some frustration.
Doubt that I could afford my electric bill anyway. Peace

If true, the ISP's will also die

There is too much money in keeping the internet going for this too happen. If we are restricted then what is the point to have an internet connection? ISP's will fight this if they know what's good for them.

That

That may be their plan but otherwise, there is some rumor that in this same year 2012 there will be a major positive event because the earth is going to pass the equator of the milky way. As consequence the energy field of the earth will be influenced by the energy field of the milky way with positive consequences for human minds. So I think perhaps while it is planned a horrible event - this internet stuff -, there is going to be a positive event - perhaps something even better than the internet ?? - , and I will focus my mind on the positive possibilities of this year.:-)
I wouldn´t know what to do, too.
