The Best Farmland in the U.S. Is Flooded; Most Americans Are Too Stupid to Panic
As soon as I became aware of the flooding situation in the American Midwest, I posted the story with the EMERGENCY prefix on the title. Just so we're clear, when I write EMERGENCY at the beginning of a post title, this is my way of indicating that the situation is as serious as it gets. It means that I feel as though everyone reading should consider taking immediate evasive action. All the jawboning about conspiracy, how things could have been, how things should be, etc. are behind us now. You know, EMERGENCY, act fast, eyes wide, nostrils flared, etc.

Yea
I wish they'd stop manipulating the weather. And we, the food consumer, are so largely disconnected from food producers that most of us wouldn't have the foggiest idea that there was a problem until there was no food on our plates.

1993?
How does this year (2008) compare to 1993?
my farming parents in Iowa
are replanting 30% of their crop now from the floods. Keep in mind that the costs for them are doubling and the price of all these grains have nearly doubled from their norm. Any loss is double of what it would have cost them 3 years ago and it's to the point. Stess is going up for all of them as well. Most would think that with these prices that being a farmer is a great job. However, keep in mind that it only brings more stress. Pray that the weather will cooperate with them for the rest of the year.
I could not agree more.. our
I could not agree more.. our food stacks are the lowest in 50 years,, Australia is still struggling with drought.. major food disruptions are only a few months away.. protect your family.. but most won't listen till to late!
as for me and my home, we shall worship the LORD
Very true
Living in Australia, in an agricultural region, we have ongoing drought..., 7th year now...the amount of moisture we've had is neglible, sowing normally starts off after 25th of April here but it is nowhere near normal... if no follow up rains soon, whatever has been sown is lost.
Normally we have rains almost non stop this time of year (Winter) but where I am, close to end of June, we have had no rain to speak of.
It's scary to say the least.. and of utmost importance to stock up and be prepared. Country people are, but city people??? I think not.

Yes, it is truly frustrating to tell people
to get prepared. We are not financially able to buy hardly any storage foods, and yet I am gardening and working hard at it to store as much as I can. I even planted some wheat this year so I could have some of that, and even saving rainwater to water my garden, and mulching heavily, as we have to get our water with a generator (gas way too much). And some of these people who will not listen have plenty of money to buy food to store. Well, they will have more money, but at least we will have food. What can one do? Sheeple will not listen.
Thank you for the information

Thanks, for
posting. The title is perfect, when I try to warn people it is like hoo hum.
Now, I know how Noah felt when he was building his ark. Peace
Should the title should read "to stupid"
rather than "too stupid". After reading DP I tend to forget all the rules of grammar!
