The problem I have with empowering the government with solving the problem of those in our country who are illegal is that they may decide to do a house to house paper check, like they did in Germany. If you don't have your papers in order you go to the camps, FEMA camps, so it could basically be used as an excuse to tag everyone and give them a number.

But, if working illegally is wrong, then couldn't the State decide that people who employ illegal immigrants be deported as well? Think of the war on drugs and the extra powers it claims over people lives and property.
I really think this is a matter of individual choice. If you know of a business that employs illegal immigrants then make your complaint to them, don't buy from them and tell everyone you know that they are doing something you disagree with. I just think getting the government involved is empowering an already uncontrollable beast.

I recently moved out of maryland which now is practically a sanctuary state. The number of illegals has risen tremendously over the past couple years, and taxes are insanely high. I now live in North Carolina, where they want illegals to receive in-state tuition. I have been stationed in NC for 4 years and I can't even get in state tuition yet.
7% sales tax is kind of killer, but the property taxes are still less than maryland. the price of gas is still cheaper.
you can manage with 40-50% tax rates, but who wants to? you can 'manage' under communism, but i think you can manage a thousand times better under a free market uninhibited by high taxation

Yes, if a state starts massively jacking it's taxes...
then the individual taxpayers are going to be poorer. But in Canada tax rates are 40-50% and people can manage fine without going bankrupt.
