Utterly EMBARRASING!!!

How we have 26 candidates running on the freedomslate08 and can only manage to raise $16,000 for them. This is a huge chance to make a difference in congress and we cant get these men and women more support than this. Thank God we won our freedom over 200 years ago because we surely wouldnt have the heart or tenacity to gain our freedom now!!!

Give people a break

this is a terrible time to be asking for money. Crying out loud our crazy leaders are about to start WWlll and there's not a damn thing that will stop them. Give people this one weekend to enjoy their family and just be. Everyone needs a break from the stress, a furlo (sp) so to speak. I appreciate your stamina but some of us are just asking for this rest without being made to feel guilty. This stuff will be here Monday and get gung ho all you want. People are trying to recover financially and emotionally. Peace

I agree. While this is very

I agree. While this is very important I am all tapped out. I just got back from the NV convention and a road trip.I have donated my time and money heavily. I have already donated $200 to Michael Delevar. There will be more but this is not the day, and I too need a rest.

We need a real time donation thermometer

I think one of the most brilliant tactics by the Ron Paul campaign staff was the use of the real time thermometer for donations. When it was adopted by all the Ron Paul forum websites, it became a mesmerizing tool to encourage donations. How cool was it to donate, watch the thermometer rise immediately, and then see your name scroll across the screen?

I was hoping that something similar could have been implemented for the Congressional candidate moneybomb. I realize this would have been very difficult to coordinate with all the candidate websites, but with all the computer wizzes in this movement, I'm surprised someone couldn't have come up with something like this. Maybe even just a single thermometer showing donations for all the candidates combined.

At the very least, it would have been very helpful if there was a sticky on the front page of Daily Paul showing the results of the moneybomb throughout the day. For that matter, since the moneybomb is still officially going on, is there any reason why a sitcky for the up to the minute results can't be added to the front page here now?? Michael??

I take my marching orders from the Constitution!

Matching Funds from CFL?

Is there a reason that Campaign for Liberty couldn't match the funds we raise? I mean, I thought thats part of what it is for? Also, for instance...it would be great if they would do that for the dvds for delegates program also!

Thank you. Guilt tripping

Thank you. Guilt tripping is a perfect method to convince people to donate. Now let me look at my bank account.... oh it's empty.

State the Incumbent

They would bring in more money if they would state the incumbent they're trying to unseat.

People are more likely to give to candidates that are running against a known enemy. I'd give money to a three legged dog if it ran against Harry Reid.

There needs to be a "Buy in" process for each....

candidate. They need to introduce themselves to the Revolution through articles, youtube etc. and then there needs to be better promotion for the moneybombs.

Just setting a date and sending out an email in NOT enough. That is why so few participated. Where are the platforms, the meetings, townhalls, press releases, etc.

yes,

And there should be an endorsement by the man Ron Paul.

Stay positive

It's hard to focus on one thing with so many out there now. I am getting literally hundreds of requests for money per month. I've donated to chuck baldwin and barr, kent snyder and two gun groups, downsizedc, just in the last few weeks. My next is to the campaign for liberty. So many groups are ramping up their efforts that the focus is becoming very wide.

I think after witnessing the

I think after witnessing the marginalization of Ron Paul, the defeat of Murray Sabrin and Singh, people just kind of lost their gusto. It seems pointless to just throw money away on candidates that won't win because the system is rigged and the electorate is stupid.

Singh seemed fishy to me

I'm glad he didn't win.

I agree

This is the same reason why the Campaign for Liberty membership is only inching forward.

People have an extremely short attention span. They want to work as little as possible, so they're only willing to contribute to the presidential candidate.

They also know nothing about politics, and in their minds the president is some sort of king -- so they forget all about electing the other types of representatives, who are actually more important in the grand scheme of things.

Sad, bad true

Dr. Paul cured my apathy

agreed

Libertarian mind set BBQ and pubs more important than activism...

at this point the membership in CFL should be in hundreds of thousands...

Bump

.........

as I mentioned before- MANY STROM

Fortune Favors the Bold

I think it would REALLY help if the CFL itself had a list of the candidates.

I have no idea what you are talking about.

Try educating as a tactic.

I think

it has a lot to do with lack of advertising, i hardly ever hear about liberty candidates.

Look a little closer

At the bottom...where it says this is a for profit endeavour. I'll donate directly if I'm donating... why would I give my money to BTM when they can't even mention the Revolution March or the Freedom Festival?

They just don't seem to get it... and maybe this is a lesson for them.
In my humble opinion, BTM forgot where their bread was buttered.

I am still behind the candidates and I hope to see at least a few of them at the March on the 12th...

Looking Closer

If you go to the FreedomSlate08.com website, you'll see that this multi-candidate money bomb event is organized by Break the Matrix, but, when you click the donate button next to the candidate(s), you are taken directly to the candidate's own website where you make your actual donations. The donations aren't going to BTM.

The official money bomb event has been extended to July 7th, btw.

you donate to the candidates directly

Each candidate is supposed to have a feedback mechanism to report their donations from the day back to the FS08 site. At least, I think that's how it's supposed to work.

I don't think you'll find any disappointing positions held by Michael Delavar (but YMMV, of course). He's the one I know best.

As for the low total, I know at least one candidate didn't have a mechanism to report their donations automatically back to the FS08 site, so it could be that we're missing some of the real total. If not, then I agree that this is a disappointing total and we need to improve. However, I'm still very appreciative of anyone who did donate -- and of all the candidates themselves, for running.

My brother inlaw is running

for an office and he is also a national Ron Paul delegate. He stands for every single thing that we do,so my family has been funding him as much as we can.
I wonder if it is to late for him to get on the freedomslate?

is his name

on paulcongress.com?

Personally, I was not very inspired by any of the RP republicans

I mean, I can't think of one who was as or more principled that Ron. They always seem to hold a lousy view on at least one issue or another.

Also, I think people were cautious of donating more money to the candidates after the Sabrin failure. Sabrin got a lot of hype that he was going to win, but what he did get? Like 24%? Very disappointing.

That's my 2 cents.

What the hell?

So you only contribute to people who are going to win? These people (by definition) don't even need your contribution, so why bother?

This is a self-defeating strategy that ensures no new candidate ever gets elected.

A very understandable position...

However, RP is one-in-a-million. Very rarely do we see a person stick to their principles through thick and thin, personally and professionally. And it is just as rare that we may find someone who we agree with 100% on every issue.

Despite any disagreements we may legitamatly have on certain issues, we share with these candidates the philosophy of freedom and liberty. These candidates are continuing to spread this message and are continuing the movement which Ron Paul sparked. All of this at a time when this message is desperatley needed throughout our country, if we are to save its future from tyranny, our monetary system, and globalism. I believe we all can agree on this, and I believe we should put aside any few minor disagreements we may have, and do what we can to support these people. Let's give Ron Paul some friends in Congress.

BTW...I personally believe the candidates we need to focus on are BJ Lawson (endorsed by Ron Paul), as well as Collins Bailey (also endorsed by Ron Paul), who is giving House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer all he can handle.

Lawson

won his primary with almost 71%. Do you only support candidates with whom you agree 100%? YOu also cannot compare them to Ron Paul, they have yet to enter politics in congress, while ZDr. Paul has many decades of experience. Maybe many people were out with their families, and not aware. I have seen they have extended it till Monday, the 7th. They should have made it a few days in the first place. We can still promote it via meetup groups, your friends, family etc.
You need more money to run for senate. Sabrin would have won perhaps if the establishment were not out against him and it would have been good if he has some congressional experience. In any case, he managed to our support from 5% on Super Tuesday to 14%

Sabrin + principles of candidates

Sabrin being a libertarian-leaning Republican, I wasn't surprised that the GOP establishment was vigorously opposed to him.

But, I think his results were still very dismal. I mean he was endorsed by RP and he received a lot of national publicity on the LewRockwell.com website. That's a lot of publicity.

Regarding principles, I would think a candidate would tend tend to be more principled before sitting in Congress. Because once they're in Washington corruption of their views tends to occur.
