Chuck Baldwin video from 1994 surfaces? you must see to believe
A fiery speech from 1994. 14 years later the Same Baldwin back then is the same Baldwin today as principled as the Good Doctor
watch it all, then judge, then give your opinion

to all those attacking Chuck Baldwin because hes a Christian
Pastor. You ought to be ashamed of yourselves. You claim Libertarian principles when youre discriminating against a Christian. Baldwin dosent wear his religion. It just happens that hes a pastor.

he does wear his religion
He puts out bible verses for why jesus supports the second amendment.
I have no problem with someones religion. But it should not be interjected into politics in this way. Of course the people that claim predjudice against christians, are the same ones that spread the Obama is a muslim meme.
I also don't like religious men in politics because they claim to have a special insight into truth that is intuitive, not rational. They just Know. That's fine for your own life, but not for government.

Any chance of Baldwin-Paul ticket?
"first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks...will deprive the people of all property" -Thomas Jefferson
no
chance, unfortunately Baldwin/CP does not have any chance of winning, as they will definitely not be on the ballot in all states, so it is mathematically impossible.
not much
Dr Paul has chosen to stay with the Republican party. He's in some good committee positions in DC and it's important for him not to give that up. The CP offered him the nomination, but he turned it down. Baldwin would back out if Paul decided he wanted it. A Paul/Baldwin or Baldwin/Paul ticket would be great.
No
Darrell Castle is Chuck Baldwin's running mate.
Good Point about Huck
the 2 cannot be compared politically -
as Baldwin is all for "bringing down the NWO"
he is not in with the CFR as Huck - who had Richard Haas (President of CFR) on his board.... (thankfully nothing came of that)
Baldwin does not give the appearance of ever getting bought out by the elite.
I am not a Christian, and
I am not a Christian, and some of Baldwin's beliefs bother me, but, unlike Huckabee, he does not scare me AT ALL. I am certain he would follow the constitution MUCH better than any other candidate but Ron. I also do not think the CP will be on my ballot here in AR, because they shut down some years ago. However, put up against any other candidate that has not suspended, I would vote for Baldwin in a NY minute. I trust him. He is a good man and stalwart. I waited to be sure, but now I am.
Huckabee has that "look into
Huckabee has that "look into my eyes and be tranformed into a zionist zombie" type thing going. I mean he scared me just seeing him on tv knowing that he was nothing but a zionist buttsucker.
Independent
Here is the ballot access progress for the Constitution Party. Chuck Baldwin will be running as an independent candidate in Arkansas.
i will most likley vote for
i will most likley vote for him
Not only is he as principled as Dr. Paul
but he is as articulate as well. If Paul doesn't through some miracle get the RNC nomination, and Baldwin's endorsement, I will be hard pressed as to whether to write Paul in or vote for Baldwin.

That does not support your generalization
Continuing the thread below:
That does not support your generalization, since the "research" of both of these sites are themselves unsupported (and incomplete).
And I find it humorous that the second site that you listed, http://mfoster.com/misc/w..., cites write-inronpaul.com as a "resource used in assembling this list," when in fact write-inronpaul.com redirects to bobbarr2008.com, as I posted to the Daily Paul recently.

Michigan is not "most states"
That still does not support your assertion that "...write-in vote[s] most states clearly state will not be counted ..." Michigan is not "most states" last I checked.

As I Said
I am not about to go look up all fifty states. What does the state law say where you live?
This was the generalization that you made...
"...write-in vote[s] most states clearly state will not be counted ..."
I would think that you could clearly support such a broad generalization.
I don't know about my state yet. I'll be doing my homework over the next few months.

You won't accept the evidence that I have submitted, and right now, I don't have a better source without doing the research myself. What state do you live in? I can get you an answer pretty quickly, I am sure.
I am not sure what you want from me that I have not already offered.

My Response from Below
How does this work for you. I am not about to go to all 50 states, but this is the law in my home state of Michigan.
I am sure that you will find similar provisions in many more states around the country. Check out your own state laws for yourself. I did a Google search for "michigan write-in election law".
Ditto, California, I believe

Barr on UN, NAFTA, etc.
I asked this below, but I think it got lost in the deep layers of the conversation. Chuck Baldwin is very firmly against NAFTA, CAFTA, the WTO, the UN, and any attempt at a North American Union.
Does anyone know what Barr's positions are on these issues?
I did not see these addressed on his web site (which may be indicative in and of itself). As the Council of Foreign Relations is pushing for a North American Community by 2010, I believe that these issues are perhaps the most critical in our next president.
He talks about NAFTA here
Go to http://www.bobbarr2008.co...
Warning: video starts playing immediately.
This is a one hour show with Glenn Beck. (If the Glenn Beck show doesn't play due to website update, look for it on the page.)
NAFTA is mentioned in the last five minutes. It's worth a listen as most of the interesting stuff comes before that. He's not a Ron Paul clone, but you can see why Barr made the motion to have the LP ask Dr. Paul to run on the LP ticket; they have more similar ideas than most in Congress.

Thank You
That was very informative and gives me a much clear picture of who Bob Barr is. I would not be opposed to supporting him, though I still lean toward Baldwin personally. I think both candidates have strong platforms.
I Don't Understand
all the anti Christian stuff here - just because the guy is a Pastor ....
He is running for President of the USA - and his platform is to reinstate
the Constitution and restore the Republic. If he was a Buddist I would
expect him to speak within those parameters - as long as he was still
running a pro Constitution campaign. A lot of what I am reading seems
to be like Obama voters (Not Reading The Issues) if you have gone
to Baldwin's website and read all of the issues stated and watched the
videos of him speaking on each individual issue page - then, no problem -
you don't like him based on his message. I am a bit curious about writing
the guy off because of his spiritual beliefs. One more thing -
there are some huge issues he is talking about like ... ending Iraq war
NOW and bringing all troops around the world home and not going into
Iran or any intervention with any nation or policing the world -
Soverignty - USA - border control - small government - Fix the Fed -
no IRS - etc... no Real ID or NAU ... get out of the UN and get them out
of the USA... (wow, sounds like another great Patriot I voted for in the
Primaries and continue to support)
CB believes in freedom of religion (or no religion) for everyone in the USA
oh well, that's it for me - the state I live in doesn't allow me to vote
for RP so I am most likely voting for Chuck Baldwin -
because he supports the Freedom Message of RP and is a huge RP
supporter himself. It's a no brainer!
Well said
You said that very well. I really like the guy's message but it still concerns me how he goes about spreading his message. That's all. If i was a candidate and said I'm a racist redneck that wants to hate everyone, and want everyone else to hate everyone, and I want my gun to make sure no one I don't like gets out of hand yadda yadda yadda, my message is that of following the constitution, but I would state my position in what I believe to be devisive terms. That's an extreme example, but I believe to be a similar case none the less. I just wish he would tone down the religious ideas in a political forum, that's all.
Also I urge everyone to also go to another presidential candidate's website and look strictly at the issues, and that candidate's name is Bob Barr.
Can you answer my question?
I went to Barr's website looking for his stance on NAFTA, the UN, etc., and I found nothing. Are you able to answer the question I posted above?
Good question
Barr is for exiting the UN (which he mentioned on the Colbert Report), and On the Glenn Beck show he was extremely upset about the building of the NAFTA superhighway. That's all i got for you now, and I have to go but I'll get back to you ASAP.
Honestly
I had no opinion on the man, and still don't. But when I read the Party Platform, it scares the crap out of me because every other paragraph is homage to Christianity and its role in government. Can you please give me a reason to believe that a vote for this guy is NOT a vote for still more use of government force to push someone's version of Christian values on me?
I don't want to pay for religious teachings and icons in public schools and public places. I don't want government legislating "morality". I don't want a theocracy. Government should not be involved in religious matters. You may or may not agree with my views. But they are STILL my views. Please explain why, given my views, I should not be very concerned about the platform of the Constitution Party?
Thanks!
CP Platform
The CP platform states that the federal government has no authority over the public school system. The constitution doesn’t give the federal government any such authority.
They also have no authority to push any religion because the constitution forbids it. Their platform states:
“Our Constitution grants no authority to the federal government either to grant or deny the religious expressions of the people in any place.”
The CP does state they are Christians. But, they also recognize that government cannot force you to be a Christian. You have freedom of religion. You have the right to choose. The CP backs your right to be whatever you choose to be.
As another example: The CP is against gay marriage, but they recognize that the federal government has no authority over such matters. Their platform states, “We are opposed to amending the U.S. Constitution for the purpose of defining marriage.” This is very different from what Huckabee was pushing.
The CP’s goal is to back the U.S. Constitution. Not to run our lives.
Well Said
Thank you for stating the case so well.

well stated - thank you
that will be helpful to many of us to share.
Great video
Wait a minute. This guy actually sounds pretty good.
But NOY, I think you need to work on your arithmetic or am I confused?
"first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks...will deprive the people of all property" -Thomas Jefferson
I like what the man is
I like what the man is saying, but i don't agree with how he is saying it. So if I happen to be a Hindu or an atheist, I have to hear about this Jesus guy in every speech he gives? Their needs to be a lot more separation between church and state for people all across the country to take this guy seriously. By the way, Benjamin Franklin was a well known deist and in no way a born again Christian.
If I ever mention Barr for president, why does everyone ridicule us Barr supporters, but when Baldwin is mentioned a lot of people bow down and worships every word he speaks?
One Thing To Remember
Chuck Baldwin was a pastor speaking to a Christian audience. This explains the prominence of Christianity is his speeches. I listened to him just the other day in Grand Rapids, and while he still mentioned Jesus and Christianity a couple times, it was certainly not as front and center. Jesus will always be present as it is a part of his character -- it is the foundation of his beliefs. The fact that he continues to present his views unapologetically shows that he is real and honest.
Baldwin is more generally supported on this forum, I believe, because he was such a strongly outspoken supporter of Ron Paul throughout his campaign, and he continues to promote Ron Paul even in his speeches today. He is a close friend of Ron Paul as well, so he has in a sense earned his position here.
I understand he's a pastor,
I understand he's a pastor, but Huckabee was bombarded in the MSM with trying to push his religion in one of his commercial ads during the Christmas season when there was a figure that APPEARED to look like a cross. Imagine the backlash if he were to actually make an appearance and speech in the MSM? He really needs to drop 99% of the pastor background if he wants to be the lead politician in a nation with a conglomeration of every religion.
I'm not a CP member
and I am still supporting Ron Paul.
However, regarding some of these comments about Baldwin, he is a religious man and has every right to speak as he wishes.
He can't overturn Roe v Wade, and that's a Supreme Court decision.
He can't make the country into a Christian nation, and that's something in the purview of the people, because that is not in the hands of gov't to do. He advocates for States' rights, which reduces the power of the Fed Gov to do what some here "worry about".
Vote for who you prefer. That's what elections are about.
Roe v Wade
Actually, you are wrong here. Ron Paul's Sanctity of Life Act would have done just that by defining human life as beginning at conception and removing the enforcement of this from the federal government and sending it to the states. This would have effectively silenced the Supreme Court on the issue as they are only enabled to interpret laws not create them.
And you are right -- he cannot make our country a Christian nation, and that is certainly not his intent. On the other hand, he can demonstrate Christian principles as an example and hope that people follow his lead. Our country could use a man of principles and integrity in the White House as our moral compass is pretty much lost today.
Well yes,
but what I intended to mean was that he can't do it "by himself".
It would take an act of Congress and his signature.
This should take some of the concerns off of some people who are attributing abilities to a President that are not solely within his power to exercise.
A Good Speach ..
Thanks for the link. I hadnt heard of the guy until this year so its good to see something about what he was up to years ago ...
The founding fathers were born again christians ?
Hardly - certainly not Jefferson, or Franklin, or Adams, or Washington.
This guy is scary. Jesus is for right to bear arms ? holy shit
Lets take jesus out of the mix, please. We have separation of chruch and state in this country. If the only way you can justify your natural rights is through Jesus, or the christian trinity, you are in deep shit, and your rights will be easily taken away.
I had respect for baldwin, but the more I hear about his core beliefs, its clear he is no freedom lover, rather he wants freedom for christians that are born again.
There was a story that in the 90s Lew Rockwell thought that the liberty movement could gain traction by recruiting the Baldwin types - turns out, the Baldwin types are gaining traction by co-opting the freedom movement.
The social-issue liberals
The social-issue liberals who are squeamish about the Bible are the ones who are attempting to co-opt this movement. It has been clear from the very beginning that Ron Paul is a Christian conservative.

Have to say I agree with you in some aspects. Ron Paul and Baldwin do have differences and the one which is very significant in my mind is their approach to religion as it relates to their poltiics. Ron Paul is a religious man he even wanted to enter the clergy at one time, but he keeps his religion private and separate from his public persona. Baldwin is way, way over the top for me and for many. As a president, one must serve all of the people, not just the Christians.
IT'S DOABLE
But Baldwin is a Pastor
Consider this for a moment: Chuck Baldwin is a pastor, so his whole life has been about presenting the Bible to people. Now as he enters politics, if he were to abandon this foundation in his life, would he not then become a fake and an impostor. Is that not what many of us have come to despise: people who claim to be Christian but do not actually believe or practice it. Baldwin at least practices what he preaches. He is honest about where he stands and why he stands there which is far more than most politicians can say.
Also, consider what his message actually is. What are his platforms? What are his plans for our government? What kind of legislation is he looking to enact? Has he ever said that the President is only serve Christians? Has he ever said that non-Christians are not welcome and accepted in our country?
Baldwin comes from a Christian background, and so his language will be couched in Christian thought and terminology -- but does that make his message any less powerful or right? Throughout the campaign, did his message not resonate strongly with Ron Paul? Ron Paul himself has said that Baldwin's ideas are "very close" to his own.
Are you going to condemn a man because of his beliefs? Is that not doing the very thing that you are accusing Baldwin of doing? He promotes the message of liberty and freedom unapologetically, with passion, and with consistency.
Of course I condemn someone for their beliefs
particularly if they run for president.
Maybe condemn is a bit harsh, but I do make judgements about people based on this, and tend to trust, and listen to those whose beliefs I respect.
I find Baldwins platform mostly good, I differ on immigration, gay rights, and to a small part on abortion. Of course Barr's platform is very similar, and I differ with him a little less.
So, their platforms, for me , are a push, so it boils down to their personal core beliefs.
at the core, Baldwin is a pastor, with some odd conspiratorial notions. He talks as if he believes people are out to get Christians - he spreads fear to motivate his followers.
Barr is more of a politician And, he had to hook up with that idiot Root. - He's much more political than I like - but he is not so much of a fear monger.
So, for me, if I have to choose between the two, it is a no brainer in favor of Barr.
