Starting to see a lot of anti-zionist literature posted here.
Thought it would be a good topic for discussion.
Personally, and it may be unjustly on my part, anytime I see this topic as being important to someone, I have a tendancy to label that person a bigot in my own brain.
Am I wrong?

is the problem. Government is not held to the same fiscal accountability as private enterprise is. Crooks who take advantage of this to rob our wealth are indeed bad people, but they would have had no vehicle by which to perpetrate their frauds without a government to forcibly extract the wealth of individuals and appropriate it , basically, wherever they please. Also, a private enterprise would never willingly debase a currency, which governments ALWAYS do, and the bankers are right there with their machinations of a 'market' that is nothing more than a cover play for the mass withdrawal of wealth from individuals without their consent.

Common definition?
I know nothing about zionism other than it has something to do with jews, and that people get very heated about in on whichever side of the issue they're on. Frankly, I'm not educated enough (yet) in the matter to attack or defend zionism, but this much I do know:
To have, er, strong discussions about the issue without agreeing upon a common definition is like arguing apples with people who are arguing porpoises: they're not even arguing the same topic.
You know, two people may have a heated discussion about biscuits, but if one is from America and the other is from England, as long as they each have their own (different!) idea of what a "biscuit" is, their entire dialogue is without merit.
I was hoping to find an actual definition of "zionism" within this discussion; so far, I've seen biased or emotionally-charged descriptions of the term, and, I've seen retorts that seem to imply that a different definition is held regarding the term. Looks like apples vs. porpoises, with each being referred to as biscuits.
So, is there a clear, unbiased definition of the word "zionism" that both sides can agree upon? Providing a commonly agreed-upon definition, as a starting point, would help those of us not fully understanding of the term in following the logic of the arguments presented; also this would help those debating both sides to ensure they are discussing the same issue instead of the perceived same issue.

"Zionist" is also perceived as meaning "Jewish" by practically everyone else, because of its historical and Old Testament connections to Judah and ancient Israel.
The term is not helpful. Why can't people refer to "AIPAC" or "Israel" if they have a bone to pick?

There are Jews in this movement. Dr. Paul is a friend to many American Jews. Dr. Paul does not espouse anti-Zionist views and never has, to my knowledge. Dr. Paul is not anti-Israel. You can glean this from his televised debates.
I don't think we need public anti-Zionist threads on this site, even if they sometimes score good points now and again, any more than we need anti-black Civil Rights threads on here, or other material confirming the labels the scheming neo-cons have been trying hard to paint us with for the past year.
That's my .02, however, it's a free Forum.You have a right to post stuff from David Duke, Edgar Steele, or Aryan Nation if you want. Even if it does hurt us. Which it does.
I will say this--as soon as someone starts posting such material on here I will immediately be suspicious of that person, for the above reason I just cited. Not quite the same as other controversial material like 9-11 Truth, in my opinion.

I agree with your basic premise that the root of the problem is our government financially backing the Zionist movement.
However, people voice their opinions on political issues concerning other countries all the time...Kosovo...Africa...South America..the EU..etc. Does that make them bigots?
What is "special" about zionism that would signify one as a bigot if they criticize it? I didn't think that only Jews support Zionism...or is it only a one race, one religion political philosophy (Jewish?)? If it is, then isn't Zionism itself racially bigoted since it is aimed at protecting/promoting one particular race or religion of people against others? Just wondering>>>>

I do very much oppose our government supporting the zionist movement in any way.
Based on the premise of freedom and the constitution.
But there are people here that are actively campaigning for an anti zionist movement. This is rediculous. And I say bigoted.

First people must realize that there is a problem. Any lobbyist groups having sway over our foreign policy is a problem. Many people don't realize that lobbyist groups have any sway at all and that is where this whole subject comes from. There are other examples of foreign nations lobbyist groups affecting our foreign policy. Nobody is against Zionism.
