I have been told that Murray Sabrin is considering running for Governor of New Jersey next year (it will be a very crowded race - at least 5 names have already surfaced).

And build a base in his home district and draaw from those outside that he energized for his senate run.
I'm a fan of Murray's, but
I'm a fan of Murray's, but if he couldn't win against two very weak opponents for Senate I have to imagine he's not going to win this race either. I don't think statewide that NJ is ready. I think a seat in the House might be more do-able.

I think the issue was the party elite, who was never satisfied with Murray, I think they always wanted a "pro-choice moderate" as with Estabrrooke first, they were talking about Rudy, Giualiani, then then the rich Hispanic playboy fraud, as a placeholder for Dick Zimmer. Zimmer was a congressman before, fiscally very conservative and some part of the 1994 "Contract with America" is attributed to him, so that political experience has helped and as DC lobbyist, he had good contacts of course and is a McCain man. Murray has beaten him in all the debates IMHO, but how many people have really watched it? They went after name recognition.
Murray did increase Dr. Paul's support from 5% to 14%. He may as well run for governor next year, and if he does not win the primary, he can go for congress seat in 2010 (or before, in case a position freezes up). He is soo talented. Now at least better known than before.

I donated fairly heavily to Murray, but I can't support a run for governor unless I see he's really getting some widespread support. For awhile I thought he would sneak through in the Senate race, but it didn't happen.
Now a run for the House I could get behind. Frankly I think he'd do more good there. As governor he can't address key issues like civil liberties and the Fed, or the war.

He has 18% support, statewide
voter turnout in a gubenatorial primary is likely going to be lower, and he will be able to help try to get the movement going. 18 % doesn't mean quit. it means a big first step has occured, next time he'll get, maybe 36%, and possibly on his third try he'll win (Is there a senate election in 2012?)
