UPDATE: NV State Delegate Suit vs. Party Moves Forward

RENO, NV, July 21, 2008—Nevada State Republican delegates filed a complaint in Nevada Second District Court late last week, contending that the Nevada Republican Executive Committee’s decision to appoint national delegates is in violation of State law NRS 293. Case number CV08-01978 and has been assigned.

“State law is clear. NRS 293 states that a convention must be held. The State Executive Committee has determined, following no rules or bylaws, that it does not need to complete the business of the convention and they cite some vague lack of interest on the part of the delegates,” said Wayne Terhune, a local Republican activist. “However, there was clearly a lot of interest on April 26th, when the Party walked out of the convention and turned the lights out on close to 1400 state delegates.”

The complaint alleges that the State Executive Committee’s decision is in violation of NRS 293, which states: “In addition to such powers granted it, the state convention shall select the necessary delegates and alternates to the national convention of the party”. The complaint has been filed by local attorney Mark Goodman on behalf of several Nevada State Republican delegates.

“The actions of the State Party have taken away the voice of every state delegate, the grassroots of the Republican party,” said Terhune. “Over a thousand delegates attended the convention in April, and the State Executive party officials are attempting to silence all of them. My Republican party states that it is the party of law and order. Why has the executive committee of the state party decided to break the law?”

Do you have a link so that we can digg it?

Every little bit helps. . .

please feel free to re-post the press release wherever. The more press we can get on this, the better.

Look for more updates soon :)

I am so glad...

there's good people out there...keep us up-to-date, please...

Nevada's has it's own "Good Doctor"

Dr. Wayne and the entire Terhune family has taken the reins of the movement in Nevada and charged forward with intelligence, direction, and organization. This is all being conducted in an open and lawful manner with the full participation of any Nevada State Delegate who wishes to be included in the delegate selection process.

Go Nevada Go!

The Terhunes are indeed an inspiration to us all

I also heard a short clip on KKOH radio news this morning which quoted Mike Weber (who's done some terrific work on our behalf). There are good things happening here in Nevada and shows us that anything is possible. I'm so pleased to see this action being taken. Our "leadership" has let us down terribly and we are fortunate to have patriots who know the value of truth and transparency.

IT'S DOABLE

Mike Weber and Heidi Smith have both been fair and honest.

Mike has represented the truth since the beginning of the State Convention at great cost to his political career(maybe?) and Heidi is the County Chair in Washoe County(Reno) and incoming State Chair who has been absolutely fair to every delegate, no matter their candidate.

Neither one is a Ron Paul Supporter but both have stood for the rights of every one of us. Thank you.

Awsome....

I didn't know that non-RP GOP'ers could be so fair. We've seen absolutely no example of that in my area.

Glad to know that there are a few spots where the party is still honest! Even better to know that their incoming State Chair is one of the good guys (gals).

Keep up the great work in Nevada!!!!

Agreed....bump for Heidi Smith

IT'S DOABLE
