Observation about the level of enthusiasm surrounding McCain

I don't know about other parts of the country, but here in NC I have yet to see a single John McCain bumper sticker or yard sign. Not a single one. However, there is no shortage of signs, stickers, etc. that display support for Obama. The contrast could not be more glaring. And NC is a state that is historically a "gimmie" for the Republicans in Presidential elections.

What are y'all seeing out there?

North Carolina / VA Beach Sightings

NC has its fair share of Obama bumper stickers, though Ron Paul certainly has him beat...especially in vicinity of Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune. There were plenty of yardsigns too!
I'm now stationed in VA Beach and have to say that I have only seen a few RP stickers and slightly more Obama stickers. There's some misguided servicemember with a "Veterans for McCain" bumper sticker in my parking lot, but that's about it. Just thinking about that one makes me throw up a bit. It's a good thing I have my bumper covered. It's given me lots of opportunities to educate my fellow officers.

McCain is a disaster!

That's why I'm voting for bob barr...to insure this knucklehead's defeat in November and prepare the way for another insurgent campaign in 2012 or vote Libertarian again that November...

Bumper Sticker Report From Seattle

I don't think I have seen a single McCain advertisement anywhere. Believe it or not, it is either Ron Paul or Obama and no one else. For a liberal city, we have a wonderfully rabid and articulate Ron Paul group. I am very proud of that. :)

Proud member of Ron Paul's Revolution

Here in Illinois

There are a handful of lost souls with an Obama sticker.

I remember seeing 1 McCain sticker a couple mos ago. I was actually ripping on the McCain and the government at the time.

McCain has no fervent support whatsoever. I do believe he got in fair and square because most voters have no passion and just go with a mixture of their gut and whatever the MSM offers. Dr. Paul was not offered as a choice. Don't forget Dr. Paul had "no chance of winning" from day one.

Propoganda works and it is real and it is wicked.

Here in East LA County....Big

Fat ZERO support for McCain...zip, nil, nada stickers nor signs.

I see more Obamanation stickas..and I've seen more RP :D

Lack of public support for McCain

The #1 thing I've learned from being involved in the Ron Paul campaign for 17 months is that online support, Youtube videos, sign waves, the number of yard signs and bumper stickers, and online polls have nothing - and I do mean absolutely NOTHING - to do with actual votes.

They help, but...

But, mostly votes depend upon how often a candidate is shown on TV: Own the media and you own a good shot at the presidency.

Just received my free MCCain bumper sticker in the mail with my 20th letter begging for money. Sent them back a RP slim jim and my daughter put a big black x on the sticker and put it on her bulletin board. tee hee.

Postage paid by McCain???

Postage paid by McCain??? Did you make copies of the return envelope? If you had you could have lathered rinsed and repeated.

Poor McCain

I'm sure he's thoroughly confused. He has all the delegates and the nomination, but nobody is really supporting him.

He won't beat Obama, but even if he did, he would probably end up with the lowest approval rating in history.

We should go around and slap

We should go around and slap RP bumper stickers on all McCain and Obama signs we come acorss. lol

We should go around and slap all McCain supporters

I just read the title of your post and started laughing, because I figured the rest of the sentence would end with;

...all McCain supporters out of their slumber.

great idea! as for me and my

great idea!

as for me and my home, we shall worship the LORD

I see some Obama Bumperstickers.

I have yet to see any John McCain ones or signs. I am in Obamaland, Chicago, and the clueless here are drawn to him like moths to a lighbulb.

You're in Obamaland???

I thought I was! Seriously, up here in VT, Obama stickers are everywhere. They are usually next to a Bernie Sanders sticker - the only honest socialist in the Senate (because he says he is one, instead of all the ones that say they are X, Y, or Z, but are actually socialists).

Haven't seen any McCain stickers, maybe a couple of Hillary, but definitely see Ron Paul stickers around.

Well

I've been tracking the elusive McCain sign for over two months here in central California, still no sign of one. I fear they may have suffered the same fate as the dodo bird.

No McInsane support

We had a candidates' picnic a couple weeks ago. All parties invited. Some guy showed up to speak for Obama; not very articulate. The host asked if anyone wanted to speak for McInsane, or if anyone was present from his campaign. There were NO takers!!! We had people running for all kinds of state & county offices. Some of them had to be "good" republicans, but not a one would speak for that loser.

Can we get together on this?

I wish Ron Paul would ask Jesse to be his VP.

It would start a wildfire of attention and media headlines.
I think it would take him to the White House.
It is too late for Jesse to run for the presidency because there is not enough time to get on the ballot in all the states. But Ron Paul is already on the ballots and it would be a home run. Adding Jesse Ventura to the ticket would cause such an uproar and excitement it would do what is needed to get the job done. Can we do this?
Anybody who can contact Ron Paul run it by him...

So, I'm driving down the freeway today...

...and a car in the lane next to me had two bumper stickers.

One said: "Those who do not learn from the lessons of the past are doomed to repeat it."

The other said: "Obama '08"

I nearly drove off the road laughing.

Duuuuuuude

Fan, I'm gonna be laughing all night now. Nothing like being anti-abortion and pro-abortion on the same bumper. Wait..... wait... Maybe they split the cost of the car?

You need to get that same

You need to get that same bumper sticker and slap it up next to your Ron Paul bumper sticker.

Now that is

Too good : )

I Saw One!

In God We Trust!

Here in the sorry state of Massachusetts I saw a McCain sign ( about 18 inches X 24 inches ) about a week ago on a chain link fence just feet off highway #24.
I pulled the car over, got out, and ripped that damned thing down. Any others I see will have the same fate.
It is the only sign of any kind with McCain that I have seen.
Even here, he is loathed.
I am mad as hell and will not tolerate theses communists SOBs telling me how to live my life. Obama, I have only seen one bumper sticker all year. No signs.
My Ron Paul sign is still open for viewing on that same highway.....sure is pretty too!

Hmm

Razorwind Studios is an official endorser of Ron Paul, and we will live free or die! 14th alternate to MN state!
-----------------------------------------------------------

I have seen maybe one McCain sticker around here in the Twin Cities. I have seen plenty of Obama stickers.

I saw one Ron Paul sticker on my way to march in a 4th of July parade. I just happened to be only 2 or 3 groups away from Barb Davis White, and some of her workers had RP shirts on under their BDW shirts.

I live in Arizona

I live in Arizona and I have yet to see a McCain sign or bumper sticker yet I still see Ron Paul signs everywhere. When he came (back) to town for a fund raiser he had to move the location from a stadium to a house because no one would attend. The fact that he got nominated has to be proof the election is rigged!

I also live in Arizona, Glendale to be precise

I think I have seen 2 mcCain Stickers and only a few OBOMBA stickers.

I was side by side, at an exit ramp, with a lady who had a McCain sticker on her SUV.

I made sure I accelerated and got in front of her, hoping my bumper stickers would wake her from her trance.

Goodness

Isn't he a Senator for Arizona? That's pathetic!

Dr. Paul cured my apathy

Yes, he's from Arizona. My uncle lives down there and he says

that people down there wish he would go away!!!!

Plenty of McCain signs/stickers in DC/NoVa

I've seen more than I ever thought I would.
There are lots of McCain signs and stickers around here.
Way more in Va. than in DC, but plenty.
They still don't come close to the volume of Obama stickers and signs.
Not by a long shot.

Central VA

I've never seen a McCain bumper sticker here.

I haven't seen a single

I haven't seen a single bumper sticker in support of McCain here in North Texas (Dallas area). A few hold over Bush stickers but even those are rare.

I've spotted a few Ron Paul stickers lately but if people are going to have stickers at all, they tend to be Obama stickers.

I was surprised to see my first McCain bumper sticker this week

I live in Cincinnati. Very Republican area of Ohio. I have only seen 1 McCain bumper sticker (this week). Obama stuff is much more common.

In my town:

Of about 5000, I had the only signs out for any candidate. Someone stole them two days ago while I was away over night. I liked my RP signs and wish I had a stack of them to keep putting them out there no matter how many got stolen. They have been there for a long time and I planned to keep them there at least until after the RNC. I am angry and considering making one huge one out of a 4X8 sheet of plywood and attaching it to the house just to see who has the nerve to try and take it.
There now, I have vented a little.

I Love my country
I am APPALLED by my government

There is no McCain

There is no McCain enthusiasm, they are just a bunch of Romney, Guilliani,Thompson and Huckabee supporters smashed together with an anti-democrat cape.

Listen to Hannity or Oreilly. Notice how they never talk about Republican platform issues. All they talk about is anti Obama or anti-democrat topics. The Democrats do the same thing

Justcomehome

There are very few political signs at all in our little town. On one of the back streets, there is one house with an Obama sign. About the only time I listen to talk radio anymore during the day is when I'm driving somewhere. Several times I have noticed Rush and Hannity talking about what we need from a conservative point of view....and I find myself thinking "you're talking about Ron Paul" and supporting McCain. The bias is glaring....they're just good ol' party boys. I do agreed that it seems to be an "anti" campaign rather than talking up the good points of the presumptive candidates....because there are so few pro McCain or pro Obama points to be made. The platform? What's that...sorry stick to the mud slinging.

IT'S DOABLE

Funny that you mention the

Funny that you mention the "Platform". I read the Republican National Platform and it reeks of Bush Worship! I've never read anything like it. Absolutely disgusting. It says nothing about traditional Republican principles. All it does is lick Bush's boots and kiss his ass. I dare anyone to read it and find much of anything in it worthwhile.

Things are only impossible until they are not.

Lots of RP signs in the south east

I travel quite a bit and I've seen Ron Paul signs all over the place. When I went to Nashville the grassroots had put up homemade signs everywhere before the primaries. Interstate 40 and 55 also had a whole lot of Ron Paul signs. In Chattanooga a restaurant near the campus of UTC had a big "No Taxes on Tips" Ron Paul sign. In Southaven MS and Memphis Ron Paul was the only Republican I saw signs for except for a few Huckabee ones. I've even seen Ron Paul signs in Heber Springs AR.

I've also seen quite a few Obama signs and stickers but not a single one for McCain. However, I do still see an awful lot of "W" stickers which is kind of scary.

I'm a member

I'm a member of 2 McCain meetup groups so I can see their progress, and the level of activity of the groups is 1/10 of the Ron Paul meetups. There is not alot of enthusiasm at all for him. The members do seem to be extremely ignorant of monetary policy, foreign policy, the causes of oil prices and have a general "kill towelheads" mentality overall with little or no respect for other cultures unless they are aligned 100% with US policy. As others here have said they are a Hannity loving crowd and I'm often sickened by what I read. Several times I have started to write something in response and then held off as I didn't want to give myself away. Many of them are just partisan shills who love the Republican platform no matter how bad it is. Some even think McCain supports traditional Republican values and have no idea about his voting record.

Have a look at this

Someone called Buschb made a nice post about the Ron Paul Freedom March over at www.hannity.com, but within hours one of McCain's ignorant supporters, blinding following Hannity's lead, felt he would need to remove it for no good reason, other than the embarrassment that McCain does not have equal support.

However, thanks to google cache it can still be seen as evidence of not only the deliberate media suppression, but also the shame and jealousy of those that have sold themselves on McCain:

McCain = Bush

That seemed like a popular sign recently.

The Two Party Monopoly & Ignorant Masses Slaving Away

After everything I've read, watched, and researched, and having been one of the following people myself, less than a year ago;

It is clear that McCain is simply begrudgingly supported by the ignorant masses and those already entrenched within the establishment Republican party.

These are typical Americans, just like you and I -- however, they are generally Republicans that listen to Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh telling them they have no other choice but to vote for McCain. These people get the same message from the mainstream media after they come home from a hard days work and turn on the TV to watch the news.

In their eyes, they may not really want to support McCain, but they are convincingly told that there is no other choice. That a vote for anyone else would be a vote for Obama or a wasted vote.

All these misplaced votes for a candidate that nobody is excited about is a symptom of the two party monopoly more than anything else -- if delegates and members don't follow the wishes of party seniority, then they themselves will have no chance of progressing within the party.

This is why we almost always see bitter rivals, like Clinton and Romney line right up to support their former party adversaries shortly after admitting defeat.

You've got to love Ron Paul!

But, even Ron Paul, who doesn't play the game, runs as a Republican because he has no other choice as a result of the party monopoly.

In voting for who they are told to, GOP and DNC members create a snowball of false support, rolling downhill gathering further support often for a candidate that nobody really wants, until it's too big to stop. Those inside the parties are afraid to admit this though, for fear of being outcast for dissenting.

Of course, there are greater evils at work behind the scenes, but most people will never, ever believe the reality until they investigate for themselves.

I don't know if change is possible without a real revolution at this point - it looks like we are headed in that direction, so it may just come about whether people want it or not. Then everyone's eyes will be open and the document that can be used to restore the Republic will naturally be the Constitution.

Will we learn this time, or will the cycle continue again, as it has throughout history...

The only way a government can give something, is to take it away.

NW Oregon

Yeah, I've noticed 2 McCain bumper stickers - no signs. There are still Ron Paul signs, but not many bumper stickers.

Obama clearly has the most of both and I understand Portland is littered with them too.

On the upside: I drove thru Idaho, Montana and Washington. Ron Paul signs gallore and a billboard sign too. Maybe 2 Obama signs, 1 Hillary and 0 McCain.

In Utah

there are no McCain signs or bumper stickers and plenty of Obama and some for RP

In my neighborhood

In my neighborhood there were alot of Romney signs because I think someone was paid to place them, several Ron Paul signs popped up later. Then some of the Ron Paul signs were ripped out and McCain signs popped up so I pulled them out and threw them in my garbage. Fair is fair.

"The wicked flee when no man pursueth, but the righteous are as bold as a lion."

Except for Ron Paul

So far, this election has been like a secret out in the public except for a few days right before the primary. After the primary, it all went away again. My eye is drawn to anything Ron Paul, but I don't think I am missing displays for the other candidates either and there aren't any.
