Freedom lovers in need
June 19th, 2008 by Jesse Benton
The Ron Paul family received some truly sad news yesterday. Eric Davenport, one of the Presidential Campaign’s most important volunteers, was tragically killed in a traffic accident over the weekend. Eric and his young wife, Danielle, spent countless hours working in the South Florida RP ‘08 headquarters. Together, they made hundreds of calls, stuffed thousands of envelopes and walked neighborhoods tirelessly supporting liberty. They even took an extended leave of absence from their jobs so they could support Dr. Paul full time.
The Davenport’s committment to the campaign was hard on the families pocketbook, and Eric’s untimely death leaves Danielle and their two small boys facing tremendous financial hardship. We can’t bring Eric back, but we can help these good people in their time of need.
Dr. Paul and Carol today sent Danielle a personal check. This money is a nice start, but your help is also needed. Any contribution, large or small, would be tremendously appreciated.
For privacies sake, I am not posting the families address on our website. Please either mail contributions to 837 West Plantation Drive, Clute, TX 77531 and we will forward them, or call our office at 979-265-3034 to get the address from our staff. Checks should be made out to Danielle Davenport.
Thank you for reading, I hope you can help.

Well done

Thanks for your help in assisting those who need it. These people are the definition of what it means to be a Patriot. Good luck to them and my sincere condolences for their loss.

For liberty!! *gong*

First round of donations just sent. . .

Thanks to all who have donated, I just sent Danielle $1,000 because she is having a hard time and the money is more important now until she gets her affairs in order.

The chip-in is still open and I will leave it so for at least a couple weeks: http://davenportrpf.chipi...

Thank you! What a great example to the children

Thanks Amy for seeing my suggestion that the donations be sent in "batches" rather than at the end of the Chip-In. $1,000 already, plus whatever has been sent to RP's office in Texas, and whatever Dr. & Mrs. Paul donated. Wow. What a great bunch of people we have in the RP Revolution Family.

Super importantly, I think that the Davenport children will see the outpouring of love and support and this will set an excellent example of how much good can happen when people work together, voluntarily, toward doing a good work.

I had already sent a card, when I first found out about this.

But I will be happy to chip in for this great patriot. I cannot believe that there is not more response from folks here.
It is all for one,and one for all. We are in this together, and need to stick together and support each other.

Help to one

that helped us. Please keep us informed on how she is doing.

Let's help her out!

At this time, the last thing that Mrs. Davenport should have to worry about is money issues. There's almost 400 people online right now. Surely all of us could go to the Chip-In and drop in at least 5 bucks. That'd be another $2000 on top of whatever has been raised so far.

No one needs to break the bank to help out the Davenport family. Let's show them how much strength there is in numbers. A few bucks from all of us will go a long way toward giving these folks a few less things to worry about while they work through this difficult time.

I did not know the Davenports, but I hope that Danielle and their two sons will be buoyed by the kind words, thoughts, and prayers of the Ron Paul Revolution Family. They are loved and appreciated by all lovers of liberty and freedom.

I'm also putting together a little memorial for her.

Great ideas, Amy

Making the ChipIn makes it a whole lot easier to help out. Thank you.

I do not know how these ChipIns work really, but if possible maybe you could consider remitting the funds to Danielle on an occasional basis, rather than waiting until the end. I know that financial stresses after the death of a loved one only serve to compound the pain, anxiety, and distress. Helping her out as soon as possible would do a lot to assuage those feelings.

Thanks for organizing this, Amy. I signed and donated.

Good idea.

Thanks for the suggestion. I think I will send what's been donated so far on Sunday, but keep the chip-in open and send whatever's been donated on a weekly basis until the chip-in expires.

I have a great idea for the memorial I'm sending her, but it won't be ready for about a month, so there's no harm in keeping it open that long. Plus, it does me no good sitting in a paypal account.

I sent my card

of condolences and a check on Monday.

WE ARE FAMILY NOW!
