Help me refute arguments that Dr. Paul is a racist
A post made on DailyKos (A propaganda blog, yes, but many seem to think its an objective primary source), cited on me by an Obama Supporter to try and weaken Ron Paul support:
"Regardless of what the media tell us, most white Americans are not going to believe that they are at fault for what blacks have done to cities across America. The professional blacks may have cowed the elites, but good sense survives at the grass roots. Many more are going to have difficultly avoiding the belief that our country is being destroyed by a group of actual and potential terrorists -- and they can be identified by the color of their skin. This conclusion may not be entirely fair, but it is, for many, entirely unavoidable.
Indeed, it is shocking to consider the uniformity of opinion among blacks in this country. Opinion polls consistently show that only about 5% of blacks have sensible political opinions, i.e. support the free market, individual liberty, and the end of welfare and affirmative action.... Given the inefficiencies of what D.C. laughingly calls the "criminal justice system," I think we can safely assume that 95% of the black males in that city are semi-criminal or entirely criminal.
If similar in-depth studies were conducted in other major cities, who doubts that similar results would be produced? We are constantly told that it is evil to be afraid of black men, but it is hardly irrational. Black men commit murders, rapes, robberies, muggings, and burglaries all out of proportion to their numbers.
Perhaps the L.A. experience should not be surprising. The riots, burning, looting, and murders are only a continuation of 30 years of racial politics. The looting in L.A. was the welfare state without the voting booth. The elite have sent one message to black America for 30 years: you are entitled to something for nothing. That's what blacks got on the streets of L.A. for three days in April. Only they didn't ask their Congressmen to arrange the transfer."
I don't quite know how to go against this, to be honest. I need some help.

haha
I'm glad to bring that one out from under the rug.
The problem is
that Dr. Paul tends to talk so much bigger than most people understand. You know with equal and all we are dumbed down! As a people most have a hard time understanding his message ( I do think this was one of his stumbling points) I had the patience to listen to him over and over ( I really had to - most do not) his message was so over my head.
We are use to Government taking care of us, you have to step back to see that a Rose garden is fertilized with SHIT.
I am not saying he is racist, but most of the people who are recieving all of the suppliments AMERICA has to offer are generally of a minority status. So of course of Ron Paul wants to cut those bene's he must be racist. It doesn't matter that it's our tax dollar that is paying for them.
There was a Nightline thing several years back that exposed several people who were getting the check from welfare and other supplimental income, selling drugs at the corner, doing all kinds of illegal things to earn incomes -- all off the books and making about 50,000 a year.
I am not racist, but I do know that we have created a system that allows muchers -- and it is colorblind! There are (to me) as many whites, blacks, hispanics, etc that do this.
I ran a toys for tots program for 20 years and we would have people sign up for toys and would show up driving excursions, expeditions and lexus. One guy showed up wearing a 300.00 pair of boots. We were appauled.
Dr. Paul is not racist. He just appreciates those who contribute to society and wants to further their benefits.
Supporters of ron Paul should know this is false.
Don't ever believe a word of it.

I wouldn't worry about it.
I wouldn't worry about it. That was obviously written back in the LA riot days. Racial tensions were running a fever back then, so I'd have to excuse anyone for anything they may have said. Better to write something tacitly racist and express your free opinion, than to yank a truck driver out of his cab and crack his skull open with a brick. If you're still not satisfied, ask Rodney King what he would say about it.
Things are only impossible until they are not.

Pink eyes.
Maybe the government will come up with some eye color quotas, blue eyes could be a minority???
Ron Paul on rockwell.
This is a very good article by Ron Paul on lewrockwell.

Ron Paul is does not believe in collectivism
http://www.lewrockwell.co...
But you have to admit
that he's speaking of people in terms of collective groups in this article, as in "blacks." But he is speaking in terms of percentages of blacks instead of making blanket statements about blacks in general. I think that's key, and why it's not truly collectivist.
I was wondering when you would show up, user

Paul is not white!
It is impossible for Paul to be a racist, first because he is not "white", instead he is very, very very light brown with a redish tone.
LOL Yeah, those damned
LOL Yeah, those damned "Tans", they are SO rascist!
I had friend when I was young who was albino, so he had more reason to claim to be "white" --- but his skin was even more pink than everyone else's (as were his eyes). At least he'll never have to worry about his hair turning gray!
Dr. Paul is speaking of people in terms of groups
here, which is something he has said he doesn't like to do. But he's not doing it in a racist way. I think he's lightend up a bit since then and wouldn't speak like this today.
the Chairman of the Austin
the Chairman of the Austin Chapter of the NAACP said Ron Paul is not a racist.
I think when you have the NAACP on your side, you're probably able to withstand any attacks/claims of racism.
How can Dr. Paul be
a racist? He is the only one who wants to treat every person with the same respect. Dr. Paul does not believe in groups because that divides people. There is racism in this country and in every country. If we followed the Constitution as it was written we wouldn't have this discussion. Unfortunately, the founding fathers didn't practice what they preached. That is why it is so important that we help make Dr. King's dream come true. Judging people by their skin or culture holds us ALL down. I have seen riots in other countries where the people were white so it's not a color thing it is a blatant corrupt government thing. Just my 2 cents. Peace
Very good post.
I am now more educated, and I like it.
All I can add is:
Nelson Linder, Director Austin, TX NAACP says Ron Paul IS NOT racist:
youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/wa...
the real question is...
...how did the situation get that way? What is responsible for the abominable status quo, racially, in America?
Personally it's not something I think about often, because the answers are the same as for anything else: individual freedom and individual responsibility. But, if that excerpt is going to be put on the table for consideration, I'd insist that people be honest and admit that there's a lot of truth to it, and then ask *WHY* that's the case. The offense being ginned up is rooted in the notion that to *describe* the status quo is more offensive than to *cause* the status quo -- that the reporter of a crime is more offensive than the criminal.
These ideas are not terribly complicated, but they are not often spelled out for the average leftie -- at least, not in a way that they are understood.

Once again this is the fault of Michael Nystrom. His failure to monitor this web site or allow flagging is abominable.
This has been vetted over and over. The author is simply a trouble maker and a troll.
Look at the headline - its designed to stir up trouble.

Please, keep the ad hominem arguments in other threads. Ignore people like Mayberry. I'm looking for views and advice here, and it's a tad disappointing to see flaming going on in a legit discussion.
Please use the search function of this site.
before posting,old,irrelevant subjects.
It is a tad bit disappointing to see someone with so little history be lazy and not do some research on the subject before posting irresponsible crap like this.
This subject has been covered many, many times here, and a simple search would have showed you that. It would have also provided lots of subject matter to learn from as well.
I have dealt with Mayberry for 30+ weeks, you have only dealt with him for a few minutes. Who are you (with 45 minutes on this site) to tell me who to ignore?
For having such a short history here, you are not off to a good start.

Political Correctness
is a diversion from real discussion.
It exists to divert attention from issues at hand, into an emotional territory.
The typical argument method for countering is to give a cursory response which belittles the position of the opponent, and then put him back on his heels with an attack on the lack of validity of the positions of his candidate.
Always be on the attack in an argument of this nature. Never let the opponent put you on the defensive.
Don't allow them to divert you into emotional territory. They can't stand on the merits of their positions on the issues, so they ALWAYS will try to push the buttons for an emotional argument. It's what they do. That is the hallmark of liberals, because they have nothing to stand on, so they MUST divert..
Don't let them do it. Keep their feet to the fire on the issues.
argh this always irritates me
we shouldn't have to make excuses.

Black Leader: Democratic Party Architect of Racism
Monday, February 25, 2008 9:43 AM
By: Ronald Kessler
Frances Rice, chairman of the National Black Republican Association, describes the Democratic Party as the architect of modern day racism.
Rice, a retired Army lieutenant colonel and lawyer, says in an interview it was Republicans who pushed through much of the ground-breaking civil rights legislation in Congress. Now, she says, Republicans stand for empowering blacks to help them out of poverty. In contrast, Rice says, the Democrats push to keep blacks dependent on government handouts and encourage them to see themselves as victims.
“The Democratic Party has built its power base on the backs of poor blacks, and they want to keep blacks poor, angry, and voting for Democrats,” Rice tells Newsmax. “Every election cycle they go into the black community and preach hatred against the Republican Party and get blacks to cast a protest vote against Republicans.”
In Rice’s view, “The Democrats fight every effort of Republicans to get blacks out of poverty because they know that once blacks become prosperous, the Democratic Party will lose its power base.”
Rice co-founded the National Black Republican Association in 2005 with the mission of returning African-Americans to their Republican Party roots. Because co-founder Andre Cadogan knew Newsmax CEO and Editor in Chief Chris Ruddy, the first meeting of the organization took place at Newsmax offices in West Palm Beach, Fla. The organization has grown from five members to over a thousand members. It publishes a quarterly glossy magazine — The Black Republican — and has a Web site: www.nbra.info.
Rice says the Democrats oppose giving blacks the opportunity to become wealthy through Social Security personal accounts and oppose efforts to reform Social Security, even though blacks on average lose $10,000 in the current system because blacks on average have a five year shorter life expectancy.
Aligning themselves with special interests, Rice says the Democrats are “fighting school-choice opportunity scholarships that are designed to get black children out of failing schools, because the teacher’s unions wants to maintain control over buildings.”
Rice also cites widespread opposition by Democrats to the No Child Left Behind Act, which has lifted reading scores of black children but is reviled by teachers’ unions.
“Our philosophy in the Republican Party is to teach a person how to fish, so he can feed himself for a lifetime, whereas the Democratic Party’s philosophy is give a man a fish, so he can eat for a day,” Rice says.
Rice says most blacks are not aware that from its founding in 1854 as the anti-slavery party, the Republican Party has been at the “forefront of the struggle for civil rights, which is why Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a Republican.”
It was Republicans, she notes, who fought to free blacks from slavery and amended the Constitution to grant blacks freedom, citizenship, and the right to vote. Republicans also pushed through much of the ground-breaking civil rights legislation in Congress from the 1860s through the 1960s, Rice says.
“It was the Democrat public safety commissioner, Eugene ‘Bull’ Connor, in Birmingham who let loose vicious dogs and turned the fire hoses on black civil rights demonstrators,” Rice says.
Democrat Georgia Gov. Lester Maddox “brandished an ax handle to prevent blacks from patronizing his restaurant,” Rice says. “Democrat Alabama Governor George Wallace stood in front of the Alabama school house in 1963 and declared that there would be segregation forever. In 1954, it was Democrat Arkansas Governor Orville Faubus who tried to prevent the desegregation of Little Rock public schools. It was Republican President Dwight Eisenhower who sent the troops into the South to desegregate the schools and who appointed Chief Justice Earl Warren to the U.S. Supreme Court, which resulted in the 1954 Brown versus Board of Education decision.”
In contrast, the Democrats “fought to keep blacks in slavery, started the Ku Klux Klan to terrorize blacks, and fought civil rights legislation,” Rice says.
“The Democratic Party is the architect of modern day racism,” Rice says. “Now they are fanning the flames of racism in order to keep blacks in economic poverty.”
And the Republican Party is
And the Republican Party is the modern-day architect of fascism and terrorism.
Author's points are well-made, of course. Racial divisiveness is the Democratic Party's stock in trade.
