Nevada Delegate invited to teach NVGOP about the NAU, NAFTA, and the SPP.

Yes it's true! We are very fortunate in Washoe County (Reno) to have Heidi Smith as our County Chair. She has been very fair to our campaign and to every individual involved in our state election process, regardless of their choice of candidate. She and I have been discussing the possibility of developing a Voter Education Program for members of the NVGOP to primarily address important political issues in a straight-forward manner.
Last night I was asked to give a brief presentation about the NAU, NAFTA, and the SPP to the Washoe County Central Committee. I had also prepared and was allowed to distribute a professionally designed 7-page detailed hand-out about the creation and development of these various treaties, unions, and partnerships and how they will effect our lives and freedoms. One paragraph read:
"The fact that the SPP is NOT subject to Congressional oversight or approval is a matter of great concern that must be corrected immediately. If these "Executive Partnerships" are truly in the best interests of the citizens then the construction and adoption of these policies MUST be conducted in an open process with the full participation and representation of all interested parties. The reality is that we live in an age of assimilation and that Trade Bloc's, Agreements, Unions, etc., are now part of global economics and we must position ourselves accordingly, but we can do it in a way that is representative of our American Freedoms of civil participation and mutual benefit."
More than 60 hand-outs were distributed and people were asking for more. I received an email from Heidi today that stated: "It was wonderful to have you speak last night. I was amazed at how many didn't know about it and were very interested. Thank you for all the work you did, I am glad we got the information out." The good news is that Heidi is our incoming State Chairperson so we hope to continue to grow and develop this program over the next two years.
THIS is how we will effect change and influence policy within the party here in Nevada... and across the nation.

Let me know as we are assembling a list of topics/subjects to investigate. We hope to make an official announcement later this week about the program but we're waiting to see how the dust settles after the Judge's decision on Friday. Stay tuned.

Bumping this because the time is here .... I encourage all of us to join some local clubs & be in position to start spreading this education. One on one is nice and most effective. However, people are starting to ask questions and we are the ones that have the knowledge to spread this info.

...and thank you Canada for all your hard work to expose the SPP for what it really is... an executive charter for multinational corporations (basically, a group of gangs who exploit their neighborhoods). We in the United States can learn a great deal from the example Canada has set in organizing it's resources against the corporate takeover of their nation.

I'm revising it for internet use and adding several more pages of reference material and I want to coordinate with the County Chair to get her sponsorship before it is distributed. I hope to include a brief interview where she encourages other County Chairs to initiate their own Voter Education Programs, thus making it much easier for you and others to approach your local representatives.
I will post it for anyone to use when it's finished. I try to present both sides of the issue fairly because all you have to do is let intelligent people discover for themselves exactly what is contained in these agreements and they usually come to the same conclusion... that this is not in our best interests and that nobody's watching the store... except multinational corporations.

...but first let's use it to re-educate the GOP and advance our message in a fair and balanced way. We can win a large number of Delegates over time by continuing to provide good information on a regular basis.

Trying to make it the next topic
...but the Chair wants to focus on water as our County Water District is under final negotiation to be long-term leased to Goldman Sachs (what do they have to do with water management?). The Director just resigned this week in protest as she will have nothing to do with this transaction as Goldman Sachs will be unregulated and free to establish their own determination of the fair market value for OUR water.
Not to worry. Once we set up our Reference Library on the party website I can post information on a regular basis and hopefully send out emails to inform party members of the update and direct them back to the Reference Library.

I would love it if the Campaign for Liberty would offer to teach people (have seminars) public speaking and all that it would encompass. I need a little guidance and a format to get started. It would give me the confidence I need to step-up, on to the soapbox. I believe this could prepare us for situations like yours, in Nevada. From there, it may lead more of us into seeking public office.We just need someone to hold our hands (for a minute) and show us the ropes. Some mentors if you will.
That's our goal
...to develop a program that can be expanded throughout the party. We plan on keeping it simple and producing training videos to ensure efficient and consistent instruction on how best to present each of these "controversial" subjects to the audience. It's an educational platform... not a political one as my goal is to win delegates by developing an informed electorate.

One person stood up and began to say something in defense of NAFTA and several people including the Chairperson immediately shut him down and the rest of the attendees listened without interruption. All the literature was taken with several requests for more.
We hope to develop a program that addresses a different topic every month with the information being posted on the party website and sent in emails to ALL registered Republicans in the state. It will be part of an overall strategy to bring the party together through an educational platform. Eventually, I would also like to produce a monthly publication for national distribution throughout the party... but one step at a time and we will evolve the program as we go.

...to learn, teach, and lead by example. Package and present your information in a simple, easy-to-follow format so that others may use these materials to enlighten even more American's about our current state of affairs. Remember how you felt as you were discovering for the first time that our elected officials do not always act or vote in the best interests of it's citizens... it hurt's and it takes a little time to soak in so try not to force this information down their throats (like the govt does to us), but introduce it and let it digest. As people begin to accept the reality that all is not as it seems they often become angry and very committed to learning more, so simply plant the seeds of knowledge and then tend your crops with healthy nutrients (they already get more than enough fertilizer).

...if we all had learning opportunities of what is going on with the issues everyone would be better informed. At my meetings all we talk about is old business/new business never the issues and how it impacts us. People just go along without really knowing.

That describes last nights meeting as well, they didn't even address the convention issue except to say that there will be no state convention and the delegates will be selected by Executive Committee... how embarrassing for them... and very sad for us... but Nevada ain't done fightin' yet and remember we have everything on video... there's lot's and lot's of evidence. Nevada is very independent
...and we become proactive when we think we're being hustled. We stopped the Synergy Coal Plant from opening a few years back after it was discovered they had been buying up all the water rights to the neighboring properties. Thousand of acres of ranch and rangeland were now without their water rights as the megacorp gobbled up all the resources in the name of progress... but not anymore as the people came together and changed the direction of the project.
