Ready for a complete collaspe.
I was wondering if anyone here is ready for a complete collapse in America, and what they are doing to prepare for perhaps this scenerio happening.
Where will you get food if stores close? If chaos breaks out will you be able to protect yourself and family? What are you doing to prepare?
Things to think about if a meltdown comes.

Just bought an inverter
I didnt know what one was 6 months ago. Plan on running my sump pump off a battery as we are losing power after each storm quite regularly. Plan on buying a couple solar panels to keep the battery charged.
Way to prepare for
Way to prepare for anything.
Yes if I can I will be building a solar power system to generate some energy from.

You may want to get ready REAL FAST!! Look!
You may want to get your money out of the Bank fast and get it into silver and gold sooner than later...
Here is the press release. Fortis Bank from what I understand is a huge Bank, so this should not be taken lightly!!
Fortis Bank predicts US Financial market meltdown within weeks
American ‘meltdown’ reason for money injection Fortis.
28th of June, 9:10
BRUSSELS/AMSTERDAM
- Fortis expects a complete collapse of the US financial markets within
a few days to weeks. That explains, according to Fortis, the series of
interventions of last Thursday to retrieve € 8 billion. “We have been
saved just in time. The situation in the US is much worse than we
thought”, says Fortis chairman Maurice Lippens. Fortis expects
bankruptcies amongst 6000 American banks which have a small coverage
currently. But also Citigroup, General Motors, there is starting a
complete meltdown in the US”

BRUSSEL/AMSTERDAM
Easy...I live on a farm.
Easy...I live on a farm. It's paid for. We raise our own food, and we have lots and lots and lots of guns with lots of ammo. Also you gotta know is how to make your own ethanol still for booze and to fuel your vehicles and you are set.
Make your own ethanol...
We're closing on 40 acres in a couple of weeks, and we plan on homesteading the place and opening a veggie stand at home and the farmers market. So where would we find some good information on making your own ethanol? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Quick Reference
For all the basic survival skills. Copies of the book have been read and kept in my family for a very long time (since the original first edition).

It covers just about anything you could imagine needing.
Exercise your 2nd Amendment right
If you don't own a gun I would strongly urge to think about exercising your right to own one.
Unfortunately, in a choas scenerio you just might have to protect yourself and your family.

A Couple Thoughts
Here are some ideas for preparing. These are not really mine but rather a collection from the various posts over the past year on this site:
If you like the keyboard,
you could sell your present one and find one that will take batteries.
Libera me, let the truth break, what my fears make--Leslie Phillips
Nope
I have an 88 key fully weighted keyboard, and I don't believe they sell those with battery support. I am a bit of a perfectionist in my sound, and a lot of my songs use the full width of that keyboard. I'm not sure I would be happy with the compromises. ;-)
I would probably rather buy a real piano anyway. Just don't quite have the funds for that yet.
Besides, a guitar is very portable.
I just thought of another
I just thought of another even more important problem... batteries may not be terribly easy to come by either -- if a complete collapse comes.
Stock up on liquor
You'll be amazed at how much value will be placed in a bottle of vodka if society breaks down.
It also lasts forever and a day.
Better still...
Learn how to make a still. A small one can be constructed for under a hundred dollars and the product of which can be used for entertainment, medicine, and fuel.
Wolfe
Where do you get the information to make a still? Been wanting to do that for sometime now. Hope you see this.
The internet is still a wonderful thing.. :)
Actually if you do a search on google for "How to make a still" you will get a plethora of sites on how to build it. The basic components are a boiler, copper (or glass) pipe and tubing, a heat source and a collector (large bowl, jug, etc).
It's been a while since I found the site that I used, so I can't direct you to the specific site unfortunately.
The only tricky part is finding a hardware store that carries 2" copper tube that is willing to cut it short for so you may be forced into buying an entire length even though you won't need it all.
LOL
Yeah...good point.
No matter how hard i've tried, though...I simply can't make anything that compares to Grey Goose.
My plan was get to the country
I believe things will be doable in the country. Gardens, chickens, cows, guns for game, fuel, generator/inverters/alternators, wind mill, alternate sources of water, etc... even a stash of silver just in case.
But if you live in the city.......
"The day is coming, burning like an oven, when all the wicked will be stubble"
Make a 3 to 7 day pack
First I would make a 3 to 7 day pack of food and other necessitiesto carry in car or at home for when or if things do collapse. You at least will not be in the choas of the intial shock that will hit in the first few days of event.
People now more than ever it's time for you to rely yourselves and on the skills God has placed in you. Start weening yourself off the teets of government now not tomorrow. If nothing bad does happen your still better off than relying on gov, and the world as we know it now.
Get rdy and be prepared for anything.

If one is truly resourceful
If one is truly resourceful they can survive with a knife, a rope and a piece of plastic..sounds like a Hitchcock movie I know..
Oh and a good survivalist book to implement the tools.
Peace,

Thanks Granny
I wish I could be there with you.
Another goodsite Granny is Survivalistboards.com.
The guy who owns this site is a great guy, and I truly believe a RP supporter.
This site will get you thinking about preparedness and has great discussion on being prepared for anything.
