The 'Samson Option'
is the option of Israel to use nuclear weapons to wipe out the Middle East if their existence is threatened by hostile neighbors threatening to use (or using) nuclear weapons against them.. The idea is that they are not going to go quietly to slaughter as they did in Nazi Germany. They almost used it in the '67 war, but Providentially, the Arab nations took a break from the fighting due to some presumptions, and this gave Israel time to muster forces to fight conventionally.

Iran is huge
with almost 1,000,000 soldiers including reserves .They have some of the most sofisticated surface to air missiles available sold to them by the russians . It would be suicide to try to fight them, Our guys are depleted worn out and probably half mad by now. Not to mention the simple fact that we are broke and they are loaded.

I told my parents last night to not just dwell on having their beautiful veggie garden but to stock up on bulk foods and pay off debts and get all cash out of the bank....get into gold and silver.you might be able to survive.

I see the digging of graves not as a threat but as posturing.Iran doesn't really have the capability to inflict that kind of casulties on a invading American or Israel military.Again we are trying to attack a defenseless country.If our commander in chief had to stand on the front line and lead the charge as George Washington did I don't think we would have this sort nonsense going on.
US Army will loose
The US army is worn out and depleted. Had this been pre-afganistan, yes you could have walked all over Iran, maybe.
Iran has a larger population than Iraq and Afghanistan together. Though it has been under sanctions for a long time it has been able to trade with countries like Russia and China for weapons (and the USA as we all remember the Iran-Iraq contra deal lol..).
Also unlike Iraq and Afghanistan where noone came to their aid, Syria and Iran has a pact together. If one gets attacked the other will come to its aid.
So Bush better be ready to fight on many fronts, cause the syrian army is well trained. Though they dont have all those fancy gadgets and planes, they do have one thing, a well trained body able army. And USA is spread thin all over the Middle East.
Lebanon will go into Israel, and as we saw in 2006, they defeated the Israeli army and sent them home. Lebanon will act to defend Syria and Iran, forget the Sunni Shia baffle, when Iran gets hit, it will be Muslims united trust me.
The Iranian military is well armed, stocked up on tons of missiles (capacity to fire 11000 missiles in the first 5 minutes they are attacked according to a press release by their own army) and other weaponry from good old Russia. They dont need Russia or China, so even without them they will win.
But most importantly unlike the Iraq army they havent been bombed for the past 10 years, so they are intact and ready to go. And they are a well developed country, had it not been on the sanctions imposed on them for the past 30 years, they would have been one of the wealthiest and powerful countries in the world thanks to their oil.
This is beyond capability, the only question is once Iraq and Afghanistan falls in the Iranian and resistance fighters (the ones MSM calls "terrorists") will the USA/Israel nuke?

I didn't mean that they had no military,they do.But if we go to Iran it will be like Iraq,there will be a huge bombing campaign first,very little ground troops (that's were the casulties from).Also there have been talks of a nuclear strike.So when I said defenseless I meant in a fair fight scenario.But the idea with another country coming to their aid is a real prospect,and with our military decimated as it is that's where we would be in danger.And there are many who would jump at the chance if they thought us to be disadvantaged at any point,our policy makers have made enemies all over the world.And even though we don't agree with them they have put us in the target's site also.

Don't forget the statement Russia made 5 or 6 months ago. Russia publicly stated that any attack on Iran would be considered an attack on Russia.
In addition, there is the oil pipeline to Pakistan and India. China also wants to be involved in that pipeline. I'm not so sure any of them would be happy about any country destroying that infrastructure which will be essential to them.

My guess is that it will not be 3 weeks to take over the country as was done in Iraq, but who knows for sure.

Demolay has it right, feels more like 6 years to me, too. This is insane. We cannot let this happen again. Contact your congressmen and tell them to vote NO on House Resolution 362 which effectively makes George the king and gives him the ability to invade at will, and allows for unprecedented harsh sanctions against Iran harming only the ordinary Iranian citizen. That's US Diplomacy? Iran has done absolutley nothing physically agressive towards us or Isreal. Lets say what needs to be said, this is Isreals' fight not ours. This is not intended to be an anti-semetic statement, it just is what it is. And we wonder why they hate us.

Duh...well folks..Iran is well into the interior...so what do we do if Kuwait and/or other ME countries refuse to allow us to use their airspace in order to bomb Iran? We're not the only ones to have a say in this.
They pretend that most of these ME countries do NOT hate us..but they do..they do...and they don't want this country to use their land or their bases to attack their neighbors. Individually they're not much, collectively they are a lot.
Iran, Russia and China allied against us could wipe us out in a few days.
