Why don't we cure the oil addiction?

We all need to get petitions going for legalizing hemp. Not the get you high maryjane, the hemp as a fuel, a viable material for clothing, rope, nets, sail-cloth, paper, car parts, etc, etc etc.
This is a great informative site:
http://www.hort.purdue.ed...
If we could just break the chains that bind us to oil we could tell all these blackmailing oil producing countries to go peddle their oil elsewhere.
Hopefully we could become a country exporting millions of products made from hemp. We could be a manufacturing nation once again instead of slaves to oil!
Footnote: a few days ago several acres of hemp were found growing wild in Oklahoma. The first news report had a man saying it wasn't pot... that the only thing you would get was a headache if you tried smoking it. But...... OMG, on a later broadcast as they were cutting it down!!!!: they reported it having a value of over a million dollars! What a waste of time and taxpayer money.

I think we should

have our money printed on hemp when the dollar tanks we can smoke it and we won't care. Peace

Did you know the Declaration

Did you know the Declaration Of Independance is written on paper made from hemp?

We need to replace Congress.

The solutions are there, but the oil producers have cornered the market by buying off politicians.

First order of business

When we turn this trainwreck around and get it back on the tracks we need hemp . It is so out there that a natural growing element is "outlawed" We need to start saving ourselves.

before it became illegal,

before it became illegal, the government actually required farmers to grow an acre of hemp. Dupont pushed for getting it outlawed. They then replaced many hemp products with plastics and chemicals.

Interest free hemp.

Why not money, the Federal Reserve has the right to just print it with paper, at least hemp grown at home would have real value.

much better than corn.

Hemp is much cheaper and wouldn't need to be subsidized by the government. Only thing that needs to be done is to allow it's free production.

Is hemp cheaper?

And less

addictive than oil lol

too funny!

too funny!

Yep!

Bump

good old days

A manufacturing nation...man, those were the good old days.

You can even feed it to your cattle.

All the research has been done already, just has to be implimented. The biggest problem is getting it past the oil mafia and government mafia. They certainly wouldn't want us to be able to produce our own energy and not be dependent on them.

I apologize in advance!

And happy cows give better milk. lol

This needs put on digg....and...

isn't there a site called petitionsonline or something like that? How would we/you/me/somebody go about starting a Petition??? (older, not very technology-savvy person here)....Somebody with the know-how needs to not only put this on digg, but have a link to the Petition site. Anybody??

Great topic by the way...

Thank you I am researching

Thank you
I am researching how to do a petition.

I've been talking to my

I've been talking to my family about hemp and its wonderful use. I told them that the first Levi's jeans were made from hemp, it's used to make things like rope and clothes, it's a good food source (I believe it has lots of nutrients), it doesn't contaminate the air and is the best fuel source. And it grows well around the world (well, 90% of it). I'm a strong supporter of it. BUMPETY BUMP!!!

Freedom from the oil companies.

Hemp is a fantastic crop, second to perhaps sugarcane which is not easily grown in the States on a large scale. Besides sugarcane requires periodic burning of the fields in South American productions. Hemp would be the best crop for ethanol production and eliminate our dependence on foreign and domestic oil. Which is called Freedom.

That's great

But some would still want to smoke it..LOL,but is there a method for turning it into fuel. And is it cost productive to do so?

United States Sustainable

United States Sustainable Energy Corporation has a biocrude production
process that can take organic matter and convert it into biofuels. While the amount of biocrude produced from any particular feedstock will differ, essentially any organic matter will produce fuel. While I don't believe hemp has been tested in this process, I am certain the amount of biofuel produced would be vastly superior to any gain now being realized from corn ethanol and traditional soybean biodiesel. This is a huge development, and just like anything else truly revolutionary in this country, the MSM will not mention it. Get the word out.

Very good news

I also often wondered why the landfills of this country were not utilized into producing methane gas.The trash decomposing gives off methane and most landfills just burn it off as a waste product. The landfill has an almost limitless supply of material, and could produce huge amounts of methane in larger cities,ie:Dallas,Houston,New York,Los Angeles,Chicago etc.

another good site

fuel

More affordable than ethanol from corn. One acre of hemp produces 3 times as much as an acre of corn and I think 10 as much as an acre of trees. Hemp needs no fertilizer or insect control. It is also good for the soil as it has very long roots that act to ariate the soil.

Who in their right mind would want to smoke it?

I agree hemp is much better than corn and can be produced by small farmers. It is a great cash crop, which will liberate us from the oil companies. It could even be used as money. I guess we just need to elect the right people who can't be corrupted by the lobbyists.
