Two questions concerning Nevada

Maybe these questions have been answered already on the many threads discussing the Nevada Convention:

How many delegates have been elected for Ron Paul ?

Do you think - if the GOP has to accept the results - they have to let him speak in St.Paul ?

Thank you for your replies.

Additionally

Just to add overkill to the subject:

On the Ira Hansen show he said; "I'll vote for McCain - I've always voted for the nominee". This was in respect to the question of how he's voted on his previous 4 trips to the national convention.

20 of 22 at-large

Mike Weber and his wife were elected. They're not RP supporters.

That's a total of 27 out of 31 possible.

I noticed at the Convention on the 28th

Mike Weber said "I started out this process as a McCain supporter"....to show that he was not biased for Ron Paul. He did not state that he was still a McCain supporter (he seems too intelligent for that...), but maybe you know this to be true now. I was just going by the only figures I had actually seem posted anywhere. Probably a guestimate at best. I have no idea about his wife, but both were instrumental in getting the process the NV GOP leadership started completed and we so appreciate there involvement.

IT'S DOABLE

I was listening to Mike

I was listening to Mike speak when the Camera (TV?) guy interviewed him. He stated very clearly for the camera "I am not a Ron Supporter and I never will be a Ron Paul supporter" it's so hard to believe because when you listen to him and watch the way he conducted your convention, it's so difficult for me to wrap my mind around how someone so ethical could support McCain and not Ron. Even if he agrees with the war in Iraq. That was true for Doug Parris here in Washington being an admitted warhawk, he was able to realize our country is in greater peril than us needing to go kick butt in another country. Yet Mike deserves all our praise and MAYBE he'll change his mind.

Mike Weber is a Party guy.

Mike Weber is a Party guy. Party, party, party. Whoever they go for, he'll support, I'm pretty sure. He likes to tell the story (!) of how he got to be a national delegate for Pat Robertson in 1988 . . . but then he ended up not voting for Robertson, because they asked him not to.

Party guy, all the way.

But he did an excellent job on the 28th, and has been fair and square with us about it from the start, so I'm not sorry he got elected. His wife is probably about the same.

Even though I was just an

Even though I was just an observer I agree with your sentiment. I was wondering though when It comes to him representing in a govt position will you support him knowing he'll always support his party. My husband and I were talking about that driving away from Reno. Of course it would depend on who he was running against for me. Tough choice (for me) when someone is so damn capable and fair but will vote party over conscience.

Thank you all

for this information.

Dr. Paul cured my apathy

there were 22 delegates and 22 alternates selected...

most if not all were Ron Paul delegates... (I am working on finding out exactly how many on this...as I know Mike Weber was elected as a delegate, and he was at least initially a mccain supporter), so I would say its probably between 15-22 delegates....

------ As far as letting him speak, he may now get nominated from the floor of the convention...(as it takes at least one state to bring it up, and 5 total to support that nomination) We are working on securing the last 3 states for Ron Paul.....(BTW if you want to help in that venture please post here so we know we can count on you...just emailing a bunch of people....)

Posted Yesterday here on another thread

Number of Ron Paul Delegates
On July 1st, 2008 LVRONPAUL says:
CD 1 = 1 out of 3
CD 2 = 3 out of 3
CD 3 = 3 out of 3

At Large = 22 out of 22

29 Ron Paul Delegates, this is the exact same result that would have occurred on April 26th if we would have been allow to complete the convention.

This was posted on the same thread as the very well written explanation post "Convention Judo - Nevada State Convention"

IT'S DOABLE

Dr. Paul cured my apathy

NV delegation

We're pretty sure the majority of delegates selected were Ron Paul delegates, although not a complete sweep.

I don't think the RNC will do anything they don't want to, I don't know if one state's delegation can force anything . . . but I'm not an expert on that.

And Ron Paul has said he WOULD accept the nomination.

We were guests t the NV

We were guests t the NV convention and MIke Weber (the chairman) says they will not know till 4 days before the national convention if these delegates will be accepted. Once the convention got started again and they made Mike chair and changed the rules, then there was a man who was concerned about the fact that he thought there was not a quorum due to the last count at the first convention, but Mike explained that since the convention was never adjourned then those that did not show were in dereliction of duty and therefore the new count was an official quorum.
Even though Mike made it clear he will fight this all the way to the RNC they may fight it (ya think?) but I tell you I got a kick out of the candidates for the National Convention they were SERIOUS about going. It was not like there was a lack of competition. Since they only got 15 seconds to speak it was fun to see how some people could not fit everything in and Mike would cut them off. I was sorry I didn't get to vote.
I really do not think they have to have RP speak and now I'm not so sure he'll accept anyway.

well C that is a pretty fair question?

and not being from Nevada I couldnt answer it accurately. But if the convention is accepted by the GOP and thats a big if we woulld have collected the majority of 22 or 23 delagates but I will let someonre from Nevada answer your questions more accuratly.

Thanks lancelot,

but anyone from Nevada ?
