Baldwin Supporters = The Lunatic Fringe

I guess somebody had to finally say it. I spent the morning at the Revolution March with what I thought would be mostly intelligent informed people, only to be surprised to find hordes of 9/11 truthers. In the spirit of goodwill, I approached the baldwin supporters to learn what they were all about. I know Baldwin is anti-gay and anti-gambling, but I'm always willing to give the benefit of the doubt. Boy was I dissappointed to find out that the throngs of Baldwin supporters were jesus juice drinkers, conspiracy theorists, and colloidal silver fanatics.
I was VERY surprised when doing interviews that the people who were Libertarians and were supporting Barr, did so after rationally using logic and coming to the conclusion to do so based on facts and practicality.
The Baldwin supporters main arguments against Barr were that he worked at the CIA, and that he USED to be a neocon. The CIA argument is moot, because you just know that the people that don't like him for that, think he is some sort of plant to throw off the liberty movement. Use your heads guys, this is not logical. If you are voting Baldwin because you think George Bush brought down the Twin Towers.... there's probably nothing I can say that would appeal to your sense of reason. However, if you are voting Baldwin because you think Barr is some sort of a plant, or whatever, why don't you give me a call at my office, and I can fill you in on the truth behind the candidacy.
I even used to be a neocon. I voted Bush the first time, and supported the Iraq war, and now I look back and realize how wrong I was. Now I am working to correct the wrongs of my past. No one turned me away from the Liberty movement just because of my ill doings and opinions in the past. Why would they do it for Barr then? I learned the answer Saturday morning. They're absolute lunatics.
Don't drink the kool aid guys, and don't write in Ron Paul, because I know you've bought into the whole cult of personality thing so at least go all out and DO WHAT HE SAYS! "I don't believe that writing my name in would be very productive" -Ron Paul
Make rational decisions guys. Don't hate Barr because he used to be CIA. Don't hate Barr because he used to be a neocon, there's lots more like him that have been changed due to Ron Paul.
If you believe in freedom. If you want to convert more Americans to our message by having a voice in the debates. If you are a rational and forward looking activist. Do the right thing, and take a critical even handed look at Barr's message.
Whatever you do... don't be the person that spoils it for the rest of us. Don't be crazy.

Now... I tend to agree with others that this isn't the place (unfortunately) for this debate, no matter which side you fall on. I couldn't agree more about the 9/11 Truthers, but I don't think they're exclusive to Baldwin, as I've found some among Barr supporters and others as well. Honestly, everyone but McCain probably has some of those retards in their camp.
As I've stated elsewhere, such fanaticism is exactly why people are discrediting the liberty movement at large, and it's a shame, really. People automatically assume that since I support Ron Paul that I'm a 'true believer,' which is non-sense. The conspiracy theorists, racists, zionists, and truthers that advance their ideologies in sync with Ron Paul's movement, however, have unfortunately made this association stick with the general public.

In my home we have an LPN, RN and a AAS Med Asst - all of us understand colloidal silver and use it exclusively, on the RARE occasion we feel the need to fight a pathogen. Your slur against those who use this substance indicates you are either uneducated on the topic or a troll.
Additionally, I DO NOT KNOW what happened on 9-11 because no REAL investigation was done. I DEMAND the TRUTH. If you are content with the official lies, you are either gullible, not very curious, or a troll.
You toss in a few gay and religious remarks, just in case you have not offended everyone who reads it yet. I am heterosexual and non-Christian, but not interested in "wedding out" supporters for non-political reasons. That seems like something a troll might do.
You close with a pitch for Bob Barr on a dailypaul site. I do not know many of the folks who post here, and maybe you are a really good person, but you seem to walk like, talk like, and attempt to divide like... well, you know.

Bob Barr is an opportunistic politician at best, but he's no Ron Paul and he's no Chuck Baldwin. These men are American patriots and statesmen whose convictions mean more than advancing their own careers.

Bob Barr is---on his best day--a Newt Gingrich-era GOP bureaucrat pretending to be a Libertarian. He flip flops, displays no real interest in seriously curtailing the federal Leviathan, and won't even take a solid stance in the media on the War on Drugs.
If he had no congressional record as a career politician, I'd have zero interest in voting for him. But his negative voting record clinches it for me.

Paul can win his congressional seat...
... but he can't win the presidential election because he won't be on the ballot. He ran as a Republican and failed (by a large margin) to get enough votes to be considered for the nomination. That sucks, but that's the reality. And no, a few thousand die hards writing in his name won't do a thing.
So I'll go with Chuck Baldwin, who's been a staunch backer of Paul from the beginning, despite some reservations about the Constitution Party platform. At least Baldwin will be on the ballot. I'm a realist -- I know that third party candidates never win. But at least when there's a candidate on the ballot there's a chance that he'll get enough votes to let the media know that no, plenty of us are not happy with the Demoplicans and Republicrats.

I'm not a "911 truther", but I do think there are enough peculiarities about that event that I don't think someone is crazy for not believing that we've been given the whole story. I own some silver as a hedge against inflation, not as a comestible. I'm an agnostic and do have some differences with Chuck Baldwin (as I do with any candidate) but he is clearly a staunch supporter of the Constitution, and looks better to me than Barr.
When pastors were given instructions by FEMA on ensuring that their flock would acquiesce to martial law, Chuck Baldwin told his church members to be sure they owned a gun. Good for him.
By the way, "lunatic fringe" is exactly what the lamestream media and the George Bush Republicans have been calling us Paul supporters from day one. Thanks for joining their ranks.

Both Baldwin and Barr are steps in the right direction. They may not be perfect, but they are good men to have on our side...I hope they both get a lot of media attention. They both deserve our support.

I will not vote for Baldwin because the Constitution Party platform reads like a theocrat's dream. And I don't want to live in a theocracy. On top of that, he thinks McLamb is great and I, having heard McLamb's speech at the march, think he is a certifiable paranoid. Stickers on mailboxes? Puhleeeze.
On the other hand, I will not vote for Barr because he is former CIA, because he used to be a total drug war fanatic, because he voted for the invasion of Iraq and because he voted for the Patriot Act. He also has a despicable VP running mate who has trashed Ron Paul. I believe in giving a guy a chance to correct a mistake or two, but Barr has a whole history of worshiping totalitarian government and I am not going to forgive that after just a couple years of him making nice noises. People's lives were ruined because of his past mistakes. He has more work to do to convince me.
Obviously I will not vote for Obama or McCain. Or Nader.
And in Arizona, a write-in for Ron Paul will not be counted.
So, what will I do?
I will vote for any and all solid candidates for lower office and deliberately NOT vote for President. That is as close as we can get to None of the Above.

Any rational person who can dedicate more than a half hour of time will generate a long list of questions unanswered about 9-11. If your too lazy to find take on that effort... don't try and vilify others who have the energy and are concerned about it.

Just because there are unanswered questions about 911 does not mean it was an inside job. There are unanswered questions about every important event in history.
Those who go around carrying signs saying that "911 was an inside job," chanting "911 was an inside job", using hidden cameras to film peoples reactions to their stupid questions, claiming that a plane never hit the pentagon, or crashed in shanksville, or trying to catch some famous person in a confrontation, are lunatics.
