Oil and global warming

Hey all! Enjoyed this site for sometime now, and I'm turning to all of you not for advise or information. I just want to see your opinion on these 2 things.
Now I could say I believe in Peak Oil and Global Warming, but the word believe doesn't put a finger on it.. These 2 topics actually blend into a... how do I put it.. a way to see what you guys thought process is. It could be about alot of other things, but these are my main ones.
Ok, I've been reading a few posts on here about oil and what not and wonder how some of you can pass off peak oil as crazy. Global warming for that matter as well. I'm not a geologist, scientist, or any other "ist", but I see how the mass deals (or lack of dealing with) these issues. So I've never flown a weather balloon to check CO2 levels in the stratosphere, nor have I done seismic testing on the deepest parts to the arctic circle. So I have no proof of anything.. Now my point. Peak oil isn't about running out, it's about oil getting harder to get.. or a.k.a. less production per year. So those of you who don't believe about either of these things. What do you look to for your "faith" in those things. I guess I'm an optimist, but being the man in the house (misses and 3 girls!!) and the only one with an income I cannot be ignorant to information. So at the moment peak oil (global) and GW are not proven. How can some of you ignore that "what if"????? The news today isn't all about Ron, Obama, Mcpain, or Bushy. But there are things that can be out of the president's hands no matter who takes office. Being I was a baby during the oil crunch of the 70's I can't speak for it, but I heard it was tough. Can anyone of you survive a total loss of income? A depression? The effects of peak oil? Or whatever else... dirty bomb, false flag, another war, WWIII, bird flu... whatever? Guess I see alot of folks just thinking things will always be good. How, just how can you do that with alot of facts that of course can point either way, but no one knows the outcome. Why not all prepare for something and if nothing happens then hey you'll probably be better reguardless.
Don't know if anyone understands what I'm asking, but I dwell on alot of different things these days.. There are alot of bad negative things out there. Also alot of spinning, lies, and deception. I try to keep a positive attitude, but have learned not to speak about these things b/c I'm crazy I guess. We are saving food, basically rice, pasta, vinegar... mainly the things we use alot of. I did buy some MRE's, but after the fact I don't think I'd buy those again.. Debt.. I'm working my collective ass off to get 100% debt free and start a small nursury (in case the JOB goes). We also have a large garden which was our 1st year and definately learned from our mistakes. So what are some of you doing? Those of you that don't believe the "hype" what are you going to do if it does happen? Are you going to come and steal from me or people like me if things get bad? My family (dad/sis) thinks I'm going overboard and I probably only have maybe 2 months worth of food. I have been told before that we all should have a years supply, but that's what my grandparents did. Should we all??

First on "Peak Oil" - do a little research on abiotic oil theory. It has validity and is the only theory that can explain the deep well production of the ruskies who base their exploration models on that theory. BTW, both biotic and abiotic oil are russian theories and bothe have an extent of viability as models.
Second - global warming has been occuring, but that is about to change due to many factors. Now, all these idiots spouting about the CO2 gasses we pump into the air and all of man's CO2 production accounts for only less than a tenth of the atmospheric CO2 that is being released into the atmosphere every year and CO2 is less than 1% of total atmospheric gases. The most predominant greenhouse gas is water vapor and accounts for over 90% of warming due to greenhouses gases. But the thing driving global warming more than anything is the sun is going through a warm cycle where it is releasing more energy to the solar system than normal. The warm and cool periods of the sun and their effects have been well documented by geologists using ice core samples and other geological data. I think that accounts for the global warming on Venus, Mars. Saturn, Jupiter and the rest of the gang of planets unless gobs of middle class tourists have been driving their SUVs on those planets during their vacations. What I have said here is verifiable through reputable scientific research and sources are abundant on the web.
To be sure, we have problems with pollution and it has to be resolved. We are poisoning our planet and basically shitting in the bed where we sleep. Solutions must be found, but to rely on the same governmental and corporate systems that brought us those problems is folly if not stupidity. The only true solutions to the problems mankind faces must come from the source where they have always derived - the creative agency which is the mind of man and that is something only accomplished on an individual basis. Want something done about it? Then get off your ass and do it.
Wish I had saved
all the videos and threads that dealt with your questions but from what I remember is the Global warming propaganda was on purpose in order to tax and take more of your rights away. You don't have to believe me just watch the propaganda coming from the tube. What does taxing the crap out of you have to do with saving the earth, it is bs? It sounds like you are doing the best you can and that is all any of us can do. I won't come get your food because I have my own and a garden. It won't be a Ron Paul supporter it most likely will be people who support the other candidates. Your family who think you are going overboard will be at you door looking for a handout. Once you start thinking like your ancestors you'll be alright. Peace and Wisdom to all of us for the uncertain and challenging times ahead.

you have reasonable reactions to the possibilties. What are MREs? Wish I was as prepared, Trying but it is hard to come up with extra for extra.
MRE's are Meals Ready to
MRE's are Meals Ready to Eat. What the military uses in the "stuff".. I bought 2 cases (almost $400). There's maybe 80 meals total. There's a variety of meals in pouches. You use small heaters like the one's for back pain to warm them up. The one I had I just stuck it in warm water to heat up. It was ravioli, it was alright, tasted like what I think generic chef boy R D would taste like. Next time I'll buy freeze dried foods from places like the ready store. Basically they freeze food, put it in a vacuum which makes the water go from solid to gas then the put nitrogen in the can. Stuff is good for 30+ years. MRE's are supposed to last that long, but their advertised life is 7 years. The freeze dried stuff tastes alot better and you can get anything from blue berries to beef stroganof to strawberries. Seems pricey until I checked our grocery bills. All food is expensive these days. And by the way all reading this alot of these food places have now been backordered since I ordered stuff 6 months ago.. Seems their sales have been through the roof. As for the MRE's there was a few extra companies after 9/11 but they shut down, and I'm sure they'll be or are back online.

But chonk I'm not made of money all I do is buy maybe $10 worth of stuff when we go shopping. Most guys go to the beer isle, but I'm at the rice/pasta/canned goods.. And it's never too late to put a little back.. Chef boy R D is onsale alot 10 for $10. If need be you can live on a can a day. Oh yeah I also store water. Have maybe 40 gals in jugs from the grocery store, but just got the best water storage system. A pool.. Sams club for under $300 holds 5000+ gals. The water is usable at anytime, but for drinking I'd probably get some and let it "marinate" to let some of the chlorine off gas for the taste. Just something to think about guys.
Guess I was over gloomy today. I'm stuck at work and the misses called this morning and she found our other car was broken into and the radio taken. My truck was gone through, but there's nothing in it so the only thing they could get is a roll of paper towels. Thank goodness they left my towels! Gotta be some humor in it.
