isn't that the same thing as "Neighborhood Watch" (crime prevention tactic) used to convince people they are empowered to help take a bite out of crime? It sounds good on the surface but in the hands of our "leaders" it is a tool to quicken our slow progression into commonism, con U nism, communitarianism

President Obama is calling on economic experts to discuss the first steps toward healing a damaged economy as he forms a new administration in the face of a worsening crisis. ACORN is not going to have many roots left once everyone figures out what they're up to. President Obama hasn't disclosed just how close he is to this organization, but it is known they have ties to John Podesta, his transition team chief. The group, along with the Center for Responsible Lending, along with protesting payday loans (quite the hypocrisy) has taken to occupying foreclosed homes that are owned by lower income people. Remember ACORN lobbied so hard to make companies lend subprime mortgages. They claim their acts of trespassing are a form of social protest, protesting the foreclosure of loans on people who can't pay them. Not an ACORN of knowledge in their platform.

I predicted this. Call it what you will, it's going to be no more than another Hitler-Jugend, another Hitler Youth Corps. It doesn't take an MIT grad to envision exactly the make-up of this group of elite gun-toting thugs. They will be the HS drop-out bullies who will swagger around harrassing (at the very least) honest American citizens. Prime your muskets out there!

Tells me this is necessary to control the gang problem we have here in the US and get rid of the guns and gun culture. I though that was what the police we for? Anyway, it and the other pieces of the plan will provide employment for youth who otherwise wouldn't have a job.

I believe that this article about Hugo Chavez establishing neighborhood militias in Venezuela sheds light on what Obama is planning. Before Chavez came to power Fidel Castro had similar neighborhood organizations to enforce his regime for many years.

There has been some discussion over who Obama would be like. Some have said he would be another FDR. I wonder if he could be our Hugo Chavez.

What this looks like is an attempt to take our 2nd amendment citizen's defense rights and bring them directly under federal control, down to the neighborhood level. This would of course also negate the authority of state and city law and order powers.

All the other State Constitutions have similar clause in them.

We all ready have a State by State civilian security force know as the Militia, the problem is that it wasn’t created by the Federal Government so they can’t Control It.

I sent my Mom some clips from this thread regarding Obama's Hitler Youth-like plans. Mom was born here in the US, but went back as a small girl with her folks to visit. She keeps close contact with family over there. Most of the relatives she mentions here live in the US since just after WW2. I hope you Paulers don't mind me sharing some personal family stuff....just a different perspective from a senior that's lived through some of it, perhaps.:

Interesting articles....something the writers overlook....some of those things were "German Culture" BEFORE Hitler's rules for girls.....it was customary for parents to send a daughter to the city to stay with a Jewish family and learn how to sew...mostly..plus cook, and all thsoe things.....country women had lots of children and short of time.....when my mother went back in 1934-35 and visited the family in Berlin where she lived....they were told "you shouldn't be here"....don't you know? And of course...they didn't...information did not travel then as quickly as now. They married in 1923 and came to the States in 1926.....so they really were not aware of changes until we went for 3 months for Christmas, wedding and visits. I do remember being with adults watching "Hitler Youth" marching in this little village of my grandparents and the adults saying (this is not right). I really didn't know what they were talking about....it was just "boy scouts" type by all appearances.

There were a lot of things that changed in those early years under Hitler's rule....but it really didn't materialize until he went in ....in 1933 I believe. So, I question the fervor of some of these writers....time as a way of changing the writing of history. All I ever hear about the Jews and the Holocaust....strange hardly anyone mentions....gays, gypsies, mentally ill and physically deformed,. they, too, died. Just the Jews think they were persecuted? When "security groups" also went in....soldiers ...they committed terrible crimes agains EVERYONE. A cousin was shot to death...an uncle shot to death, Isolde was shot in the back, but survived. Women and even pregnant women who hid in hay wagons were killed...Russians ran sabers into the hay to kill anything within! Karl knew those stories..does he today? Probably....Alfred prefers not to "think" about the bad times because of his heart condition.

Why did my father's parents get put into the barn to live when Russians put Poles into the house..and the Grandfather died when he went where animals were to urinate and he died there of pneumonia? Grandmother died of reaction to a shot that all fleeing people got. My mother's mother died walking to North Sea to flee to Denmark..a grandchild died along the way, also. There are terrible stories from that time.

Uncle Max and Erna (with Isolde and Ingrid) lived in Berlin when he was with the police...he was sent to bombed outcities to help...fire bombs incinerated innocent people ...the heat sucked them into the fire....I only wish I had that packet of letters that my mother received after the war with all the stories of what they went through...I never found them..
The militia or whatever they would be called is a terrible idea...people today have no regard for anyone else and look at what Priests do...policemen...teachers...how about the Clintons???? This IS hell....we are living in it. When I read the papers or watch the news....thats what I think.

many had already warned americans that martial law is upon you. i cannot add more to this.
what i can do is to tell you how martial law happened to our country, a real situation in order to add to your preparedness.

Our country too had its CIVILIAN HOME DEFENSE FORCE-CHDF. This is, what i think will be the equivalent to your national civilian security force.

this is a powerful tool of suppressing dissent. why?

1. if you have a military entity policing your "state" or county, then this force is alien and will easily be identifiable psychologically as "occupiers". if civilian personnel were assigned, it will lessen the "impact" on the people as they are not perceived outright as being militarized or there is an occupying force;
ACCEPTANCE IS EASIER/RESISTANCE IS NOT IMMEDIATE

2. the most preferred civilians are those within the community too. the deputized blah blah blah is the best way because there is an "air" of still being "sucure" to the community.the people will accept it and will even be psychologically turned to the viewpoint that they are being defended by this setup. gradually, the dependence will take root.

Today's youth are drawn to public service because they are told that participation in these things is a prerequisite to getting into a decent college, and further employment. universities are pushing "service learning"

Now, performing public service is a good thing, I believe we have a moral responsibility to individually help our fellow man, but, Obama does not want you to serve the public, he wants you to serve the government.

They can use this department to come up with reasons to take away our guns, the internet, etc.

Quite a few of us from IU Students for Ron Paul attended a speech by Stephen Flynn a young CFR guy who was brought in by IU to lecture to the students. He proposes to make homeland security more like the Federal Reserve, no joke!, because, in his view, Congress is not capable of making the tough decisions necessary for protecting the homeland. The sneaky part is that he says all of the "right" things; he is critical of Bush and the "War on Terror." However, he compartmentalizes everything so that criticism of our foreign policy doesn't seem to apply to his ideas. He is interested in efficiency.
