not a long term strategy. I heard Ron Paul say in his montana speech that if every state had an additional nuclear plant we would have all the electrical power we need.
I always try to get advice from retired folks, not talking about 50 year olds, I mean those that really have knowledge like people in their 80's on up. I also believe that as we aspire to higher consciousness within our lives we extend our awareness to all of that life with which we have common ancestry and eventually arrive at a conscious realization of the relationship we have with our mother the earth and our father,. the cosmic consciousness of the universe. I also find that the bible is an attempt to explain to man the nature of this relationship, but it can only be understood on a personal level by the development of personal consciousness. Within this belief grows an understanding of the nature of the Messiah as (what is described in Hindu) an avatar. A forerunner of what mankind is to become if he but wakes to the realities of life. We approach now a set of cusps or decision points and the decisions mankind makes as a conscious entity will determine his future. To that extent, I am dedicated to being a part of deriving the proper decisions. Therefore, it is incumbent upon me to be a part of the solution and to aid in the education of others even as there are those that work to educate me. My greatest awe is at the workings of the universe and the process by which mankind is being refined. There is an element of the mechanistic to it and this was understood by the ancient men of knowledge that mapped out and studied the workings of the universe. But, they also understood the nature of the consciousness of the universe and the relationship of man to the earth mother and knew that the total process is one that goes far beyond the mere mechanical operation of cosmos. So, I continue my studies of all knowledge as my inner being may direct my studies and continue my interactions with others that I may have what I hope to be a positive effect. How do I sleep? Then consider that the constant movement of life is in a constant direction towards the higher consciousness that may be attained and that man may only gain his proper position within this structure we call life by a growing consciousness. Yes there is a mechanistic nature of this, and the perspective of viewing God as a watchmaker would be accurate, but it would seem odd to think of this overall creator of all as a person that would render a creation without consciousness and will of its own. This is a pattern that is repeated throughout creation. Thus I conceive of God as a computer program and we are a subroutine that has been given free will and liberty as part of a grand experiment. The full nature of this program is something I have not yet discerned, but it is getting interesting. I know this - that the mind of man is the most powerful tool on the surface of the earth. I also know that to deny the conclusions I derive on a synthesis of facts using those means of reason, logic and rational thought with which I am endowed by my creator, is to deny the very nature of freedom and liberty as well as my own existence. Something now for you to think about - Man has been called the only animal that dies before he matures, does this mean he matures after he dies?

I live in just such a community (renter). And yep, they have their little HOA patrols walk around the neighborhood with clipboard in hand, and if the paint is fading on your front door, or if your grass isn't clipped just so, or if you swap out flowers in your garden without their prior approval (!) you get a letter and usually a fine.
Our own HOA just issued a notice of an activity that is now banned anywhere in the common areas (sidewalks, curbs, streets, our little community park): the use of sidewalk chalk. This news was revealed to me the day after I bought a box of 52 colorful sidewalk chalk sticks for my 6-year-old for her birthday...
At the beginning of the dark age ( before we had a entrenched community association ) a group of sheeple started to award each other with a monthly "yard of the month" award. A nice sign was transfered from month to month and placed in the nice yards.
Once in a while some "hippies" would steal the sign and place it in their own yard next to the old fridge. Since half their yard was clay dirt it was always a good laugh. When the "association" took over they told me I couldn't keep my vintage camping trailer in my own driveway. I put up a huge for sale sign that week.
The police gave ma a warning saying my forsale sign was too large. I asked them to show me where in the law. I has so much fun my last days. I did feel sad for them... I'd spend several hours a week working on my veggie garden and fruit trees and even a blueberry bush, and they'd spend several hours a week on plain old green grass.
That's insane, absurd, and makes me want to vomit! No wonder the sheep are so willing to give up their freedoms to the government --- they're already giving up their freedoms to the neighborhood quasi-government.
