MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian air force planes dropped a 25-kg (55-lb) sack of cement on a suburban Moscow home last week while seeding clouds to prevent rain from spoiling a holiday, Russian media said on Tuesday.
"A pack of cement used in creating ... good weather in the capital region ... failed to pulverize completely at high altitude and fell on the roof of a house, making a hole about 80-100 cm (2.5-3 ft)," police in Naro-Fominsk told agency RIA-Novosti.
Ahead of major public holidays the Russian Air Force often dispatches up to 12 cargo planes carrying loads of silver iodide, liquid nitrogen and cement powder to seed clouds above Moscow and empty the skies of moisture.
A spokesman for the Russian Air Force refused to comment.
June 12 was Russia Day, a patriotic holiday celebrating the country's independence after the break-up of the Soviet Union.
Weather specialists said the cement's failure to turn to powder was the first hiccup in 20 years.
The homeowner was not injured, but refused an offer of 50,000 roubles ($2,100) from the air force, saying she would sue for damages and compensation for moral suffering, Interfax said.

Sadly, After what I witnessed in Iowa and this article I agree.
So, my dad is a very very angelic..type Geo physicist Aka now research meteorologist. He was or knew people who were involved with some of the first cloud seeding experiments. My dad personally was involved in the research of Con trails turning into storm systems. Little did he know this probably would one day be used as something harmful rather than helpful.
About a day before the really bad bad storms starting hitting the mid west..Iowa..flooding etc. I witnessed something very odd here in Colorado. I live in the front range area..right after the mountains on a plateau heading out for the planes..You can watch the clouds roll over the mountains on their way to reek havoc on the plains. I have seen Contrails from planes before, over the mountains..and my dad says it does vary with humidity..
But this day seemed different. It was very humid but I saw tons of Contrails..over the mountains. I actually watched in amazement. Within a few hours there were HUGE I mean Giant Cells creating storm systems heading for the Plains.
I do believe shortly after the flooding storms hit the midwest.
I think I believe it now. Not to sound like a conspiracy person, but why?
I actually know the Eastern Colorado has suffered a drought for sometime. I wonder if this was trying to help and it hurt instead.

That's not chemtrails
it's a concrete trail. I guess you could call it an underdeveloped sky sidewalk too. That is Russia. Not the U.S. Not to mention, anything coming from Russia would not surprise me. Ever. cement also contains large amounts of silica, when inhaled can cause silicosis, which is compared on a scale to inhaling asbestos.

Sloppy news reporting shows lack of care.
Accepting poor spelling by a news agency is lazy. Americans just accept laziness and lack of clarity. I refuse to be a little lost lamb that consumes what is handed to me. That includes poor spelling.
If a person can't be bothered to even spell check his/her document, why should I believe they even checked ONE fact they represent?
For example Gnat, you proceed to give me a piece of your mind but couldn't be bothered to look up "Reuters". Why? Because you couldn't care.

Cement dust has lye in it, and it's proven to cause severe eye injuries and blindness. It literally eats the eyes right out of their sockets. If they're spreading that dust around up there, man, they could be doing it in the USA too. That's seriously bad stuff.

I live in eastern Nebraska and have been wondering the
same thing myself..we have never had so many tornadoes in Nebraska in one year.
I have allot of tropical plants out in my yard the type with the waxy leafs and I noticed something strange today. Since I pulled them out of my greenhouse
they all been getting a heavy white residue on the leaves. I have been pulling these same plants out of my greenhouse for 10 years and never noticed anything like this before on their leaves.
I'm afraid the leaves are going to start dropping off the plants as they are not looking very healthy...I can only imagine what it might be doing to humans !!
Another thing that is weird is a guy that works for us put in a pond a couple weeks ago..he let the water sit and age and then went and bought some Koi
but they died within a day...so he took them back to Petco and got some more and they died also..he did this like 4 times and finally Petco told
him that allot people in Omaha have been having the same problem. They blamed it on farmers spraying the fields. Problem being I doubt farmers spraying fields is going to effect people living in Omaha unless they are on the very outskirts of town. I'm not even sure they are doing the crop dusting yet.
Seeding clouds does not form a trail.
Seeding a cloud is internal to the cloud.

Seeding a cloud is
not forming a cloud. It's doing something to an existing cloud.
"Chemtails" are just uneducated conspiracy theorists term for condensation trails or "contrails" (http://en.wikipedia.org/w...). These are simply water vapor and/or ice crystals that form - in other words unintentional man-made "clouds " of a sort that are not preventable at particular atmospheric humidities.

... the phenomena of "chemtrails.
If the "chemtrails" consisted of ice crystals they would perform as all contrails do, by falling with gravity into the lower and warmer air and evaporating. However, chemtrails are "persistent" and actually thicken and spread, creating a false cirrus type of "cloud".
As one who depends on weather for his livelihood and has studied meteorology for the last 25 years I think I may know the difference between a simple contrail and what we "conspiracy theorists" call a chemtrail.

I have flown in many a small plane and had done just that....
However, if this article proves to be accurate, it will be irrefutable proof that chemicals and other substances are being spread into the atmosphere by government sanctioned aircraft to modify weather.
