Nueces County (Texas) Lawsuit Chip-In
We must support this Patriot. BUMP & BUMP Again We can't tolerate this criminality.

"Many of you are familiar with the details of what happened down here in Nueces County (Corpus Christi). For those of you who are not, here is a brief synopsis.
At my precinct convention, we elected 13 delegates and no alternates. Soon after my precinct convention adjourned, I was in the parking lot having a conversation with our former State Representative when our Precinct Chairman joined in on our conversation. She thanked us for coming and told us she was headed home to "go through the book" looking for people to add to our delegate list. We were allowed 29 delegates and she wanted to "fill in all the slots". I immediately thought this was strange. A few days later, I requested a copy of my precinct minutes from our County Chairman. I wanted to talk with fellow precinct delegates to see if they shared the same concern about our precinct chair adding people to our delegate list without a vote. The County Chairman refused to give me copies of the minutes or a list of the delegates elected from my precinct. During the same conversation, I asked him if I could sit in on the Resolutions Committee meeting (my State Rep recommended that I do so in an effort to better understand the convention process). Our county Chairman told me that the committee members had already been selected and that he was not going to give me the information about the meetings. Again, I thought this was strange. Within the next few days I discovered the "2006 Republican Party of Texas Rules" (http://www.texasgop.org/s...). After reading these rules, specifically rule 14 and rule 22b, I realized that all of the meetings are open to any delegate and that the precinct convention minutes are public record. I decided to email the County Chairman and ask again. Again, he refused. As a result, I filed a challenge (see attached Bertuzzi challenge).
On the day of our County Convention, as I was registering I noticed that indeed our precinct Chairman had added delegates to my precinct after the precinct convention had adjourned. I also noticed that I was not the only person with the same concern. Many others in different precincts were having the same problem. Here is the audio and explanation of what happened at the Nueces County Convention. http://youtube.com/watch?...
I also filed a writ of mandamus in an effort to get a copy of the precinct convention minutes for all precincts in Nueces County (see attached mandamus). Despite Tina Benkiser calling my lawsuit frivolous (http://youtube.com/watch?...), the court ruled in my favor and granted me access to all precinct convention minutes (see attached court order).
In reviewing the minutes received through the court order, here is what was found...
151 delegates were added to the temporary roll of the county convention who were NOT elected at their precinct convention (not elected as delegates or alternates)
35 delegates were added who did not vote in the Republican Party Primary (some of which voted in the DEM Primary, some of which are not registered to vote at all)
36 delegates were added by the Credentials Committee whose names are not on the temporary roll or on Exhibit "B" (elected delegates) from their precinct
Included in the 151 illegally added delegates are the following:
Chairman of the Credentials Committee, Kendall Peterson
Chairman of the Nominations Committee, Art Granado
Chairman of the Permanent Organization Committee, Al Torres
Chairman of the Resolutions Committee, Victor Bird
County Convention Secretary, Angelica "Angie" Flores
SREC (SD 20) Representative, Bob Jones
11 Total Convention Committee Members
8 Republican Candidates
233 delegates were present at the Nueces County Convention. 155 delegates were illegally added (not elected at their precinct).
98 of the delegates present at the County Convention were legally elected.
As a result of the events at the County Convention, 46 delegates participated in a rump convention. (almost half of the legally elected delegates)
Gary Polland, Debra Medina's attorney, has agreed to take our case. The goal with the court case is to nullify the Senatorial Caucus (SD 20) and Congressional Caucus (CD 27) that were held by illegally elected delegates from Nueces County (these took place at the state convention). We are also seeking punitive damages from those who are responsible for the events of the Nueces County Republican Convention and the violations against our civil rights. All of the money donated will be used for attorney fees and filing fees. In the event that we raise more money than we need, it will be donated to a general legal fund for any state wide lawsuits involving the same issues.
The ChipIn link http://fairconvention.chi... We need $50,000 to start. Details and updates on the lawsuit will be posted on fairconvention.org. We are also in the process of putting together a website specifically for the Nueces County Convention with copies of all of the evidence of our case for anyone who would like to see it. I will send out a notice to everyone once that website is ready.
Feel free to contact me with additional questions. Please forward this information to anyone you think should have it."

Another BUMP!
Vanessa will take this to its conclusion.
is this article a cut and
is this article a cut and paste, or is it actually posted by the person who says: "at my precinct convention"
without clearly identifying who is stating "at my precinct convention", or whether or not the poster is one in the same....it makes it difficult for me to pass this on to friends who don't read this forum.
first question that will be asked "you were at the precinct convention"
then I'll have to stop and explain, no...it wasn't me, it was Vanessa. Except from the posting, I can't be certain of that. Perhaps it was "Lazy Chair"..., or perhaps Vanessa was posting it for another person.
Maybe Vanessa and Lazy Chair are the same people. Maybe neither were the actual parties involved with the parking lot incident.
Got to make this stuff clear. Who is who, what and where.
dfwrider is correct
This is a cut and paste from an e-mail that Lazy Chair received directly from Vanessa Cahill. I am proud to know her. She was the lead plaintiff in a Mandamus lawsuit against the Nueces Republican Leadership. She and her supporters have first hand knowledge of the events that transpired in Nueces County. I will gladly answer any further questions. I did remove her phone # from the post and Vanessa is aware that it was posted on the daily paul. We need your continued support.

Please donate for me
This is exactly the kind of cause we should support. The only thing worse than too many rules and regulations is authority flouting them at will.
I can't donate because I really don't think it would help the cause if a Libertarian Party member donated. If the donors' names come into court, it really would not help if "outsiders" were among them.
Freedom lovers in the GOP have my support otherwise. Up to and including any word processing support I could give to help cut costs.

Best I could do. Why not do up all the legal papers without an attorney. Why not post here for someone to help you out instead of an attorney

You guys are not letting them get away with this garbage and as an American, I appreciate your efforts in showing the Party that they will NOT be ignored, like Bush and Cheny seem to be, as they commit their Crimes against the People. GOOD LUCK, and I hope the attorney is reasonable to you, as $50,000 is a lot, but if you win they will have to pay court fees..
