Forced to pay for services not being rendered!

Warning!
This happened to me and it could happen to you if you live in fl.or anywhere else waste management has a contract with a town or city.
On 24th jun 08 in Palm Bay,Fl. Our house is being foreclosed and we are moving.I called my phone and internet company, power company and Garbage collection services to schedule shut off of services.
All went well until we got to the company called Waste Management -get this--they told us we could not stop our service that palm bay city council had an ordinance made for the waste management contract stating we had to pay even though our home is being foreclosed and the house will be vacant for an unknown amount of time and will not be having any trash service. I went up the waste managements chain of command and expressed my disgust and informed them that I will not pay for services that are not being rendered--they told me I must pay and that there was nothing they could do to change it I informed them that this is America and we have a constitution to protect us from things like this-he laughed.--I must speak with city council he said. So I call a city council employee and speak to him to inquire
about this and he told me that there was nothing he could do either
that it was written into the city code by accepting the waste management contract.
We are supposed to be free to cancel any service that we pay for when the service is no longer being rendered especially.This is a double kick in the teeth to someone who served in the us army for 8 years protecting freedom in other places while inch by inch ours are being lost behind closed doors.Comrades have fallen believing in fighting for freedom to the death and ours is almost completely lost.
Sad sad sad. How many people in this town or any where in the US have the company called waste management? Do you think anyone realizes they can't cancel their service no matter the circumstance until the title is completely changed? This seems very unconstitutional to me and nazi'ish even communistic.
I am so glad I'm finally leaving this place but I fear there will be something just like it wherever we go. Had it not been for this situation I wouldn't have known about it, it was not in any of the contracts for service that i signed.Anyway I'm trying to get over the realization of how srewed up our country has really become.
We need revolution now more than ever!
