What if

Well hell they aren't even hiding it.

Does anyone know which sneators are the ones saying this aloud?

Make a list that way when the time to vote comes around it can be used against them in campaigning.

Memo to those knuckleheads in congress who actually believe...

nuking Iran would be such a swell idea:

1. The nuclear fuel rods are already in place at the Russian-built power plant.

The reactor is almost completely assembled. If this facility is nuked, there will be a huge radioactive cloud which could affect our troops in Iraq (depending on the prevailing winds).

2. The Gulf of Hormuz would be completely shut by the Iranians, probably collapsing the world economy.

3. Our troops in Iraq will be sitting ducks for Iranian-backed insurgents and then Iranian troops in Iraq.

4.Critical air, sea, and land corridors into and out of, Iraq will be closed, with no way to get troops or supplies to the area.

5. This little "exercise" may well start World War III.

And if I were a member of congress, there's one question on which I would have to ask, and this is the 6-ton elephant in the living room in this issue, sitting on the Steinway piano: just what is Russia prepared to do to protect her geopolitical and trade interests in Iran?

I don't believe that Russia...

or China for that matter will sit idly by.

It is now clear to the entire world that this war is all about oil.

Russia and China

have huge economic interests in Iran...huge contracts and last but not least Russia sold Iran the most sophisticated weapon systems

Here's an idea: let's check the Constitution!

Someone please, please, PLEASE read this post and share your thoughts! I think it's really very, very important, or I wouldn't be so insistent.

You know what, a nuclear strike or other first strike on Iran would be far less likely to happen if we were using primarily State militias, as provided for in the Constitution! Whyfor? Because only a portion of the force would be federally-led; the majority would be run by the individual states!

Just as individual states are saying NO to Real ID, individual states could say NO to sending their forces in for such boneheaded military activity!

A big part of the problem seems to be that all the military today is run on a federal basis, thus doing the Commander-in-Chief's bidding, regardless of the implications, or whether it's right or wrong -- "just following orders." I rather suspect THAT's why our Founding Fathers put in the directives about the militia in Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution, so the states could check and balance the federal powers!!

We have the wrong electoral system.

That's why these reforms won't happen.

The problem is elections. The elites control the elections. Get rid of elections and you solve the problem. Replace the current system with Direct Representation:

1) Give every citizen one vote.

2) Give politicians power according to the number of people who vote for them.

3) Give people the opportunity to change their representative if he votes wrong.

Direct Representation

I think that the big reason that America has devolved into an empire is because the republic has been hijacked by the richest most evil criminals on the planet.

I think that the number one reason that these super rich criminals have been able to get away with so much is because they have been able to purchase all of the mass media and thus control the minds of the masses.

In the past, you would need to be rich in order to afford to purchase mass media power such as a newspaper or a T.V. or radio station.

Fortunately for us all of this is coming to an end.

The elite knows that its days are numbered because of the internet. Anyone can put up a website that anyone in the world can visit. New generations are abandoning traditional media, and pretty soon the transition will be complete.

Ron Paul is already the president of the internet, and once the old media is completely shed, then a man like Ron Paul will be voted president of America.

I just hope that America will continue to exist long enough for that to occur.

Cripes.

When gentle-speaking Ron Paul says this news, my internal alert meter needle shoots into the red zone.

While he tells it like it is, he often understates things to present issues in a less threatening manner. Not so this time. And I think about his recent missive, wherein he states, "I’m fearful that my concerns have been legitimate and may even be worse than I first thought. They are now at our doorstep. Time is short for making a course correction before this grand experiment in liberty goes into deep hibernation"....

Gulp.

Russia stated months ago

Russia stated months ago that any attack on Iran would be considered an attack on Russia. So these members of congress are actually willing to risk war with Russia as a result of attacking Iran. Maybe the Russians were bluffing, but who can know for sure. And if we fire off a nuke, what will the Russians do? We know they still have tens of thousands of nukes as well.

And consider India, Pakistan and China's obvious issue with all of this. If we blockade Iran we will also be blocking that oil pipeline that those 3 countries have planned with Iran. So we get in the way of China getting the oil that they need -- what will China do to us? China has the power to literally bring us to our knees without firing a shot, all they would need to do is stop lending the US the billions per day that enable us to keep afloat.

All this Iran stuff is just bad news. Americans need to wake up and do it quick.

this is extremely serious

every day and night it could happen.
I hate to imagine our life AFTER.

let me underline words of Ron Paul;

Paul believes from talking with his contacts in and around Congress that a strike on Iran has already been green lighted.

What we have become

You would think after all we've been through, we wouldn't even joke about nuking another country, but to consider it as an option; crazy.

INSANE!!!!

This is beyond upsetting,i cant tell you how much this sickens me.

The fact alone that members of congress say that "Iranians are bad people" is ridiculous, the people of Iran are simply victims of the of the nutjobs who govern them..hmmm..that sounds familiar doesn't it?

NEVER in my life time did i expect to hear the term "nuclear warfare" bandied around so nonchalantly.NEVER.

"But you won't fool the children of the revolution
No you won't fool the children of the revolution, no no no - yeah!"
