he discontinued his campaign, which he actually wound way down a long time ago. He can still be elected president. He is still a candidate. It all depends on what happens from here on out. It all depends on us.

His campaign was, as Dr. Paul often pointed out to those who were getting too unrealistic, "about the message." Both Dr. Paul's and Barr's campaigns are simply about broadcasting the message of limited government. It's a means to influence the debate in this country. No more, no less.
No libertarian-minded candidate can win a Presidential election in this country, until minds are changed. That's what the Campaign for Liberty is all about.

So if this was the Mitt Romney "suspend" speech I didn't really hear him say it, just like last time. I realize the hopelessness of it now, but so where do we go from here? Our attempts here in Idaho, while to the world at large seemed quite an accomplishment, but on the local level our attempts at gaining anything of any real importance outside of PCman ((whose only real job it seems is to vote for preselected delegates we tried running our own but to no avail really)) were to no avail.
So where do we go from here? Either vote for an ex-CIA fed or someone who has even less recognition then that. Neither choice seems really like a winning golden ticket to me.
The latest has just left me even more confused then ever...What to do now with the delegates, the pcmen who ran and got elected to hopefully help choose the delegates, etc etc.. Now what?
Ron has many weaknesses in his communication skills. The end result of these weaknesses: lost votes and delegates, confused supporters, stop/start activity at all levels of his organization and infighting among his staffers (as far as the campaign went).
Despite these negatives, people will continue to support the ideas raised during the campaign while it was active. The presidential campaign is over, but the campaign for liberty continues.
Why are you wasting your time talking to this rude, obnoxious person who obviously never supported Ron Paul and what he stood for. It was never about him, it is about the message. Read his book, rewatch the video. He has plans for a revolution and his getting elected while we just sit in the bleachers is not a revolution.

Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull the mote out of thine eye; and behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thanks for the clarification, and I agree... McCain will fold after 10 minutes of debate against Obama. Meanwhile, the chastened GOP will have four years of serious house-cleaning led by Ron Paul Republicans. That's something to look forward to.

I'm saying that that's a bizarre question. The primaries are over and there are no more votes to get. It's not a matter of quitting. The campaign is simply finished. That doesn't require an announcement. It's a given.
It was probably the smart thing to do: not say it in the speech. There is nothing to quit since the primaries are over. BUT, I feel like my boyfriend broke up with me in an email instead of face to face. I know we are only beginning the fight, but I am upset. I'll be alright tomorrow. I need some chocolate ice cream....
There's no reason to be upset. You are not alone. We have each other and that's all we need to keep the movement going. If Ron Paul died tomorrow would you leave? We have each other. If the revolution dies then I'd feel like a couple million people broke up with me. 1 person a revolution does not make. He is our representative not our leader.

I think the topic is what sparked the animosity. As usual, was added to the topic title inferring "Ron Paul quits as usual". If that was intended then I'm all for some verbal smackdowns on that premise. We all know Ron Paul doesn't usually quit on anything.
I'll agree that some fellow Ron Paul supporters do have a hard time believing when their idol leaves the race or scales back on the campaign. I've seen it happen before too. It's kin to Elvis being dead. Some people have a hard time coming to grips with reality. I think his topic was geared towards supporters not Ron Paul.
Why is he an "ass"? You know he's telling the truth. I've seen a whole lot of knuckle-headed comments on these threads beseeching Paul to run under a third party and all kinds of other nonsensical statements.
Fortunately, Ron is clear as crystal in his latest statement.
