EU: Lisbon Treaty (If Approved, Say Goodbye to Any and All Sovereignty and Say)
WARNING that the Irish would be the "first victims" if they reject the EU constitutional treaty in a referendum this Thursday, Bernard Kouchner, France's foreign minister, yesterday made the highest-profile intervention by a major European player in the country's fierce debate.
Speaking on RTL radio, Mr Kouchner said the Irish "have benefited more than others" from the EU's integration and would "be punishing themselves" if they vote No in the referendum.
He said that such an outcome would be met with "gigantic incomprehension" in the rest of Europe.

Vaclav Klaus says EU treaty is finished

And he is right at least for the time being. The EU-Treaty has to be ratificated by all member states to get into force. This was scheduled for 1st of January '09. Since the Irish Constitution seems to ask for a referendum, they may start a new one, but to start one this year seems just ridiculous. And don't forget: at least in the Czech Republic and in Germany the Treaty is under juridicial scrutiny by the constitutional courts. This may at least slow down the ratification procedure for years.

way to go Ireland !
Thx for the No Irish friends !! :)
big kisses from France =)
No vote..but they will try
No vote..but they will try to go on anyway...they have no scruples whatsoever..
This time the Irish alone had to speak for the rest
The EU has been rejected by most of the referendums when the people have a choice. In an article a few days ago
http://news.yahoo.com/s/a...
even an apparently statist leaning reporter quoted an opponent:
United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP) leader and MEP Nigel Farage.
Over the weekend he declared himself "deeply optimistic" of a no vote.
He said the three million eligible Irish were voting on behalf of the hundreds of millions of Europeans elsewhere "who have not had the chance to speak" through a referendum
This is how free Europe
celebrates our Irish friends and liberty.

Who is this guy Dodkad (?) ?
He looks a bit excentric, but that's okay for me. It's a pity, we seem to have only shadaw-of-shadow-of-RP in Europe.

Sounds like political asses are using filthy trickery.
I hope and pray the Irish people don’t fall for the same old image of convenient convention. Slothfulness just doesn’t pay.
But almost every politician seems hooked on domination at some point. The sense of power, the money, and the sense of acceptance draw fools together. (Wow—that sounds profound! Maybe I should write another book… …and publish it this time!)
May the Lord bless you. May God bless the Irish!

I feel like kissing an Irish
I feel like kissing an Irish right now! If it's a man, on the cheek; if it's a woman, on the lips. I wonder what's going on with the IRA. I hope they're watching this very carefully. Not that I'm a fan of the IRA but if the final showdown is us versus the corporatists, I'm sure they'll fight on our side.
Thats the YES propaganda
Thats the YES propaganda campaign in action..
Seriously, when I head out after exams.. if I run into an irish-man, & they voted or would have voted no. They've got free drinks all night.
Every freedom loving person in Europe, loves Ireland soo much right now.
I remember, what this used to feel like being an aussie.. till we starting intervening in fked up ventures..
