ZIONISM is a political cause and a doctrine of political nature. Like socialism, communism, fascism, democratism, etc. Many ethnic Jews are atheists (not Jewish by religion) and yet also political Zionists. Also, many non-Jews are ardent Zionists (Pat Robertson and much of evangelical Christianity, for example).

Judaism is a religion, like Islam, Mormonism, Methodist, etc. Its adherents may or may not be ethnically Jewish. They may or may not be Israelis. Most practicing religious Jews are not Israelis. Many are not Zionists. Some are.

Don't get Jews (race), Israelis (nationality), Judaism (religion), and Zionism (politics) confused. That would be like thinking white people (race), Americans (nationality), Mormonism (religion), and Republicanism (politics) are all equivalent and synonymous. While there is certainly overlap between the various groups, they are not equivalent.

I am mostly Caucausian but part Jewish by race, American by Nationality, Mormon by Religion, and Constitutionalist by political identity.

Not all Jews are Israelis. Not all Jews believe in Judaism. Some are atheists. Some are Christian. Not all Israelis believe in Judaism. Not all Jews, Judaists, or Israelis are necessarily political Zionists.

know Zionism is the political movement that called for and now wants to maintain a political independent state for Jews. There is nothing wrong with that and can be supported. There are lots of Jews supporting Ron Paul in the US, Israel etc. Let us make them feel welcome, just as with Arabs that also want an own state in Palestine.

The problem comes with the all powerful AIPAC that wants the US to give a preferential role to Israel and to be always partial to Israel, instead of a neutrality.
So the problem is with the domination.
