Additionally, you proved your foolishness by attacking me as "obviously not a Ron Paul supporter." I guess my donations, work at the rallies, work at the polls, work as an assistant organizer of 2 Ron Paul Meetups, one-year-plus membership on this site, etc., was all a facade so I could masquerade as a Ron Paul supporter and fabricate misdeeds of Steve Parent.

Right. He didn't really bump his own thread, and the forum posting guidelines from credible activist Michael Nystrom don't really ban such bumping. Steve Parent didn't really post a thread about an interview on a website he is affiliated with, nor did his signature constantly promote that site and two others. And Steve Parent didn't really beg others to bump his self-promoting thread in the thread's title. No, all this is imaginary. The more logical explanation is that I'm not really a Ron Paul supporter, and I'm making stuff up to attack the benevolent hero, Steve Parent. Come on man, wake up.

Mr. Parent, you are out of line engaging in these word games.

I never suggested that a Ron Paul interview is unimportant. I never suggested that "bumping" (in general) a post of a Ron Paul interview was against the rules (though I could argue that all this bumping is silly, but I am not doing so). Your implication that I am somehow categorically against promoting Ron Paul's interviews is wrong, derisive, and offensive.

What I did object to, and still do, are three things.

1. You blatantly violated the rules of this forum by bumping your own thread, repeatedly. Considering that you're someone who (apparently) prides himself as an organizer and strategist capable of working within the laws and rules of the GOP, it's ironic that you aren't able to follow the simple rules of this forum.

2. Your thread, bumps, and "bump begging" were all designed to promote a site (several sites, actually, when you look at your signature) in which you have a financial and/or personal interest. I could make an argument that your signature alone constitutes spam to promote sites with which you are affiliated, but I'll leave my criticism on this point to "you're actively promoting a project you're involved in rather than something you feel -- in an unbiased way -- is worthy of attention. Call it "conflict of interest." If someone neutral posted a thread that said, "Hey, this interview is important and Ron Paul said some new and important things," that would be one thing. This is really self-promotion on the part of SGP.

3. This "bump begging" trend is asinine. Steve Parent isn't the originator of the trend, nor is he the only offender. But outsiders looking in and seeing threads that are childishly overenthusiastic and self-important like "@@@ OMG THIS IS THE 1 THREAD U MUST REED!!111 @@@" (that's an exaggeration, I know) are going to get a bad impression of us. If a thread evokes discussion and is therefore "naturally bumped," so be it. If a thread deserves to be moved to the front page, again, so be it. But soliciting mindless bumps to artificially increase exposure is just stupid.

Also: "we" thank you? Mr. Parent, I've seen you engage in activity on these threads (and seen threads about you), and I object to you going so far as to declare yourself a spokesperson for others in this movement. YOU may thank whoever you want, but as far as I can tell you have not been elected some spokesperson for the movement. Feel free to speak on behalf of yourself, but you have no place speaking on behalf of anyone else.

No - it isn't important. We don't bump all day interviews he does elsewhere and they give him a ton more exposure. I see you're calling yourself Dr. again. It never stops does it freakboy?
