regardless...
The technicalites of future state conventions, whether there are any or not, these sort of announcements always spike his MSM face time 10 fold. Curious minds will enquire, others will be reminded of a statesman called Ron Paul.
I just have to say
that I am more pumped up now than I have ever been about this movement! In my eyes for Ron Paul, it never really was about winning the presidency, but rather about finding victory for his message. For so many of the other candidates, I felt as though they were merely using their campaigns to make statements about whether or not a woman or a black man could be voted into office, and there was never really a message of substance as Ron Paul has had. How frustrating that our public, so caught up in imagery and appearance in the era of celebrities and debutants, bought in to this horse and pony show.
We AMERICANs need to move past the black/white/rich/poor/male/female observation of eachother, and start calling eachother AMERICANs. We are not African-American, European-American, Mexican-American, Asian-American or whatever it may be. We are AMERICAN. TOGETHER we must work towards our common goals, put the best people in the best places, not because of their race, gender, age or status, but because of their ability.
We can't continue to play the game that the media and the government want from us. We must stay united and stay smart to spread the voice of freedom. Everyone has their breaking point at which they've had enough. Many of us are at ours, or have been for some time. It is our job to be there for other American's when they reach the point at which they can take no more. No more oppression, no more "games", no more lies, and no more cheating us of the liberties our founders worked so hard for us to have.
Our inheritance was freedom and liberty, and our "fathers" would be sad to see these gifts placed at the mercy of others. It will certainly take time for others to come around, to join our revolution, but in time it will come. One thing I'm sure of is that the media is truly underestimating the impact and proportion of this movement. That or they are very aware, very scared, and are afraid to let the rest of the public know what is happening.
Stay strong patriots, be patient, and don't give up your hope for America. We have a responsibility to our country, our ancestors, our future generations, and to eachother! LONG LIVE THE REVOLUTION!!!!!

Wow!!
Over half a million views in 10hrs!!!!!!!!
I was a little sad
last night because I was really hoping he would stick it out until the convention, but then I thought and I have no idea and I haven't researched it but if McCain would have gotten the offical nom would RP be required to give his campaign money to McCain? (I thought I heard about this during primary season could have just been a rumor) If not then I'm sure they would write a law for that the Rep. Party has been extra shady towards him...I know DUH. If I did hear that rumor correctly or if he got wind of this shennagan then he is truly looking out for us and didn't want our money to go to McCain and lets not forget he could have just put it towards his congressional run like most poloticians would do. Ron Paul is going to do great things with this new campaign, but more importantly so are we. Also even if McCain were to become ill Romney would swoop back in its not like the MSM or the country would recgonize RP as the offical nominee anyway. I'm going to take this weekend to be a little mopey, send out an email with the link for the Campaign for Liberty, and put my Ron Paul represents me sticker on my car but then its time to get back to work. It was a great speech last night, and he seemed really happy. Have a nice weekend everyone.
This is what we need to work on
545 PEOPLE
By Charlie Reese
Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.
Have you ever wondered why, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, we have deficits?
Have you ever wondered why, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, we have inflation and high taxes?
You and I don't propose a federal budget. The President does.
You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.
You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does.
You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does.
You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.
One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices, 545 human beings out of the 300 million, are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country
I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.
I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician 1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.
Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.
What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits. The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.
The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House? She is the leader of the majority party. She and fellow House members, not the President, can approve any budget they want. If the President vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.
It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.
If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair.
If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red.
If the Marines are in IRAQ , it's because they want them in IRAQ .
If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way.
The fact is there are no insoluble government problems.
Why do we let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like "the economy," "inflation," or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.
Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible
They, and they alone, have the power.
They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses, provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees.
We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!
wow! beautifully put.
:)
sounded good

but the site crashed on me after the first two minutes or so. I hope somebody youtubes it.
Fortune Favors the Bold
What about delegates going to Nat'l?
I think he should have waited to shut his campaign down until after the convention (sometime in mid-November would have been ideal). I can't imagine what the RP delegates going to MN must think. I am also in denial that that "campaign shutdown" is not the same as withdrawing from the race, cuz if McCain drops dead (they have west nile virus in MN don't they?) I would hope RP can still be a contender.
I'm still not sure why he didn't come right out and say in his speech what he posted on his site. Either he was afraid of an aweful sound bite going into heavy rotation on MSM, or he just chickened out in front of a packed convention hall concerned they would start a riot.
I know, I know it's not about RP - I just wanted to see him go all the way to November, to hell with the probabilities or the MSM coverage or anyone else claiming it to be absurd. It would be like an old fashioned sit-in. He's just THERE. He won't LEAVE. But he has left, and that's unfortunate. Staying would have garnered the movement much more exposure than his new liberty site is going to get in the same timeframe.

where is all this baby crap
where is all this baby crap coming from? about being betrayed by dr. paul and the campaign .. stop crying ... pick up your signs and your books and do what dr. paul has been doing for 30 years ... until you die ...
that's what a revolution is
I'm going to do it and so should you ... we don't have time to bs while freedom and liberty are under attack
ron has not abandoned us ... so don't abandon him ...
he is creating an organization to promote our ideals and restore our government .... help us fight ... and stop posting telling us that your feelings are hurt ...
i am not happy with the suspension, but dr. paul will continue to lead the way ... it isn't about him ... it's about freedom and liberty ... we are blessed to have a great man guiding us ... he is old and cannot live forever ... if there are any words anyone should have for him
they are: Thank you Dr. Paul, for standing up for all of us when no one else would. We will carry on with the message you so fiercly have fought for all of your life. God Bless You Dr. Paul!
Exactly
all they're trying to do is divide, it's a old tactic. This site isn't for bellyachers. The R3VOLUTION will continue!
Ron Paul Is My President
I don't live in his district, but in Congress, Ron Paul represents ME!
I am Ron Paul!!!
God bless you, Dr. Paul. Excellent speech. Great energy; all fired up and rarin' to go! As are we: just LOOK:

I just can't give up the sound of
President Paul
Who sais Ron Paul can't be
OUR president.We will just elect
him at OUR convention!!
who does ron paul endorse for president?
only anti-iraq candidates, please.
no blood on my hands.
how about:
Andrew Napolitano-anti-abortion libertarian republican
Chuck Hagel-libertarian-leaning conservative per ontheissues.org and against Iraq war
jeff flake-member of the liberty caucus, against iraq war
barry goldwater, jr.-endorsed ron paul, for limited government
lou dobbs-for gay marriage rights, against iraq war (?)
Karen Kwiatkowski-registered libertarian, against iraq war
Michael Badnarik-libertarian nominee for president 2004
lew rockwell-libertarian commentator/activist
mike gravel-against iraq, ended draft, for legalization of drugs
Gary Johnson-for legalization of drugs
Dennis Kucinich-legalization of drugs, against iraq war, for legalizing same-sex marriage
John Stossel-libertarian journalist
walter williams-libertarian economist, suggested by ron paul
russell means-ardent libertarian
jacob hornberger-libertarian founder of the future of freedom foundation
Better do some more research
Chuck Hagel...he is my senator from Nebraska who co-sponsored the Global Poverty bill with Obama and also is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. And votes with the Neocons all to often. He is far form being a Libertarian.
Not Barry Goldwater
Barry Goldwater Jr. came and spoke to the Orange County Lincoln Club and advocated voting for John McCain.
Great speech tonight!! Never give up, never give up, never give up!
I have decided
to end my small campaign for Ron Paul. Once again I felt the momentum building for a last ditch effort to win the election with the March on Washington DC, and the Mini Convention in Minnesota, by a massive write-In vote in November. but once again my spirit and enthusiasm has been deflated by Ron Paul himself, and his Campaign. I couldn't believe it when I read his website saying he was dropping out of the race. I truly believe we could have pushed him over the top, as conditions became worse in our country in the months ahead, as they no doubt will. The Revolution has gone bust as far as I'm concerned, Bye! ( Oh, and thank you "Main Stream Media" for killing the one small chance we had to turn this country around. We had a man of honesty and integrity, and you mocked, ignored and ridiculed him at every turn. I hope you are all very proud of yourselves )
The Campaign Continues!
As Dr. Paul said himself - he's been campaigning for Liberty since 1974. He's not quitting now, and he's never going to quit!

Yawn.
He is ending his campaign but that doesn't mean he's stopping.
But you are, right?

It really makes sense
why keep fighting a brick wall...what a waste of energy.
Now he can do something productive ..like get some of that evil hemp and make a rope to climb over it.
and I'm leaving my sign's up and my sticker's on!
Ron Paul !
The DP is proof that the grassroots support for Ron Paul and his peaceful message of individual liberty is large, real, and not going away!
ronpaul2008 shouldn't be about a political election as much
as it should be the marking point in history when the people decided to recommit themselves to the cause of liberty. The elections are untrustworthy and our media is unfair. Imo this revolution might take many forms before it's over. This sham election wasn't the only ride in town....the people are waking up and the tide is beginning shift

"I killed the banks"
I agree. This is only the beginning.
I agree. This is only the beginning and I'm pumped!
How naive were we to think that we could knock common sense in all the American voters in just 17 months?
Our Freedom movement is just going to snowball as time goes on. People are sick and tired of our current system of government and it's just a matter of time until our natural desire for Freedom enters a tipping point.
Those Federal Reserve bankers, Neo-Cons, and political criminals don't realize what's ahead for them... History shows that people can only handle so much tyranny before they uprise. I smell an uprising and I'm proud to say that us Ron Paul supporters are the pioneers of the second American Revolution.
Forget about this election...As long as we keep spreading the message and educating the people we'll win the upcoming revolution and live in a free and prosperous country
Common sense will prevail! We will win!

Either I'm deaf or dumb but...
I didn't hear a word of concession in THAT speech. Something is brewing, I can smell it.
www.drugpricelookup.com
This guy didn't hear it either.
First paragraph of this article:
http://www.thebulletin.us/site/index.cfm?newsid=19771019&BRD...
dated today reads:
Ron Paul, the Republican presidential candidate who has yet to end his White House bid, had high praise for Bob Barr, the former Republican Congressman from Georgia who is now the Libertarian presidential candidate, but fell short of an outright endorsement.
You are not deaf
or dumb, just perceptive.
The R3VOLution Continues!
To the chagrin of many-a-disinfo-troll, the Ron Paul R3VOLution continues!
UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE: THE REVOLUTION WILL CONTINUE
What an inspiring speech! Ron Paul is such a gifted communicator. His plain-spoken common sense is like a salve to the wounded trust of the good people of the united States.
He didn't end his campaign. He began a new campaign, the Campaign for Liberty.
By the way, the Ron Paul for President grassroots campaign doesn't have to end, does it?

Rhetoric from just another politician.
I'm disgusted with the entire sham.
Truthy! Come on now! I mean really...
...you've been lashing out at RP since last night, as have others. I knew from day one that the establishment would not allow Ron Paul to become president. As I've said in the past...to me, Ron Paul is my middle finger that I raise in pride to the establishment. If RP were to some how get the nomination and then win the election, they would have taken care of him just as they did JFK and others. Please. Come down to earth, specifically America. Are you angry at Ron Paul? How about the populace? Maybe even yourself? Did everyone really do as much as they could have? It's easy to post that you canvassed for ten hours and called for twelve, but anyone can do that within a few seconds in front of a keyboard. Who actually did these things? If you want someone to blame then go look in a mirror(collectively of course). However it's hard to blame anyone because I believe that we have accomplished so much in such a short time. Who actually knew the inner workings of the party system? I've learned so much and want to learn more. I hope that you will take a few days and think about what I've said and what Ron Paul is saying. If we stop what we've been doing then the establishment has won. Not because of Ron Paul....look in the mirrir for the answer to that one.

OK, so what does this mean
Does it mean if the delegates all switched to him that they could not vote for him because he has quit? Or did he suspend? Or is he leaving his name on the "ballot" for the RNC??
I
Was thinking the same thing. maybe someone jumped a gun. Why would he rally us to bring delegates to our convention if they couldn't vote for him. What is the method to the madness?
I am thoroughly
confused, as usual. That speech was totally presidential. It was rallying the troops. He made no announcement.
think of it like this
You can check the old website. He says "Ending his presidential campaign". In his speech he kicked off the Liberty campaign. He hasn't dropped his candidacy just the presidential campaign. Why? Theres no more primaries. It was just a logical statement. Onward with the Campaign for Liberty!
How's that for a major upper...
...followed immediately by a major DOWNER? I think I'll go to bed.....

Yes, I just confused my whole
email list. I mentioned the media and that they should be sued and that he is not quitting and then I go to his site, it is still the same, but I know fanofwalt would not lead me astray, so I go back and refresh and there it is, "I am ending my campaign." But I still don't know what it means. He sounded like he was running for president in that speech????????
