Ron Paul vs. Bob Barr on Fannie/Freddie
Appearing on Glenn Beck last night, Ron Paul said that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac should be allowed to fail. Unlike Libertarian presidential candidate Bob Barr, who says Congress should provide a “temporary line of credit” to boost the share price of the publicly traded stock — and give the Fed more “oversight” over the housing industry — the Republican congressman said Congress should eliminate the GSEs’ implied line of credit to the Treasury and allow the companies to be liquidated.
Last week, Bob Barr failed to attend Ron Paul’s Revolution March in D.C., allowing Chuck Baldwin to share the stage with Paul and receive a rousing ovation from the more than 5,000 in attendance.

backflip
Bob Barr has recently done a very quick backflip on global warming as well.... not good.
he is going to totally justify everyone's skepticism (not to say outright loathing here) at this rate.
Although Paul's method is
Although Paul's method is cleaner and more philosophically correct, I believe Barr's method would have the same result (if followed through on) without quite as much bloodshed.
Barr would back them just long enough for them to become stablized, and then completely privatize them. That could be the better approach, if it would keep a dozen other banks from falling at the same time.
whatever
I cannot trust Barr at all. I'm not even 100% about Baldwin but he's certianly closer to my president than Barr or anyone else.
Let's get G Edward Griffin next time around! I trust him as much as my president Ron Paul
You left out one tiny little detail....
Bob Barr has called for Privatizing Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac - article available here -

I would have to disagree with barr
Though I like how you just happened to also mention that he wasn't at the D.C. rally.
I'll probably still vote for him.

Check the Newsweek article
Not to get in to a Barr/Baldwin/Other Candidate discussion, but to focus on the issue itself, take a look at today's Newsweek article re: Fanny and Freddie referenced here. Hopefully, it can be used by us as a nice eye-opener for MSM-addicted friends and family.
I will not be voting for
I will not be voting for Barr. I like Chuck Baldwin a lot better. Still haven't given up on Ron Paul though. Maybe a miracle will happen.
