Bigger than CFL?? Freeople.com Launches!!

Every Ron Paul supporter knows there is nothing "bigger" than Ron Paul's own CFL organization, but the new Freeople site contains features that Ron Paul supporters have been yearning for since the campaign began last year.

The promotional email explains it best:

-----------------------------------------------

I am pleased to announce the official launch of Freeople (http://www.freeople.com). Freeople is a toolset for change. We are dedicated to empowering freedom-minded candidates, supporters and groups around the country. Our key features include:

  • FREE meetup-like groups (public and private)
  • FREE calendaring and event management
  • EASY-to-use fund raising for any group activity
  • FREE Google Maps connecting members, candidates, groups and events
  • LOWEST fees of any online political community for fund raising
  • MORE money to candidates and supporters by grouping transactions
  • RATE the candidates in true free-market fashion
  • EARN member points and be recognized as a top contributor

Join the site today by clicking "Register" on the home page. If you are a candidate running for office or know of one who should be featured on Freeople, let us know and we can help!

We look forward to your feedback and ways we can continue to improve the site.

Sincerely,
Ron Shimshock
Freeople.com

-----------------------------------------------

The site is run by Ron Shimshock, who ran the Ron Paul letter writing campaign and the CNN/YouTube Debate Ad Competition. You can donate to multiple candidates in ONE transaction (less money to the credit card companies!!). As a member you get your own blog. You can start your own group (like meetup). etc..

Also note that any candidate can sign up and run their own blog / profile on the site and collect donations directly through the site. That means that Obama and/or McCain are free to join... the catch is that there is a rating system for candidates. Gee, I wonder what rating they would get?

Check it out and register today!

I guess I should take your

I guess I should take your feeling that the site is "a little too slick" as a compliment. :)

The reason for the 'slickness' is marketing. I've done strategic marketing work for Fortune 500 companies and I think I have a fair sense of what appeals to a larger audience. To make freedom-minded efforts really successful in the long run, it needs to resonate with a much broader base, and migrate from minority to the majority.

All of us should be striving to help the average American realize what is necessary for true freedom. Wouldn't you agree?

To LibBerte's point below, the "model leaves a lot of room for us to shape what this will become." That's exactly my thought. Really Freeople is ultimately what you make of it. If you want to start a group, raise funds for your own causes, get like-minded people together, post local events, then go for it ... there are no boundaries on what is possible.

i would be very careful

i would be very careful about this site (and these types of things).

its all a little too slick.

do you really think the CIA aren't trying to hijack this freedom ship and try and turn it back round (slowly so no-one notices)?

and what ron paul lover would claim to be bigger than his own campaign?

I've been there for a couple

I've been there for a couple weeks now and there's no sign of subterfuge. Compartmentalization of the group features serves as a filter of sorts. It's much more civil than DP is now. You don't see the in fighting of any group because there is no reason to join one you don't belong in nor would membership last if you were disturbing the peace. DP is totally unfiltered which gives the psy-ops the ability to hide in the open and be outspoken and simultaneously troll a number of subjects.

On Freeople if you support Barr you can create a Barr group and all Barr supporters could go there and discuss Barr all they want to without disturbing those not in their group.

I'm A Pretty Suspicious Guy...

... ... and I believe the CIA has their dirty fingers in lots more than meets the eye, but if Ron ( site owner) is a spook, he could have played the spy better. I've communicated with him on a number of occasions, for what it's worth, I don't get that impression at all.

He strikes me as a sober liberty advocate and solid businessman. He is not as strident as most, but I think that will serve us well with him facilitating outreach. His efforts lend credibility to our expansion.

I think his model leaves a lot of room for us to shape what this will become. That's all we should ask.

Be skepticle... but carry on.

Additionally, the guy

was the 3,579th member.
He's been around for 40 weeks on here.

The

The McCain banners on the site are almost too much for me to stomach.

"It is the responsibility of the patriot to protect his country from its government."

— Thomas Paine

...and it costs his campaign

...and it costs his campaign money. But that's nothing. I get emails from McCain, Mr and Mrs Obama, and Al Gore so if you wanna talk about stomach wrenching dirty and icky feelings you're second best as long as I'm around.... :/

I think all organizations of

I think all organizations of awakened people are fantastic! But bigger than cfl? I dunno. CFL will not even launch until 9/2--so that initial premise is a bit premature.

Any idea what features the

Any idea what features the CFL site will offer? It would greatly enhance the movement if it offers social networking capabilities. Freeople offers that right now. IMO these features are so under utilized.

Trust me, I'm a Ron Paul supporter, not a Bob Barr supporter-BUT

I will speak until I'm blue in the face that I am first and foremost a Ron Paul supporter. He is what got me so excited about all of this political activity.

So with that said- I HOWEVER realize that while Bob Barr has in the past done things I disagree with- HE IS SAYING THE RIGHT THINGS NOW. I think we've GOT to cut some people slack if we ever wish for them to 'come to our side.'

I mean- 'IF' we won't accept that a person can become 'awaken'- why are any of us involved in this fight?

Trust me- I'm not nearly as excited about Bob Barr as I am about Ron Paul- HOWEVER what he is saying is sooooo much better than the other candidates.

I just encourage others to think twice before pushing Bob Barr aside (which I admit to doing myself for several months.)

I think we have GOT to have some forgiveness, and ALLOW people to become awakened, and to JOIN US.

WE Are Not The Enemy

You are right to have us each keep in mind that THEY push divide and conquer.

The key is to remember we must avoid Civil War.

Let's never undermine the Message.

Overcome 'failure to communicate'.

You are dead on. We all know

You are dead on. We all know Barr is no Ron Paul, but that is not the point. Ron tried to run within the system, just as the LP for years has tried to run outside the system. It seemed that neither way has been successful yet we know (and for those of us involved with this for years) this movement for liberty is alive and always "feel" like its growing (you should have been there to get the sense that "this was going to be the year" when the LP nominated Browne in 96). Yet, with all of that all all the great things we Ron Paul supporters accomplished this past year, here we are with the majority thinking you have a choice between death by poison or death by hanging. The majority still either do not want, fear, or are just plain to ignorant or stupid to know to look for freedom.

This year, the LP tried a different strategy, yes a very controversial one as the post on here show, but it is a strategic move. But I think its time for some straght talk (to steal McSame's line) about this..... The people who are bashing Barr on here are either one of three things...

1) a McSame supporter
or
2) someone who need to prove they are more macho and want to beat their chest while claiming to be for principle, and refusing to THINK about strategy in a severely broken system.
or
3) someone who is as stupid or ignorant as the majority and just doesn't understand strategy and politics.

No, Barr is no Ron Paul, but that is part of the strategy. He is not going to get elected as we all know, so all this CIA conspiracy crap is worse than stupid, its beyond meaningless. He is saying the message of Liberty so all this neo-con talk is irrelevant.

The bottom line is its going to take a lot to win back liberty, and who knows... maybe it will take a lot more uglier moves like this to make it happen. Did I want RP to win YES!!!! But he didn't and now its time to continue this is many many many other ways.

Too much Bob the butcher of

Too much Bob the butcher of Constitution Barr for me.

A Free Market...

... among those of us who promote liberty will put this in balance. It's in development...it will evolve...wait...let me try it this way:

In the beginning, there was light.... and he saw that it was good....

Basically, what has been created for us always leaves us with the personal responsibility for what we do with it.

Thanks,

good luck. Peace

This Is A Good Thing

I was aware of this during the development stage. The guy behind this is a solid pro liberty guy who can get things done.

I will be checking out the site, and urge others to do this as well. This is the NXTFAZE.

Thanks I'll check it out

Thanks I'll check it out

Thank you for posting,

Options our a good thing.

What you believe to be true, is true to you... "until you change your mind"

I am networking with a group there called R3PUBLICANS and am very impressed with the features and flexibility.
