Two of you voting against English as America 's Official Language are Presidential Candidates: Senator Clinton and Senator Obama.
Two Senators vying to lead America , but won't or don't have the courage to cast a vote in favor of 'English' as America 's Official Language when 91% of American Citizens want English officially designated as our language.
This is the second time in the last several months this list of Senators have disgraced themselves as 'Political Hacks'........Unworthy as Senators and certainly unqualified to serve as President of the United States .
If America is as angry as I am, you will realize a backlash so stunning it will literally 'rock you ....... And preferably totally out of the United States Senate.
The entire immigration bill is a farce... Your action only confirms this really isn't about America .....it is about self-serving politics......despicable at best. It has been said:

I believe Obama voted aginst the bill in favor of the illegals.

Look it's a no-brainer: In France, the official language is ..French. In Spain it is...Spanish. In Holland, it is ...Dutch. They don't give favored status to any other languages, and we should not either. Before the current influx of immigrant (legal and otherwise), Germans were the number one immigrant group. They came here, and they made English their new language of their ADOPTED new country. And I think that that is key, because the current crop of immigrants seems to be only here to work and send money back where they came from rather than integrating into the cultural patchwork that is the US. We would have come apart long ago if English did not unify us. The government no longer wants us unified, it prefers that we are all split into factions, ethnicities, and opposing political parties, because if the sheeple ever come together, it will be to overthrow the whole rotten system, and go back to square one.

True, people do have the
True, people do have the freedom to use whatever language that they want. But it would be very beneficial to our nation for us to have an official language.
How?
What is the reason for wanting to make English the official language?
All I have heard is people saying that they're tired of Mexicans coming to this country and not learning English and saying that if we had English as the official language, it would solve that problem. But that's not how language is learned. Language is learned through immersion in a group of native speakers. That is the only way and whether or not English is the official language will not change that.
