Great News for the Convention!
Volunteers and Leaders have been working diligently around the clock to make this convention a success! We are making a great deal of progress and would like to give it all we've got in these last few days to bring in even more delegates and support.
Just in the last 24 hours representatives have been on radio shows announcing the convention and encouraging others to join.
In the last 24 hours the CCRP has reputedly been flooded with phone calls condemning the scheduling of events that conflict with the delegate-sponsored reconvening of the Convention on June 28th! We are getting enormous support from the public, so much that CCRP officials have requested our help in controlling "gossip" and "distortion".
In just the last 24 hours The Nevada Republican Assembly ENDORSED OUR CONVENTION! The Delegates HAVE the support they need. Let's make sure we are all there in overwhelming numbers to finish what we started last time.
What you can do:
----Call, email, visit, anyone you know who is a credentialed delegate and invite them to join us in Reno. If travel and lodging is a problem there are many people offering carpools and free housing for out of town delegates.
---Let's bombard the media! They need to know that this convention is happening because Delegates decided to take a stand and to claim their right to run their convention and vote on who will represent them. That they are standing up and reconvening a convention of fair process.

You don't have to know allot about the convention. Just get on the air and share your excitement! If you don't know what to say . . . here are some ideas:
1) Mention the June 28th Delegate-Sponsored Convention as often as possible.
2) Mention that the Convention Belongs To The Delegates.
3) Mention that Sue Lowden improperly recessed the convention without a vote, and that according to Robert's Rules of Order a recess requires a majority vote.
4) Mention that the delegate-sponsored convention will be entirely legal if we get a quorum.
You may need to interrupt or shift the conversation, and this is fine. Politely shift the conversation. Perhaps you could extend a blanket invitation to all the listeners. Perhaps you could ask them if they've heard about the delegate-sponsored convention on June 28th.

Jason is telling you straight. Many of us do not even believe that the NV GOP date in July will come to fruition at all. It's a smokescreen. This is politics and they are the machine and they play dirty, no worries. Quoting Bob Beers "it may not be moral, but it not illegal." You've probably heard about the letter that went out from Suzanne Lowden asking for $35 from every delegate to help defray costs. What audacity, they call an improper recess and then expect the delegates to pay for it. But, you see, the underlying thing here is they are saying they need extra security (all the Ron Paul supporters have necessitated this, of course, waa-waa-waa), so you'll have to pay extra. But, wait, there is a possible solution...a mail-in ballot will only cost you a stamp. So the letter has a sign up sheet...enclose your $35 with your RSVP or indicate you would prefer a mail-in ballot. They then toss around the word "official" and put the fear into the delegates that the June 28th Delegates Convention will not count, also the fear which is necessitating extra security...stay away you older generations, those rowdy Ron Paul "kids" are out to get you. (scarcasm).
Simply not true, but that quorum is all important. If one wants to be a part of history... pay no fees as a delegate, enjoy a fair, open to all, and parlimentarian run Convention at a beautiful venue ...there is a very simple answer where ever voice and vote counts....the June 28th Delegate Convention at the Grand Sierra Resort, Reno.

Please call them up and find out....then ask them if they will come to the convention in Reno on June 28th, if they ask why should they/is it legal etc. please have your facts in front of you(ie http://www.nevadagopconvention.com/ ) We must ask and be firm in our knowledge and truth about our facts....I bet many of them(if any are actually delegates/alternates) are only making decisions based on what they are told, not based on the truth. have this also in front of you so you can quote Roberts Rules of order to them....
On Page 224 of Robert's Rules of Order - Newly Revised 10th Edition it says this about a Recess:
3. Is out of order when another has the floor.
4. Must be seconded.
5. Is not debatable.
6. Is amendable as to the length of the recess; any such amendment is undebatable.
7. Requires a majority vote.
8. Cannot be Reconsidered

Just Talked to the NV GOP office in Las Vegas
Talked to a very pleasant man named Cameron. He apparently loves phones calls 702/258-9182. I explained my position as a mature Republican voter and that I would be going to the June 28th convention which represents the will of the Nevada Delegates and therefore, the voters.
I told him that I was disappointed in the delay tactics, for people laying blame on "Ron Paul supporters" when the disruption and panic was created by the acts of the people at the podium on the April 26th date. I told him that HQ should be listening to the people not the RNC in DC. I went on to say that yes they had the right to call the original convention, but now the convention is in the hands of the delegates and we are meeting on June 28th and I hope they decide to join us. I said it was time for the GOP to revert to its original platforms and that it will happen. They can choose to either be heroes and join us on the 28th of June, or villans and proceed with their rather transparent tactics. I also said that some states are having to sue the party for their rights and that I certainly don't think that is good for any of the candidates running on the Republican ticket. He sputtered a lot, but I know he just loved my call. (scarcasm screaming across the page.) I also politely pointed out that according to my research and that of others a mail-in ballot would not be legal. You know, I liked Cameron so much, I think I might give him a buzz again tomorrow.

Funny that you mention that. Sometimes I think "I should do this or that, and then have an argument with myself that it won't work and I'll look silly or ridiculous even asking." You know, sometimes event the most outlandish idea of a phone call works, but one has to be willing to face a big "no." Did that "no" hurt, nope, just a word.
