now we have Barr people here on this post pretending to be Baldwin people...rich, very rich....always felt, then later stated that it was all a big plot to divert us from Ron Paul... that certain NON-Ron Paul people signed up here a looonnnggg time ago to pretend to be supporters, so their supposed (length of) service to the Revolution would be believable....

I wouldn't vote for Dennis Kucinich because he's a socialist, and if Naomi Wolf ran for office, I wouldn't vote for her for the same reason.

Kevin, Barr is not the enemy. I know you won't vote for him, but it is possible to support someone you don't vote for. Barr and Baldwin are on our side, and we should support them both, while you vote for one.

have said it a million times... Why would you vote for Barr? He VOTED FOR THE PATRIOT ACT. Now before you go spouting... well it was unintentional, that IS NO EXCUSE. Intentional or not the damage is done. If he was guilty of not reading it, he is lacking in his constitutional duties to the citizens of this country. If he read it and voted for it, well he's a traitor to this country and it's people. He was traitorous because he voted yes. The jig is up. It's too late for the "Im'a Constitutionalist" speech, dont ya think? And NOOOOO it's not possible for me to support someone I wouldn't vote for. If I wouldn't vote for Barr why would I support him?

Allow me to interject: Bob Barr is a very well-read, intelligent man. There is no way in the world he voted for the Patriot Act without reading it and without knowing exactly what it stood for.
For that matter, all he had to do was listen to Dr. Paul. Dr. Paul was sounding off on the Patriot Act back in Fall 2001, like Paul Revere.

I liked Chuck Baldwin until I read that he supports cutting off all trade to China. That would destroy our economy and China's economy considering 70% of everything we own is "made in China." But I could deal with that. Then I read an article he wrote that was totally homophobic which is a deal breaker for me. So I had to choose between a homophobe or an ex-neo con and I've chosen the ex-neo con.

seems that some in the Freedom Movement would rather
Major on the Minors - when it comes to the Issues.
Rather than notice that no other candidate stands with Ron Paul on
the major issues - because CB is a Christian Pastor - the minor
family issues get brought up - But, this is only because CB identifies
himself with Jesus Christ - and those specific people don't like that.

I'm not a homosexual. But I have a family member who is and friends who are.
I don't understand the argument when people say "do whatever you want in your own bedroom but don't push it on me!" Do a lot of homosexuals try to get heterosexuals to have same sex relationships? I've certainly never heard a single case.

I will give you a couple of cases
First off, I have friends who are too, and relatives who are homosexual too. I am a Christian and believe it is a sin, but I also believe that Christians are NOT to judge unbelievers. What they want to do among themselves is fine with me, but when they push themselves and their lifestyle on me, or mine, I do get a bit upset. A man who was my son's boss where he worked tried to push himself on my son. A female relative tried pushing herself on another of my relatives. And while my 7 year old was having xrays by a homosexual, he tried to get my son alone in the darkroom with him. There, now you have it, 3 cases. And we basically live a sheltered life, homeschooled, etc. I don't speak out about homosexuals in the schools, mostly because it is public school, and it doesn't concern me as I homeschool.

I like Baldwin, I just wish he would make an effort to be seen in the media....because it hasn't happened, and I hope that changes. He won't convert anyone being a recluse seen only by those in our movement.

I think Chuck Baldwin
is the candidate running who is best in agreement with me on the issues that concern me the most. I don't agree with everything he's about, but he's close enough he will most likely have my vote in November.

Agreed, to a certain extent
I like Baldwin, though I really wish he would leave God out of his political speeches. Ron Paul was great that way; he didn't constantly refer to God, which comforted those of us who have watched politicians use the Almighty as a crutch for weak-minded philosophies and empty promises of brighter horizons and days of glory and all that crap.
While I don't think Baldwin fits into that category, and that he would keep his religion out of government policy, I get a little worried when someone who has an unassailable and impressive theologic and religious background, and no need to discuss anything other than the mountain-heap of problems we face as a society regardless of religion, decides still to inject God into political speeches.
That's just my personal opinion, though. I think bringing up God in the political arena inherently cheapens the concept of Him/Her/It, sort of like football players praying and hoping that God gives a rat's ass about who wins that particular game that night. Of course, one could argue the stakes are higher when it comes to our nation's future, but that is where my concept of God differs, and that's a whole other thread :)

I believe this is the most eloquent statement about religion and politics I have ever read. This to me speaks volumes about the issue. It is authentic and is not the normal religious pandering that we see in politics. It is Ron Paul through and through.
After discovering Ron Paul last year, the first thing I did after hearing him speak, was to search the internet to see if he believed in the right to life. This statement was what sealed the deal. What an amazing man!

It is with hesitation that I post these comments since there is so much Godlessness in America today and especially by some of the libertine followers of Paul. America's problems are moral and will not be solved by getting the "right person" into positions of authority. America has been kicking God out of the public square for decades. The neo-cons are simply a reflection of our non-religious and non-family culture. Remove the Christian God and you get the obvious results, evolution, chance, meaninglessness, etc. Anyone that sends their children to be dis-educated by the state should be identified as the problem. Culture is Religion externalized.

What exactly do you think your Crusades example proves? Have you ever actually read anything on the Crusades, or are you doing exactly what you condemn Dr. Paul's opponents for doing, namely drawing sweeping conclusions about issues they know nothing about?
The Crusades were such a minor event in the history of Christianity's relationship with Islam that as recently as the 18th century if you had asked a Muslim about the Crusades he would have had absolutely no idea what on God's green earth you were talking about.
And in the 20th century, God wasn't the "center of the universe," as you put it. So did we get peace and love? No, we got Stalin, who presided over an officially atheistic regime. We got the race-worship of Hitler. We got Mao.
In the 18th century, in the 18 months of the Reign of Terror, atheists and deists killed more Catholics than the whole centuries-long history of the Inquisition put together.

The Barr folks are frustrated by their inability to make inroads here. It shows in their recent posts...it certainly shows in today's posts.
Take the initiative. Start promoting Chuck. The election is only a few months away.

"Troll" applies to poster BillyDee/JustCantGetEnough, who lived up to the name x 10, and got a lot of people on this Forum stirred up with his relentless, thoughtless and clueless shilling for Barr. If not for that sort of approach, the word "troll" would probably not have been used very often.
