yes, and they can still vote

yes, and they can still vote for Romeny/Huckabee, etc.

When you suspend your campaign you get to keep your delegates...

in fact, all the delegates who were won by Paul or other candidates under the rules HAVE to vote for whoever won them on the first ballot.

Nothing has changed...

..he's just not actively campaigning....

Yes

and that is why we have to stay focused.

IT'S DOABLE

Delegates on the floor in St. Paul

The delegate count may be a little off (it was posted awhile ago

McCain has by some reports 1333 pledged delegates and 85 RNC delegates.Huckabee has 272 pledged delegates and 3 RNC delegates.Romney has 255 pledged delegates.Pledged delegates are just that pledged. The pledged delegates do not have to vote McCain although for party unity they might. They have just signed a letter of their intentions. What would happen if they didn't vote for McCain and placed their votes for Ron Paul, probably nothing. I mean I don't think they will be shackled and sent to Iraq. They might catch a little flack about party unity, but the party has shown no unity to Dr. Paul this whole campaign. But if a number of them defect the numbers could break down a lot different. If Romney and Huckabee delegates voted for Dr. Paul they could place him with 527 delegates+ his 26 or 42 which would place him at 569 if you go with the 42 figure. Now if a number of McCain delegates jump ship he could very well get the nomination or at least broker the convention. lot of McCain's count he did not earn on his own.A lot of the states have a winner take all type thing going. So in those states everyone else's delegates had to pledge to him (hence 1333).But if a good number of those delegates believe they have been gyped out of their vote, they not only can but should vote against the pledge or abstain from voting that will bring the numbers very different.Take the case of Abraham Lincoln in the Republican National Convention of 1860. Going into the Convention he had only 32 delegates, but a few months before he had gave a speech at Coopers Union in New York. The topic he spoke on was The Constitution and he researched his material and gave a monumental speech. You can very easily relate this to some of Dr. Paul's speeches (like Nevada). But the when the Convention came his delegates and supporters packed the place and were very vocal as to their support of Mr. Lincoln. There were three votes for the nomination with Lincoln winning the third and final vote and the Republican nomination for 1860 and who went on to be the 16th President.

Yes....

by all means....

Yes !!!!!!!!!!

Dr. Paul cured my apathy

Maybe Ron Paul will ask him to be V.P., not!

I'm sure we can work something out.

how will MSM explain

the candidate they ignored won the GOP nomination?

They will ignore

the fact that they ignored him. Ignoring is their forte.

Yes he can NOTHING HAS

Yes he can NOTHING HAS CHANGED go read this : http://www.dailypaul.com/...

Dr. Steve Parent

Yes, he can be nominated with "support" from 5 state delegations

Same rules as before. I forget if it was "demonstrated" or "majority" support, but check the GOP rules (posted all over the place in the "delegates" threads).

The requirements are still the same.

The delegates represent only a small fraction of the Ron Paul revolution. They should stay at the convention hall and watch the YouTube (or bring their laptops so their fellow delegates on the floor can watch live).

I'm sure the RP campaign will make sure there are events scheduled that delegates can get to after the close of business for the day, or will hold it on a day when the agenda permits delegates to get away for a while, but the delegates need to be at the GOP convention doing their duty. The rally is for the rest of us to attend and to watch online (and on the news).

IMissLiberty

Explain please

By saying yes they can, are you saying that nothing has changed as far as the National convention goes? Is it still a possibility for delegates for Ron Paul to vote for him? Also, are all the Ron Paul delegates going to skip out of the National Convention and go the the Ron Paul convention?
Someone please advise.

They better not skip out of the RNC

that would defeat the purpose. Hope that isn't the plan. But it is confusing.

HELL YES THE CAN VOTE!!!

As of now we have around 40 or so bound delegates and someone said over 550 delegates who are planning on voting for him!!!!

THIS IS STILL ON PEOPLE THE BATTLE HAS JUST BEGUN!!!
