The Constitution Has One Flaw

The way we elect politicians is wrong. We should have Direct Representation instead.

1) Give every citizen one vote.
2) Give politicians power according to the number of people who vote for them.
3) Give people the opportunity to change their representative if he votes wrong.
4) Bribery becomes impossible.

Knock on your neighbors' doors and tell them about DIRECT REPRESENTATION. We have the RIGHT to vote directly or by representative.

Direct Representation is the same as

"Mob Rule", that is to say the majority of the public tells everyone else what the "rule of the day" will be, irrespective of the minorities right to direct representation. The constitution, at least, gives (or is suppose to give) EVERYONE an equal starting point that cannot (or should not) be changed by "Mob Rule".

The problem now is not the constitution, it is the LACK of its use!!!

Direct Representation

allows for the creation of different majorities for different bills. Our present electoral system causes the factionalism you're referring to.

The people are a lot more libertarian than you think. It's the politicians that advocate taking away rights.

Actually the Constitution

in its currently-existing state, has many flaws.
Primarily centered on all the Constitutional amendments after the 13th, and there may even be some discussion by some on Amendments 11-13 too..
As a whole, we've done pretty poorly with Amendments, so I think it's best that we leave that be, except maybe to start repealing Amendments 14 and later.

As for Direct Representation, it is a dead issue.
And well it should be.

Dead issue?

Because you say so?

Not dead,

because you say so?

You are the ONLY person on the board here who even remotely thinks this is a good idea.
In case you didn't notice between your multiple spamming posts on this topic, the people here are trying to PRESERVE THE CONSTITUTION, not undermine it.
Okay, you have your opinions and you presented it here numerous times over several weeks of trying.
If it was going to fly, you'd know it already.

democracies can't work,

democracies can't work, because as soon as the people realize they can vote themselves more rights, money etc. everything goes haywire. whos rights? how much money. true we have major spending issues right now, but it would be crazy, everyone grabbing for themselves. and that's just what is coming with obama. he's going to give everyone what they want, keeping them all happy, and destroying what is left of this country.

Obama

is a creation of the elites. Direct Representation would result in more colorful candidates like Paul, Kucinich and Buchanan.

If you'll take the time

to read the ideals of Marxist communism, you'll find that you and he are in full agreement on this Direct Representation ideal. As already stated here, you want Democracy to rule our country, and Democracy is a Socialist/Communist ideal. Woodrow Wilson was the first President to begin calling the USA a Great Democracy. He was also the President that brought about our Central Bank, another Socialist/Communist ideal, graduated income tax, yet another Socialist/Communist ideal.

The Soviet Union

was not a democracy.

The closest we come to a democracy can be found in small New England towns and Switzerland.

First off

I never in any way suggested that Russia was a Democracy, I clearly stated that MARXIST communism was Democratic. And second, Lenin's idea of communism WAS democratic. He never achieved such, but it was a part of his written ideals. Stalin changed russia to the communist dictatorship.

All of the large countries that have turned communist have followed the Marxist doctrine of achieving communism through violent revolution, whereby the opposition is eliminated by death. This thereby leaves a majority that is either willing, or complacent by reason of fear. This is the method Mao and Stalin both used to acheive communism. Mao killed an estimated 55-70 million, virtually all the opposition, leaving only the proponents to communism. The goal of Marxism is to produce a society where all are equal and Free, and higher levels of production reign to provide plentifully for eveyone. But it has been shown many times over that Communism requires force, the ELIMINATION of Freedom, and results in reduced production over time. It does appear that it DOES result in equality for all though, as everyone seems to end up equally enslaved and improverished.

Give me a quote from Lenin

where he advocates democracy or direct representation.

Communism is about proletarian revolution. Democracy means one person, one vote.

The people are a lot more libertarian than you think. It's the politicians that advocate taking away rights.

Yes, you are correct.

Communism is about proletarian revolution, often called a Dictatorship of the Proletarian, which is the Majority in any industrialized Country. It is a dictatorship of the Majority over the rights of the minority, and Communism makes no secret of this view. Democracy IS what happens when the majority take away the rights of the minority.

Lenin was in favor of this Democracy, or the Dictatorship of the Majority. I'm not going to spend time looking up any of his quotes, I've studied eonough about him to know. Anyone whom has not, should.

Here is one of but MANY writings by Lenin,
http://www.marxists.org/a...

Lenin was clearly a man in favor of Democracy, but he was strongly opposed to the type of Democracy found currently in the USA, that is to say a Democracy of the Bourgeois.

Boy, we get all kinds here.

Boy, we get all kinds here.

Democracy is garbage. It's okay on a state level, but on a federal level we need representative government, and rule of Law.

why does no one understand rights?...

The most fundamental right is self-ownership and then extending from that the right to property and voluntary association. These rights are self-evident and common sense. All civil liberties rest solely upon the right to self-ownership and property ownership. As such, you absolutely do not have the right to vote directly for a representative because that would imply the existence of a coercive force to enact the decrees of the majority.

The majority does not have the right to initiate coercion against the minority simple because they are greater in number. Under no circumstances is a violation of property, voluntarism, or people morally or economically justifiable. All forms of government are a violation of human rights (if nothing else they always need taxes through theft).

I don't think any kind of government is wise, but at least a Republic is preferable to a direct democracy.

Your last paragraph

contradicted your first two.

What makes you think the elites will protect our rights better than the majority?

Why our Founders did NOT want this:

It's called the "Tyranny of the Majority" and it was a fear expressed variously by Plato , Aristotle , Madison , Tocqueville , and John Stuart Mill. Check out at:

Democracy is the sleaziest,

Democracy is the sleaziest, most slippery slope to Despotism.

We have all heard that before.

But it's not true. The elite don't know what's best for the people.

Representation

I think that the big reason that America has devolved into an empire is because the republic has been hijacked by the richest most evil criminals on the planet.

I think that the number one reason that these super rich criminals have been able to get away with so much is because they have been able to purchase all of the mass media and thus control the minds of the masses.

In the past, you would need to be rich in order to afford to purchase mass media power such as a newspaper or a T.V. or radio station.

Fortunately for us all of this is coming to an end.

The elite knows that its days are numbered because of the internet. Anyone can put up a website that anyone in the world can visit. New generations are abandoning traditional media, and pretty soon the transition will be complete.

Ron Paul is already the president of the internet, and once the old media is completely shed, then a man like Ron Paul will be voted president of America.

I just hope that America will continue to exist long enough for that to occur.

I like your thinking

We can only hope that this is the light at the end of the tunnel.
