Breaking!! Nevada WIN causes GOP to rethink Ron Paul to be President
This is called false hope because its not true just as the fact that you can not nominate Ron Paul from the floor because of a Nevada win.
Nevada did an awesome job, and the revolution will grow and prosper because of people like them. However, the facts are that it takes 5 states to nominate from the floor.
Can anyone post those other 4 states.

Ride it out...
Maybe I'm just a little more patient than the rest of you folks... Everyone seems to have to make a decision as to what they will do with their vote now that RP has 'ended his campaign'. Will it be Barr or a write-in or just vote for Obama and get the 'party started', as it were.
I still see a long time between now and decision time. True the MSM is lobbying hard for their respective candidates and loads of sheeple hang on their every word. I can hold out until I step into the booth in November before making my decision. I'm a Ron Paul hold-out and I do not dismiss the idea that he can turn enough delegates between now and convention time to make this a very interesting fall... that is, if the entire country hasn't collapsed and we all have enough electricity to find out who's running!
I feel strongly that many McCain supporters have or will grow tired of the poor showing of the 'presumptive nominee'. I think if they are able to hear the message of limited government and individual freedom again, they may just change their minds. I think that is the purpose of Dr. Paul's little St Paul shindig down the road from the RNC.
So go run and play until Dr. Paul calls us all back in.
RP ended his campaign, which
RP ended his campaign, which makes sense as it is basically the end of the campaign/primary season.
But does ending his campaigning efforts also mean he has ended his candidacy? I don't think it does.
john2k that's not the point
The point is to point out lies that are not true or people that are pushing false facts.
If Dr Paul is indeed still campaigning he is going to need more than a month after the convention to win in the general election.
He would need to get after right now every day and the reality is he is not campaigning at all.
He is not collecting funds for the campaign, he is not running commercials, he is not saying to vote for him, but whatever.
I would suggest those that want to get the win in November to start gathering the 200 million plus to be able to compete with Obama and then to spend it all in a month -
I am a very optimistic person but this is silly
That is possible
But if the "chosen" delegates are anything like what came out of Missouri I would say its a very very long shot, the are more apt to choose the Huckster if the get disgruntled. The GOP is corrupt to the bone.
oh what fun it is to spread the truth
but hey its America nobody cares about the truth
Its true
Yea its true (needs majority though not win) but shut the hell up already i just got here today and have seen like 3 post of you bitching. 1 state down four more to go, its a step.
Nick not bitching
Idiots on here are trying to say Ron Paul is restarting his campaign and that we can nominate now because of Nevada win-not true. but a correction we also have Alaska because the flipped some people after the convention.
2 down, 3 to go ;)
2 down, 3 to go ;)
first of all, I've never
first of all, I've never heard if that rule was even true or not. Secondly, if it is, well, then we'll just have to get 5 states, won't we? Even if we don't get it at the state conventions, there's still the possibility of educating and convincing delegates to switch.
VOA. um...
You of all people being the voice of reason should know not to push bad information.
Whoever told you it takes 5
Whoever told you it takes 5 state wins was an idiot or you are just a blatant liar.
Really - I am a liar well here you go
See part (b)
RULE NO. 40
Nominations
(a) In making the nominations for President of the United States and Vice President of the United States and voting thereon, the roll of the states shall be called separately in each case; provided, however, that if there is only one candidate for nomination for Vice President of the United States who has demonstrated the support required by paragraph (b) of this rule, a motion to nominate for such office by acclamation shall be in order and no calling of the roll with respect to such office shall be required.
(b) Each candidate for nomination for President of the United States and Vice President of the United States shall demonstrate the support of a majority of the delegates from each of five (5) or more states, severally, prior to the presentation of the name of that candidate for nomination.
(c) The total time of the nominating speech and seconding speeches for any candidate for nomination for President of the United States or Vice President of the United States shall not exceed fifteen (15) minutes.
(d) When at the close of a roll call any candidate for nomination for President of the United States or Vice President of the United States has received a majority of the votes entitled to be cast in the convention, the chairman of the convention shall declare that the candidate has been nominated.
(e) If no candidate shall have received such majority, the chairman of the convention shall direct the roll of the states be called again and shall repeat the calling of the roll until a candidate shall have received a majority of the votes entitled to be cast in the convention.
(f) For the 2004 Republican National Convention, notwithstanding any other provision of these rules or any Rule of the House of Representatives, it shall be in the discretion of the Chair to suspend the roll call conducted to nominate the candidate for President of the United States at any time in order to conduct other Convention business under the established order of business.
It doesn't mean he wins five states
It mean he needs the majority of delegates from 5 states. this has been covered thoroughly already. Plenty of state conventions to go.
um ....winning the state convention is just that
I can count on one hand where we had a chance only Alaska and Nevada gave us enough delegates
I was a state delegate and I can tell you Missouri is out, but I would be happy to see what states are in play.
I'm still banking on Dr. Ron Paul
http://investor.saxobank....
Lysa and there is nothing wrong with that
Because that is a very big possibility.
However, those are the things we need to talk about, not a lie that Ron Paul is going to start his campaign back up because of the excellent job Nevada did. That is simply not true, as much as everyone would want to believe it.
So the bottom line is to have hope for things that actually can happen, but not to make up lies and give false hope to people that Ron Paul is starting up his campaign again because Nevada had a convention.
in the coming weeks
hundreds of millions of people will go onto the streets because of the financial collapse!
who will become the leader?
Ron Paul
maybe legalize
But that is a possibility, the fact that a Nevada win would cause Ron Paul to restart his campaign is not.
That is someone telling you a lie
As I said yesterday, you will not hear anything from Ron Paul, Jesse Benton or Debbie Hopper on Nevada, why? Because it will not cause Ron Paul to do anything different - they ended the campaign for President, they started the Campaign for Liberty.
You may hear what a great job Nevada did, and that is truth.
bedr1, masterful job of spreading lies
How many people will just see the topic headline, and smile and think "Wow, that is great" and then have the false hope you claim to be trying to dissuade? Your topic line is a straight out, intentional lie. Are you proud to have your name attached to that?
Really paul4w, then I guess you are not consistant
Because this post actually says its BS, while those posting the campaign will start back up because of the Nevada win are 100% lying.
So be consistant and go bash those responsible for outright lies that Ron Paul is starting his presidential campaign back up, or that he can be nominated from the floor with one state delegation or that he has enough delegates to broker the convention.
Ron Paul is my hero, I worked very hard officially for his campaign, and would like nothing more for him to announce he is running third party, but he isn't and for people to defend that he is starting his campaign back up and pushing this stuff getting people all hopeful is wrong.
Way to go NEVADA!!!!!
I'll hope that this good news will spread. On that I'll see everyone in DC the 12th of July and in St. Paul in september...

Just what I thought
Not one damn person can give me the four other states needed for nominating from the floor.
Go ahead and make this shit up as you go along.
I don't know why everyone on this site has to sensationalize everything, instead of just posting what is correct. Which should have been Nevada Ron Paul supporters show the way for the revolution.
soliloquize much?
Maybe you should wait for people to have a chance to respond.
Not that I'm exactly disagreeing with your PoV, but that's a separate point. ;-)
I do have one disagreement, and that is that I don't see it as a bad thing to continue hoping. Miracles do happen. The problem comes if we let that hope distract us into inaction, or divert our energy from important tasks. With the C4L not really rolling into action mode yet, I think we have extra energy to burn off ATM, so I don't think false (if it is false) hope re: the presidency is bad right now as long as we keep hammering on the other important races and projects too.

Prospector thats why I changed the title
I don't think people made the connection between false hope of restarting the campaign, and just hope over all. Ron Paul is NOT going to restart the campaign, and those people that are saying that are giving false hope.
The hope that we need to be pushing is have some miracle happen that our country has its liberty and freedom restored.
But in the mean time, we need to be joining Campaign for Liberty and moving in that direction or pushing various candidates that are running that are spreading the message of liberty.
