NV GOP Convention Update

According to a report I heard on KKOH Radio, Reno, the NV GOP didn't get enough RSVPs to hold their reconvene on July 26th, so they are going to appoint delegates. On KKOH they stated that the convention was recessed....not because of the time limit (which was their excuse at the time of recessing the Convention)...but because some Ron Paul supporters didn't like the voting rules.
This report turned the tables! That's what they didn't like...that we, legally and by 2/3rd vote changed the rule and that nominations needed to come from the floor, not some pre-arranged slate as created by a Nominating Committee.
I am so glad I got to be a delegate and attend the second day of the meeting hosted by Wayne Terhune and chaired by Mike Weber where we elected delegates and completed the convention. As many of us have thought, they never intended to reconvene. My guess is that they had a plan long ago and those names have already been submitted. Some delegates seemed so sure they were going and Zac Moyle said they had already made all reservations for the NV delegates. I guess Sue Lowden got herself in a pickle once before and knows she can get away with it...but if I were her, I wouldn't be so sure of it this time. What was done on June 28th was legal.
More GOP shenanigans...and I hope this time they do not get away with it. Onward!

They were not going to reconvene and to just appoint delegates is illegal!
Hopefully Sue Lowden sees how much she has humiliated herself and the party and steps down.

Yee-app; we knew they wouldn't actually reconvene, not when they announced the "option" of doing mail-ins and simply electing whoever suited their fancy as delegates.
And now, of course, they don't need to. :D

And their acts were very transparent all along and this is what we expected. I did notice there was no mention of the "mail-in ballot" which they added to the questionaire to dilute the number who said they would come to the July 26th date. They had further diluted it by asking for $35 additional and also for saying it was because they needed further security...indicating that if you come, it might be "rowdy" ...violent, whatever. I can say that other than one county chair who turned up and walked the aisles obviously counting the number of people present, young child in hand, it was a very civil and well-run meeting. All motions, voting were completely done in a parlimentarian and open manner. I intend to be writing to the State "leadership" stating my strong opposition to their acts...yet again another time...and also to the RNC in DC. I feel like our Party was hi-jacked some years ago while we were all complacently sleeping. Beware, we waken.
