"There is but one special interest that we should be working for, and that would solve just about all of our problems, and that is our liberty."Ron Paul
This march was NEVER a campaign rally! It's an issue-based march with Dr. Paul as the keynote speaker.
Your constant negativity is appalling, Granny. RevMarch had your Sturgis event posted on THEIR website until you decided to repeatedly and unfairly trash the march. Thousands of people are coming to the march, not to support a presidential candidate, but to support the issues of freedom, civil liberties, transparent government, national sovereignty, fiscal responsibility, and sound and ethical foreign policy. I for one am certain that Dr. Paul's campaign for liberty will do far more for advancing the principles of this movement than his presidential bid. He is an inspiration to a whole new generation of people getting into public office and demanding better of their Congressmen.
He and his family will be there to support all of us as we stand up for what is right! I encourage everyone interested in these ideas to keep the faith and know that there is an entire team - a VOLUNTEER team, mind you, though Granny keeps making references to the misguided notion that we're being paid...HA! - working tirelessly to bring the American people this event.
The devisive commentary is not appreciated and is counterproductive to advancing this movement. Focus on making your OWN event spectacular, not sabotoging the D.C. rally!
The March isn't about Ron Paul, it's about the issues. I for one am pissed and ready to have my voice heard. No to Resolution 362, No war with Iran, No to the National ID, No to exapnding the Feds Power, No to the FISA Program with retroacive immunity to the telecommunication corps. who spy on us, No to the Patriot Act and the list goes on. When are we going to say ENOUGH! When are we going to realize this isn't about a man, or a political party this is about us and having the balls to say "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore." It doesn't matter if it's in DC, SD, or Timbucktwo. Who cares as long as we take action to have our voices heard. For over a year I've been on this journey, this mission with Ron Paul and the one thing I now know for certain is that I'm neither blue or red, conservative or liberal, Democrat or Republican, my allegiance is to myself, my family, my God and my Republic. I will be in DC and I for one am stoked and can't wait to see you all there. Thanks for listening and allowing my little rant, I feel better now..Peace..
It will be a bust, now that Ron dropped out. He said he would stay in the race as long as support was there at least till the convention. Apparently he lied. All our resourses should have been focused on this march. This is the one event, (if big enough) that could have pushed him over the top as things got worse in our country, as they no doubt will. Bad timing, bad management!
to make a statement and learn new tricks in this political world. Many of the people who have realized that money is becoming more and more scarce are signing up to go to the Freedom Festival in Sturgis. Many were going to the March in DC ? I think people are becoming more and more aware that what we have been talking about is really happening not just internet gossip. The Festival offers real solutions and plans to be helpful to all of us, presented by creditible people who are not being paid to attend, but are paying their own way to make sure people are armed with the best information and tools to survive these next few years.
I think many have just realized that marching in DC for a Non-Candidate is rather foolhardy and will accomplish nothing. Especially on a week end ( Saturday) when there is no one in Washington DC. All the politicians are at their homes in other states and there is no one working the week ends. Washington basicly shuts down on the week ends plus the horrendous heat in July. All the buildings blocking the breeze and concrete which just stores the heat is a little too much for most people to withstand for any legnth of time.
about the March in DC! Why would you want to be so negative about it? There are many of us that just cannot make the trip to SD but are able to make it to and are excited about the March in DC! I dont understand why you feel the need to throw a wet blanket over a positive endeavor? I know you have done so much and I am sure the event in Sturgis will be wonderful and a great success.....for those able to attend it. If that is what some choose to do then I say go for it! Why cant you have the same attitude for those that are attending the DC March?
you stated above:
"I think many have just realized that marching in DC for a Non-Candidate is rather foolhardy and will accomplish nothing. "
FYI-Ron Paul IS STILL a candidate...he has only suspended his campaign which frees him up from FEC regulations to do so much more with the grassroots. I do not second guess this man..he is brilliant. You may not understand why he does some things but I trust him to know what is best.
Granny, we are all in this together I dont think it is right to slam other events that are all working towards the same goal.
You are wrong, Ron is out of the race, listen to him, call him and ask point blank, he is not running any longer but centering his focus on the Campaign for Liberty. Just think now, if he had just suspended the campaign the FEC rules would still affect him, Right? Ron has said it is time to change direction, and he is doing just that, people are just too dedicated and wishful to give up on his campaign. He evidently knows more than we know and knows this is the way he wants to continue. as far as being nasty to the March, you need to look closer. I haven't called names, but have been totally disgusted with the methods they have used to discredit us and our event.. I haven't said a lot as I did not want to cause any more disention than there already is but when they call me names like a ignorant redneck, has been revolutionist, animal abuser etc.. that does leave a very nasty taste in my mouth. And some really hard feelings.. As with the other event in DC which was pretty good even with their calling emailing and having people at the gate telling people we had canceled we still had over 2000 people yet the reports they give is less than a few hundred?
The Freedom Festival is a active and educational event which is being put on to help people start in a new direction as well as learn how to best take care of their family during the bad times coming, Even Ron says things are going to get much worse. Believe him. Believe in him, but listen to his message don't hear just what you want to hear. Think independantly about what you can do to improve this country and your lives. Get over this gossip and finding fault with any one that differs from what you or your friends think. Use common sense. People who live on the west coast will find it much easier to go to SD and people on the east will find it easier to go to DC that is not a problem for me.. I hope every event is a good one and if 10 people turn out and learn something that is a good thing. if a thousand do that is even better but none of these events is going to do anything if people do not start listening with their heads and not their hearts. My heart was broken also when Ron quit. But you just have to get over it and go on.
Granny Warrior www.grannywarriors.com
Benton called the decision to suspend the presidential campaign a "legal" matter. Paul has not been actively campaigning for months, but had never officially called it quits.
I disagree. It's true that when this idea first went around. Instead of debating when to do it. We all should have got in the truck, drove to DC, and camped out until speakers showed up. This would have been a strike/march on DC. But you play the hand you're dealt and this is what we have.
Paul is as out as any of the other out candidates and is holding delegates who are on a mission. Those who know McCain best like him least. He does not appeal to conservatives, could implode or die of natural causes or guilt at any moment and there's still a grand unification convention to be had.
We have to keep the pressure on any way we can and this is what's on the table right now. To make the most of it we need to continue as planned to show our unwavering resolve. We need to get our options out on the table and in the public limelight.
Chuck Baldwin will be a speaker at the march and could prove to be powerful leverage against GOP leadership. This past year was a record recruiting year for the GOP and this year it could be the biggest exodus of a political party since ever. This could be a record recruiting year for the major 3rd parties and the results of this march could be the catalyst for the 3rd parties going mainstream.
Of course this effort will be suppressed by the establishment but it doesn't matter as long as we never stop pushing. They will recognize our issues whether they like it or not. They will swing back our way or be replaced in due process. But we have to prove that we won't get bored, give up, and go home. If we do that now they will have considered this whole thing just a fad. The Republican party needs to feel threatened that they may no longer be a viable party after the convention. They could save face and a lot of pain if they fix it so Paul wins the nomination, if not they need to suffer dearly. If they announce McCain the official nominee, then unless you're entrenched in the party, need to register 3rd party. Which one doesn't matter as long as the numbers reflect rapid decline in GOP registers.

I am confused, Ron has stated over and over he would stay in the race as long as he has support so I think he is probably in the race in some way? I cannot see him making statements over and over that are not true. What is confusing is that he would have his own convention rather than demanding entrance to the GOP>?
