Nine Republicans Break Party Ranks: Send Impeachment Article to Judiciary for Hearings
In a stunning development which fell with the silence of a feather yesterday, nine Republicans broke with their iron-fisted party to put country first, and voted to send Rep. Dennis Kucinich's article of impeachment HR 1345 to the Judiciary, where Chairman John Conyers will hold a hearings on abuses of power by the Bush administration, according to the Congressional Quaterly's CQToday. The final vote was: Yea 238 - Nay 180.
The nine Republicans are:
Congressman Kevin Brady (TX), Congressman Wayne Gilchrest (MD), Congressman Walter B. Jones (NC), Congressman Don Manzullo (IL), Congressman Tim Murphy (PA), Congressman Ron Paul (TX), Congressman Dave Reichert (WA), Congressman Christopher Shays (CT)
One of the Republicans, Walter Jones, represents Camp LeJeune in North Carolina, one of the largest Marine bases in the country, and one which has borne heavily the sacrifice of the Iraq War.

How to spot a liar- Not necessarily off topic.
"One of the biggest myths about body language is the belief that eye contact, or lack of it, exposes a liar, says Michael Wheeler, a professor at Harvard Business School and an expert on negotiation tactics.
Even when presented with psychological evidence to the contrary, many of us still suspect that liars out themselves by averting their eyes. Says Wheeler, "It's very hard to surrender the belief that eye contact is a test of character."
Far more reliable than eye contact is tone of voice. With the exception of sociopaths, who are expert liars, most people sound tense, their voices highly pitched, when they fib.
However, don't confuse voice tone with verbal fumbling. People who are telling the truth tend to stumble over their words and have more imperfections in their speech. That comes from spontaneity, not nervous deceit. Studies show that liars tell less compelling accounts with fewer gestures than those who are telling the truth."

Vote with your wallet
If you want to see real "change you can believe in", send 5, 10 or 20 bucks to each of the nine reps. who voted. If enough people contribute to heroic actions like this, lo and behold a miracle would happen; truth, justice and the American way could finally get some traction because those that do the right thing would be immediatley rewarded, empowered and encouraged to do it again.
..and do NOT forget a
..and do NOT forget a donation to Kucinich. He deserves our support SO much..even if he IS a Democrat and in favor of strange domestic policies. He is a true Patriot and has guts and incredible persistence.
might want to reconsider
might want to reconsider that seeing how he voted YES on the housing bailout.

Change You Can Believe In
Great idea.
Send coins. They'll get the message.
UPDATE:
It seems they're not getting that message loud and clear enough. Earmark 2 cents ( 1982 pennies) of any contribution for his support for elimination of the Fed that will be monetizing this, and all bailouts.
Tell him ( and here I mean let him have your full 2 cents worth) he may need to report this contribution as 5 cents (its real value); but if he doesn't report until the end of the quarter, he may have to report 10 cents as matters get more out of control thanks to the rampage which follows monetary promiscuity.
Let's give our liberal friends a hand when they are constructive and the praise is due.... and let's engage them constructively and lend them a hand in understanding.

Thanks for posting this....
I was needing a little shot of good news.
And as I read the article I realized that MY rep voted for this. I am shocked and amazed....And so very proud of him. Not sure what brought this about from him, but I'm thrilled. I even sent him a note thanking him for his vote.

Errr...does anyone realize
Errr...does anyone realize who will be President if Bush is impeached? If impeachment should happen to anyone it probably should be Cheney actually. Ideally you wanna impeach both. It's probably a worse world to impeach Bush and give Satan the power directly.
Let's get Cheney

Can someone link to the how people voted on this?
Isn't it a thomas.gov or something. Did a bunch of Google searches, but couldn't find...
How they voted.....
You can go to the Office of the Clerk here.....http://clerk.house.gov/floorsummary/floor.html
Click on the day you want and then look for the Roll number on the issue you want to see. There are links to the bills, sponsors and related bills there too. The daily summary on the House Floor is updated every few minutes. Hope this helps.

as much as I like dennis for what he is doing here I still can not toot his horn for all the socialist economic crap he has voted for!
Wrap you brain around this: Good people, taught lies from birth
Maybe I am mistaken, and you have been fighting this battle your whole life - there are a few people like that out there. MOST of us got hooked into some lie, or set of lies. MOST of us have "awakened" from MOST of the lies we believed for a long, long time. MOST of us probably still believe something we ought not, or do not believe something we should. We have ALL been victims of misinformation and disinformation campaigns laced with ritual mockery.
Those "awful liberals" are people who love animals and want us to be kind to them. They think the earth is in danger and want to protect it. They see hungry people and want to help feed them. THEY HAVE GOOD HEARTS. They simply bought a different set of lies than you.
Have you examined your brain-washing lately? It should be daily practice.

Dennis isn't the type of statesman that got us into this mess. He has his progressive constituency to address, so we can't expect him to articulate all of our concerns, but I'll take integrity over polemics any day. Men of his caliber would make room for our views to see the light of day. I'll take those odds.
Other than Ron Paul, I can't think of any current Congressman who I would be more inclined to vote for than Dennis Kucinich.

Sierra, you don't like
Sierra, you don't like Dennis?
its not that I don't like
its not that I don't like him I do.. but if your going to be a US senator or Congressmen you can't be a person for liberty in one area and a socialist in another.. the most important thing you need out of your congressmen honesty in money, economics, and not voting for welfare! then next I would put foreign relations ... basically you follow the Constitution ALL time.. not just when it is Convenient to get a vote! Now my question is this?? Clinton should have been impeached for much more than his zipper! he is guilty of Treason in the highest degree! did Kucinich vote to impeach him?? I hope he has wanted to impeach both of them .. that shows he has some honesty! if he is just voting to impeach bush as a tit for tat thats wrong! as much as I dislike Bush because he is also guilty of treason doing whats best for the country and not party is whats right!
and again his voting record as far as social entitlements etc is atrocious!
as for me and my home, we shall worship the LORD
In a nut shell
I had considered myself reasonably well informed, but in light of your visceral reaction to my impressions of the merits of Dennis Kucinich, I realized I hadn’t done sufficient research of his positions to advocate support for him. Your posts give me no substantive clue, other than what I already knew: He’s a Democrat who supports social programs. Accordingly, I looked into things further and found, as I expected, many policy positions counter to the libertarian approach I am convinced would be superior, but I found nothing that makes me regret my statement that ‘ I can think of no other current Congressman, other than Ron Paul, who I would be more inclined to vote for than Dennis Kucinich’. In fact, I found more reasons for confidence in my favorable impressions of the man.
I won’t turn this into a thread promoting Kucinich as a candidate, but since you seem to like flip, snappy self assured conclusions, I thought I’d share this with you. ( I hope this doesn’t go into too much detail and explanation for your tastes):
http://youtube.com/watch?...
By the way, since you are not much into research, let me help you out with what I found about Kucinich’s voting record regarding Clinton’s impeachment. Kucinich was new to Congress, having been elected in 1996. Nevertheless, he voted for the resolution calling for an investigation into President Bill Clinton's role in the Monica Lewinsky scandal, while most of his party opposed this resolution. Kucinich eventually voted against the impeachment of Clinton.
P.S. I'm probably exhibiting too much impatience here, and snarling because it seems too many of us still cling to the Rush, Hannity, O'Reilly style of smug sound bites poking at potential allies. Dennis would be the type of person we would want leading his constituency. And his constituency would be our allies before most of those who remain Rush's, Hannity's and O'Reilly's audience. Assuming we have a point to make, why would we want to make it in a way that all but guarantees the audience of unconverted will be repulsed from listening ?
Dennis' Constituency
Let's come to Dennis' side with a generous spirit.

I didn't want anyone to miss this.
My Rep:
My Rep. Congressman Roscoe Bartlett, 6th district MD. Will be hearing from me for not being on this list. I just got a (form) letter from his office today thanking me for my concern over internet issues.... blah blah blah.....
But he refuses to send me an answer to my request for his opinion of the petition for redress I gave him last month. I want to research and make sure I have my facts straight before giving him more grief over this, but he will surely be very familiar with my name, and sick of hearing from me before too long.

The Lord bless you Mr. Kucinich, and boy was that a mouthful in just one minute. This criminal in our White House is going one day to the Big House.
Doubting Thomas, a few more months will prove you wrong. It is not going to be a pretty fixing of our nation, but we will fix it and get it rolling again, and the proof is that we have too many people who love freedom to ever let anyone, under any circumstances take it away. They will meet their doom if they dare. You will see.
I have a feeling:
That he will be in his South American compound long before they get a chance to put him in the big house. But it sure would be great to see.

I agree, and so should Kucinich

Kucinich Stands Tall
Ron Paul/Jesse Ventura 2012
So Ron Paul was tired after running in 2008. The way I see it, with many people having their eyes now open, we should be able to spread the word for Ron Paul and make it easier for him.
How awesome would a Ron Paul, Jesse Ventura in 2012. I doubt the media could ignore that combination. Paul is the lovable easy going man, while Ventura is the rough tough balance to Paul, not to mention former governor of Minnesota, retired professional wrestler. Ventura has similar views and was interested in running as president, but understood it was too late.
Even if Ron Paul only served one term, I believe he could do a great deal of good if he was elected president in 2012. Let the democrats make a big mess, its time for a revolution.
