Against a breathtaking backdrop of snow-capped buttes in Sedona, Ariz., near his vacation home, McCain announced he was suspending his campaign -- holding onto his 1231 delegates but effectively ceding the Republican nomination to Texas Congressman Ron Paul.
“I am no longer an active candidate for my party’s nomination for president,I am tired of politics and want to enjoy time with my family” said the Arizona senator, whose unorthodox campaign tactics and bold persona helped him win seventeen primaries but later led to his undoing. “I hoped our campaign would be a force for change in the Republican Party, and I believe we have indeed set a course that will ultimately prevail in making our party as big as the country we serve.”
McCain did not endorse Ron Paul, indicating that he was waiting until Paul embraces the senator’s effort to reform the nation’s system of campaign financing. He also ruled out a third-party bid.
McCain mentioned reading Ron Paul's new bestseller book Revolution a Manifesto which according to his words "brought me closer to Jesus Christ"
Not all supporters agreed with McCain's choice.
There was a crowd of 4 people holding signs and chanting "stay with us,stay with us" McCain in his usual maverick fashion showed them the finger.

Some people on this board will only see what they wish and will be sending the message of McCain quitting to everyone thus starting one more rumor that all of us have to deal with, making us the bad guys.
Hopefully everyone will realize it is not for real in todays campaign. McCain would never quit, he thinks he is going to be our next "KING".

McCain should drop out- he wasn't born a US citizen and he broke his own campaign finance laws, even vietnam veterans don't want him as a president.
This small amount of propaganda is nothing compared to the massive amount we're deluged with every day.

Most of us are aware McInsane may drop out every moment ! So I really felt rather let down when I realized it was a hoax. Think on the DP as a ship on the ocean with a crew desparate for reaching the shore; and you cry "Land" just to wake the crew up. An unnerved crewmember (holbrook? Granny?)may throw you over board some day!
