Monday, July 14, 2008

Thousands of people marched peacefully in Washington D.C. on Saturday, to honor Texas Congressman Ron Paul's campaign for liberty, yet the mainstream media uniformly failed to issue a single written report on the event in its aftermath.

The media takes orders from the powers that be

You can bet your bottom dollar the powers that be are very aware of this march. I am sure they are not ignoring it in the least. This has to have them running for the play book on how to control the American people.

Let's Take Advantage of It!

The way I look at it, let's take advantage of it as a way to prove that the mainstream media cannot be trusted.

We can send out the video ourselves and it might even be more effective.

Congressman Ron Paul - Freedom Revolution March in Washington D.C. at The United States Capitol, July 12, 2008.

Thousands upon thousands of Americans, march forward from the horizon, as far as the eyes can see, towards the nation's Capitol, supporting principles seemingly long forgotten in America; the values of the Founding Fathers and the United States Constitution, values the Honorable Congressman Ron Paul always defends, Freedom and Liberty.

You will NOT see this on ABC, CBS, MSNBC, FOX or CNN.

Don't worry, plenty of

Don't worry, plenty of people noticed. It was VERY successful.

We will really blow them away and get our media attention in sept!

We will be the September surprise

Convention

I sure hope the Paul meeting at the same time does not detract from the GOP convention too much. The TV time is important so I hope things go smoothly for all sides.

If I want to attend a Paul rally/event during the convention where can I get a ticket?

Minnesota

What you need to do is make sure Dr. Paul and his supporters get a cordial reception in Minneapolis instead of the cold treatment we've been getting at the various state conventions. This whole thing would not have been such a big deal if Dr. Paul had been invited to give a prime time speech during the RNC. Instead there are going to be 15,000 (myself included) dedicated Republican Libertarians in Minneapolis talking to the national media and complaining the Republican party has lost its way. For us this needed to happen, for a RINO like McCain this is going to be very bad.

Liberty Freedom Peace

Well...

we hope it will detract big time from the GOP!
Get a ticket and join the fun and hear the truth ... it will set you free!

We are taking over Minneapolis - so if you are not pro Ron Paul
or going to attend our convention .... you may as well stay home.

Actually all McCan't supporters should come to our convention -
they will finally hear where the direction of the Republican party is
going to go and what it is going to become - might as well happen now!
The sooner the better!

Climb aboard the Peace Train!

Ooo.. Good.

Resonse. Yeah I'll not be attending the GOP convention becuase they stone walled all Ron Paul supporters as well as McCain supporters who tried to speak address the chair at our State convention.. Not to metion the other things like not letting us put up Ron Paul signs because he was still in the race at that point as well as having as a GOP Resolution to back Israel militarily and as a soverign nation. Since when did Israel become part of the US? And When pray tell did the KY GOP decide this was needed?

tickets for the Paul rally

tickets for the Paul rally will be going on sale sometime this week.

Not a surprise

Anyone who's been paying any attention in the last year should not be surprised by the lack of MSM coverage, in fact it should be expected. The thing to keep in mind here is that so many people showed up for a candidate who has suspended his campaign for president. When was the last time that happened? Lets see...hmmm...it was back in...no..uhmm...NEVER! Could Romney, Huckster, Hitlery, Edwards do this? Don't think so. How about McCain, "The Presumptive"? Now I'm laughing too hard to type. This speaks volumes about the movement and the future of the Campaign For Liberty. Keep the faith and grow the numbers, they will ignore us at their own peril. A big showing at the rally in Minn. can not be ignored. See you there!

Don't say they have BIG Marches all the time!

I was there and talked to several Police Officers there....
One in particular has been there for 14 years and worked almost every weekend and when i asked him "When is the last time you saw a March here this big?"....

His answer was "Its been a long time".

I think that the lack of coverage just makes us more angry and determined in our quest. But it shouldn't shock anyone.

I came from Southern California and had the time of my life!

Funny thing happened though... about half way through the March, some guy haded me a RP sticker and I told him "No thanks... Michael Nystrom actually sent me a bunch last week for donating to the DP"...
His reply was..... "That's me!!!"
We marched together and talked for a while... what a great guy.
KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK MICHAEL!!!

"Whether you think you can or think you cannot, you're absolutely right!"

Ooo. Ooo.. I met Mike too!!!

I saw a kid walking around with the RP represents me sticker and I asked him where he got it and he pointed Nystrom out to me. I gave the stickers he gave me to others.. All I got was smiles.. which is all I was looking for.. =]

Michael was so cool... not even a little cocky... just proud!

"Whether you think you can or think you cannot, you're absolutely right!"

not too too big

million man march was 40 times larger...hmmmmm

don't get too big for your britches

Thank You!

McCain needed at least one supporter other than the MSM. Thank you for making him not feel like he has nobody. Perhaps his wife AND YOU will vote for him. Everybody needs a little support.

Your one man army of you (and the Diebold) should make him electable. Congrats!

You're absolutely right.

We really should humble ourselves, here. Especially in light of the gigantic voluntary grassroots march put on by all those McCain supporters.

How many were in that McCain march, again? Can you remind us, when did it take place? I can't seem to recall...

What are you doing here?

Whay are you wasting your time here?
OOOHHHHH.... I know..... its because McCan't doesn't USE the internet... but he is "aware" of it!!

Go away loser

"Whether you think you can or think you cannot, you're absolutely right!"

Dont worry ...we will!

We are definitely already too big for yours though ...because this revolution actually has some cojones!

If you are so worried about losing your government benefits and money for your meds then I think the Obama sites might suit you better.

i dont see

people parading around for mcain or his warmonger message, do you?

Now that's

a kool story.

wow

what a great story...divine hand at work!

Vote on CNN ireport

I put it on CNNs ireport site, mabye if it gets enough votes they will look into it:

;)

GEE, no surprise here.

I remember in early 90's when I lived close to DC, and one weekend in the summer there was an Earth Day rally on the White house lawn, I can't remember how many people, but it was a few thousand I think, and the media was all over it, one even did a 30 minute segment on it. When it was over, there was wall to wall trash everywhere. Then, the next weekend, or the following, there was a Right To Life Rally and there were so many people, they stretched wall to wall from the White house to the Washington Monument. There have never been so many people at the White House for a rally before or since. And most of the media didn't mention it, but a couple barely mentioned it, no pictures. Oh, and there was no trash.

That's the primary reason I

That's the primary reason I did not make an effort to go. I figured it would be a waste of time and money versus return. I felt the effort would have been better spend trying to turn Delegates or Precinct Executive Committee members, or growing our numbers. Well, it gave people a chance to vent and it's over so lets get down to business and get some serious shit done!

Of course the media ignored

Of course the media ignored it. The media judges the importance of events based on agenda.

If it had been a 15,000 strong "Million Mom March" campaign against gun rights with Rosie O'Donnell, it would have been frontpage news on every outlet.

look at this photo

http://www.flickr.com/pho...

now notice in lower left corner a woman dressed in white holding a small Ron Paul sign as if holding a torch.
I am completely sober but I think we are joined by Lady Liberty herself!

If I were Mr. open-shirt,

I'd want a pair of suspenders ;-)

Ha!

You always make me smile..... seriously, it is a great picture. We need some Campaign for Liberty signs, though.

I'm not 100% sure, but I

I'm not 100% sure, but I think it was because Bob Barr told them no too. Yeah that was it. And he was told to do that by the Aliens that circle around your head when you sleep and cause you to dream. Yeah that's it. And the aliens are really only remote control robots that are controlled by a race called the CFR's, the CFR's however have to answer to the Bilderburg race, as they have longer toenails, which in some parts of the universe means your more intelligent. Yeah that's it.

Now of course I could be wrong, and maybe its because a march of 20k people in Washington DC is something that happens like every other week and is is NOT news! You need at least 10 times that much for it to be newsworthy. But believe the first story if you must, I know some people on this site will find that one more believable anyhow.

You know, I never realized

You know, I never realized that Bob Barr had that much clout with the MSM. Perhaps I have been wrong all along about him..... But then there's that little thing about him voting IN FAVOR of THE PATRIOT ACT. Hmm. What to do? What to do?

From what I can gather

he voted for it because it was in some fashion an altered version of the original version which was far worse, that was going to pass anyway. Personally I find that a sorry excuse. If someone is going to invade my home, kill me and my family, then take all of my valuables, I am not going to meet them half way and say "If you don't kill my family and I, I will just give you the suff and forget I ever saw you." I am going to either take the gun from their hand and beat them to death with it, or die trying.

Dude, Wow, that's awesome. How did you know all that.

Count me in too. I'm a believer!

I also read that media coverage would not be great

For the same reason bigmikedude noted below: Marches in Washington are so common, most are not considered newsworthy. If a million people show up, or half that, they would take more notice. As a radio newsman I never worked in Washington, but the logic makes sense in the news media culture I encountered.

But Minneapolis-St Paul is another story. Media will be there in droves because the Republican National Convention is not common; it happens only once every four years. And I'd wager media coverage will improve for the alternative Ron Paul convention there, as long as its biggest event isn't set at the same time as a big GOP event. Timing could be critical.

Two well placed rounds

could have changed the news worthiness of this event. ("NeoLead" as I like the think of It) Read "Unintended Consequentness" by Jon Ross.

I wrote all the major news

I wrote all the major news media, CNN, ABC, CBS, Fox, MSNBC and submitted the story.

I doubt they will do anything, since they have not yet, but there is a chance.

They dont report on alot of

They dont report on alot of stuff...so what?

They skewed the numbers.

That's what. It's called marginilzation. Nothing new for the propaganda machine. Go back to your american idol and ricky lake shows you'll feel better.

Why is Ron Paul's effort so

Why is Ron Paul's effort so special? I have held rallies in my own home town, and was pissed when no one reported on it...but I am sure there are hundreds of marches on DC yearly that receive NO coverage whatsoever.

Step off your pedestal, and look at the situation from a neutral standpoint.

If Mc.Cain had a march this

If Mc.Cain had a march this big, the msm would of covered it the same day.....(Thats why we are pissed )

"Observe the masses, and do the opposite."

Look chump.

CNN went out of their way to skew the numbers. Secondly why are you even here on this site if this doesn't bother you a little??? How about you step out of the conversation if all you are bringing is nothing to the table. I was there many people were there. I don't care if the MSM covered it or not. But when you Skew the numbers then it sorta pisses me off as well as other supporters who have been here the whole time getting marginilized by the propaganda machine relentlessly.

Correct, oruval

Even though the numbers were not likely huge compared to many events in DC, this event was different and absolutely should have been covered. Why? I don't know of any other marches in history that had a congressman and many other high profile names that went oblivious to the msm.

So without question, it was marginalized intentionally. If anyone here was at the straw poll in Florida and some of the others, watched the results of the debate winners, been to state delegate nominations, they certainly know all about how the msm and GOP did everything they could to minimize and lie about the numbers and the overall event.

Yes, there's something going on here....and it stinks to hell.

If the Sisterhood of

If the Sisterhood of Travelling Pants fanclub held a rally in DC, with 20,000 people, and no one reported on it, would you be this upset? No.

From a sociological stand point, it is understandable why you are upset...but the majority of people in America/Earth dont give two shits about this movement...And to expect special attention is a little selfish, isnt it? CNN isnt going to increase its viewership by talking about Ron Paul...why would they go out of their way to do so? It isnt a story, from a financial viewpoint.

Quite incorrect, Cam

Quite the opposite! Every time Ron Paul gets in the media, it gives them a big push. Why do you think people like Glenn Beck wanted him on his show so desperately?

From the standpoint of you not having a clue as to what is really happening in this country, I can see your viewpoint. Perhaps about ten thousand more hours of research and an open mind would help your viewpoint, but I doubt it.
