1st when talking about population growth in order just to hit equilibrium, meaning replacing what is already here, each person here today has to replace themselves. This is what it takes to get to zero. Then from there up you have growth. This man doesn’t even mention this. Well I’m not an ameba so I don’t replicate. I have to have a female to do this, so to get to zero we need to have two children to replace ourselves. Nothing says we need government to decide this for people most people in America only want two children. Actually the most of our population growth in this country comes from our huge immigrations floodgates that needs to be shut down. Nothing wrong with using immigration in a responsible manor and keeping our population steady with immigration for any short comings other than that close the gate now.

2nd The part where he talks about oil is so full of logic and reason. I don’t disagree with his formula. When applied to the right starting point it works quite nicely. I also do not have a problem with the idea of his formula shining the light on the fact oil will run out if we pump out a finite amount of oils with a growing population. If you’re buying what he’s selling it sure is scary. Really fills a person with “fear”. Now that’s what he’s selling with his starting off place (logic) and his formula (reasoning). First the starting off place, this guy trust the government and the media to be telling the truth about the numbers. The man even questions whether the reporters are telling the truth so he rights them a letter they send him a letter back that talks about something else. Then he still is setting in a classroom using their numbers as his starting off (logic) place. See this your typical carnal “knowledge” His logic is void of any knowledge and it leads to a deception of the understanding. In which it is incapable of ever becoming wisdom. Doesn’t matter if his formula is right. Garbage in = Garbage out. What does he think that the oil industry is a bunch of people who do not know his formula? This is the very formula used for making money on interest. HELLO! If you can make 7% interest on your money you double your money every 10 years this is no secret formula. I didn’t even have to go to school to learn this. I use to go to work with my dad (who is a builder) every summer and he taught me this formula the whole time I grew up. I mean I was like 9 or 10 years old when I learn this. He even goes as far as to tell the story of how the media took the number of 500 years and mixed it with the at present rate of growth. He goes on to say how stupid this is for them to do then he does it himself. What a hypocrite! Only instead of doing it deliberately he seems to be doing it out of ignorance. Like that makes a difference in the bottom line! The end result is still wrong and it still deceives people with false numbers at the end that still causes people to have fear. He assumes that he is all knowing and that huge oil companies are all stupid. Big mistake bro! If the projected oil reserves were actually what he said they are you would see mass migration out of the oil drilling business, because these billionaires know how to do basic calculus. Maybe his formula would be interesting if he knew that they are now stating to discover that there is a whole separate ecosystem deep in the earth and these life forms are actually producing oil every second of the day.

This guy is going to actually be aloud to patent a life form that he claims he has made guess what they have been there all along. The same thing they are doing with patenting seed.

They want the plants CO2. It doesn’t matter if you need the plants to eat as long as they get their oil that you seem so pleased to pay even $10 a gallon for. Even though it is replenishing and now they don’t even have to go find the little buggers they can farm them now in old oil wells. The little guys can do their business and then pump it up so you can pay top $ for it and be scared every day that it might run out. Then everyone can set around and thank them and worship them for letting their pets eat the CO2 and then they can crap you out a drop of oil. That’s right you run your cars on micro turds!

Come on people wise up don’t fall for this garbage. I think the revolution needs to have money bombs and by a bio lab and a deep earth oil rig and a piece of land that still has its mineral rights and go microbe hunting beat them to the punch. Oh and we would have to alter it with a superior gene that would always be dominate so when they mat with their microbes they would all turn into our. Here is truth the global government wants to charge the people of the planet a CO2 tax for burning oil that oil is burned up and carbon dioxide comes out of your exhaust pipe. Then the sun breaks that carbine dioxin down into CO2. See mass doesn’t ever go away it only changes into another form like water, ice, steam. They want to use your money to collect the CO2 back out of the air using your money and put it back in the factory (the same well it came out of). Then they will let the same organisms that broke it down the first time do it’s magic again. At this point they have zero invested see you pay for it not them. Of course they claim to have created this life form that broke it down in the fist place so they can now put a patent on it and no one else will be able to compete with them. Then once the microbe breaks it back down into oil they pump it back up probably also at your expense and sell it to you for only God knows how much because we are running out of it. Now if that isn’t a racket I don’t know what it is. Its always the same people in on this type of stuff. They are traitors of the common man to the 10 power.

I don't accept that this presentation is all there is to say about these subjects. Sure, there is a limit to how much "growth" can be sustained. But that limit can be stretched somewhat by advances in technology (and, economically, more things which are technologically possible become economically viable as desperation increases), and that stretching softens the landing, allowing us *some* more time to transition to... whatever comes next, as the fabled "12:00" moment nears.

Bartlett isn't the only wise man in the world, nor is his perspective the only one possible.

To get ahead of energy cost problem, it will take finding and using any energy we can, including more oil.
It will have to be a comprehensive plan.
