Bush protesters discuss $80K government settlement
This couple were wrongly arrested for wearing anti-Bush T-shirts back in July 04, then sued the government and settled for $80K. Good for 'em.

The ACLU Caved
I am no fan of the ACLU. They talk a good game, but more often than not, they come down on the wrong side.
On this one, they blew it. They caved.
Why should the taxpayers foot the bill for getting these two to drop the suit? They should be suing the culprits - those who ordered them arrested, and perhaps the arresting officers - not the united States of America. Heck, I even wrote to the ACLU about it at the time.
