1980-1985 I tell you that if the NeoCons want to make war on me I will give them a taste of their own medicine...along with millions of other military veterans, gun enthusiast, law enforcement, rednecks, hippies, bikers, gang-bangers, revolutionaries, anarchist, patriots, and defenders of freedom. There are many, many, many, more of us than there are them. if they think Iraq is a tough slog....a war on Americans will be really, really, ugly. Let's get it on!

I have to tell you, I have given up this hope. I thought our veterans would come together and show the citizens what "Support the troops" means. Instead, I see Viet Nam vets calling the Iraq Vets Against the War "Cowards" to their faces. I thought our soldiers, dragged into service by the "poverty draft" would never turn on US - the citizens. Then a soldier I was talking to laughed at me, and pointed out that there is NOTHING in their oath about protecting us.
This morning, I truly have no hope left for my nation. There was a time our military could have performed a coup, and the people would have welcomed them as liberating heroes. Instead, they aided and abetted a Financial coup, and are now on our streets to haul you and me off if we act like we object.

Time for Citizen Arrests
With the petitions for redress of grievances that were delivered by We The People foundation, I am now calling for a consortium of ex law enforcement and military officers as I am going to push forward for a citizen arrest of every Congressperson who does not answer the request for disclosure. I understand that this event will possibly bring charges upon those for "false arrest" and I will have to ensure we can protect the members as much as possible, but I think it's important that we move forward and start making citizen arrests across our nation.
Also, since the media is not adhering to disclosing and educating the public and has violated every aspect of their important responsibilities, we should move forward and stage protests at their homes and hound them. This is peaceful protest and a demand for our laws to be followed by our elected representatives.

Doesn't the federal government have the authority to send troops to HELP in times of such an emergency? Isn't that be where troops should be, with the public cheering them on, loving the men and women in uniform. And as an aside, what a potential moral booster for the troops. (just a sentimentalist from a Canadian military family here)
I am continually stunned at the direction government takes with the people's resources, both financial and manpower.

I would like to challenge the notion that the military should "help" during a natural disaster. I guess it makes sense if you need someone to shoot a hurricane or bomb a tornado. But otherwise, what is it they would do that could not be done by local authorities and private actors?

Order of command.
Local state, county, and city law enforcement first. State National Guard would be called in if requested by Governor.
The National Guard seems to have been Federalized. Not a true State Guard IMO. There is a Citizens Militia as well.
The states are a sovereign country that belong to a union that forms the United States. Some may dispute that but the historical proof is evident to that fact. Carolina existed before the union of states. They would not have joined the Union knowing their sovereignty would be relinquished.
