I'm still shaking down my new computer. The old one was 12 years old, so it'll take some time to train the new one.

Right now I'm having cookie problems and seem to be annonymous everywhere.

Thanks for making it and thanks to the guest that have posted so far. I remember my fist post it was very scary. I lurked for about a month before I finally posted on this site. I just knew someone was going to rip my grammar or laugh at my post. It actually was even worse than that my fist 4 or 5 post sunk like a rock to the bottom of the page without even getting a response. So I went into other threads and responded there instead. I couldn't help myself I had finally reached a point I had to talk to somebody or I thought I was going to explode. I have had enough of the destroying of my country and realize these people never stop taking unless confronted by someone or something else. After watching one small clip of Ron Paul I knew I would vote for him. I watched this 5 min clip and walked out of my bedroom and looked at my daughter and said "I know who I'm going to vote for. This was over a year ago. Nobody was even really thinking about politics at that point. I showed her the clip and we have been active every since we both became delegates to our state convention and we where both contested. Great start for my daughter in the party system huh. The number one thing I think I have gotten from this site is the realization of how we have all been polluted by propaganda be it in school, from TV, or from the government. I am also amazed at how little what we learn from our own families is looked upon with as bad thing today. They always talk about how important the family is but our society is actually in the process of making family and family teaching an ugly word. I am so sick of the political correctness of this world. I am amazed at how we have lost the gift of gab. Its like everyone has been made to be afraid of small talk. You know just talking without really having solved any problems but getting to know someone and how they feel. Some people think this divides I actually think if two people can hear each other out they actually become much closer and know where each side stands. I also realize the importance of a teaching my family taught me at a young age. Its called shaking hands. It’s amazing to me how smart our parents become as we get older. The key is when we have debate at the end we should always remember to shake hands and show the other person respect as an individual. Also I have realized after I leave a good debate on this forum I always spend some time looking at where my belief system comes from and I use the other persons take on it to probe my own belief with what they have said. I think it is important for me to look through history and see if these same kinds of people have tampered with my belief system. I am always looking to see if they have duped any of my ancestors. Sure I keep what I have been taught as a core but I also realize that being duped can happen to anyone. Even the people of today who are the most learned of all generations (or are we?). I’m glade to meet all the new brave souls who have decided to bust out of their shells and make their voice heard. It is indeed a sweat sound and has been a blessing to my heart. I appreciate you all. Even those of you who are still watching from the shell we love you and look forward to your emergence any day. Don’t wait to long speak up while you still can.

I've been a member for a while, but I believe this is my first post. I would like to thank you all for your hard work and dedication to a noble cause. Personally, I don't post because I don't believe in government. Anything done through the threat of force is immoral. Governments are run by and for the rich at the expense of the poor. They have a ten-thousand year plus track record of trampling individual rights, stealing resources, and committing genocide. War is the health of the state. I believe if you concede that there is even a need for government you've already lost. America is an excellent example. It is arguably the most anti-government government ever created and look how little time it took for it to crumble.

That being said, if I put aside my moral objections to the use of force, I agree with Libertarians and Minarchists almost 100%. So if you guys manage to pull this off, I'd be estatic. I would still disagree with you about the need for government, but just being able to have that debate in the society you guys would create would be such a beautiful thing that I think we'd be able to get along. : ) Good luck! I'm planning on giving you guys a hand from time to time.

Individually, I'm hoping to create the new in the shell of the old. We first need to replace their institutions with voluntary cooperative ones. Once this infastructure is established, we can exercise the most potent weapon we the people posses. A government is simply an institution which people have a habit of following. If we all pretended government didn't exist, it would cease to. No legislation or weapons needed. I'm convinced this is the only way we will possibly be able to achieve liberty once again. Their guns are just too big this time. Think of it as a strike.

I stop in almost everyday to see whats new. I love this site but I don't log in or post often. : )

I love the DP and all of you regulars; but I don't have time even to read all of the articles and posts, and seldom spare the time to comment when many of you already express thoughts similar to mine. This is a great site, thanks to all for your generosity and good spirit.

I had signed off for the night, decided to check this out, and I am glad I did. I am a very cautious, spooked of the internet, older person, and it took me a llooonng time to screw up my courage and try to figure out just HOW to add to the conversation! Which makes me wonder-----if there are any others that could use a little tutorial.
One of my favorite posters is Freedumb--he lurked for a long time, and then picked his moniker and posted. He said he wasn't highly educated, but he added soooo much to discussions, and I was glad he got up the nerve to post.

and DP is the best place on the web to keep up with him. I've been coming here every day for months. The reason why I haven't posted before is because I'm just a redneck hick...ya'll are a lot more articulate than I, so I just read what everybody else has to say. I've told many other RP supporters about DP and they think it's the best place to come to stay informed, also.

I do have one thing I'd like to share tonight, so it's funny that you asked visitors to sign in and contribute. I just watched a very poignant documentary called "The Last Word" by Jesse Quackenbush. It's about the wrongful execution of a mentally retarded Texas man. This video supports the wisdom of Ron Paul's opposition to the death penalty. Add this one to the "must see" list. We Don't Need No Steenkin' 2nd Amendment!

Hello, everyone. I have been a "visitor" for quite sometime now. This is my first time I have ever posted anything on a site and be a part of an online community. My husband and I have been RP supporters since Dec. 07. when we first saw a make-sift sign posted on a telephone poll. It stated "Google Ron Paul". We were curious about who this was. We had NO idea he was running for president. When we arrived home we went online and the rest was history. We were hooked. RP is our hope for the America we want our children to be a part of.

Thank you for "inviting" me to get over my nervousness of being a "first-timer" and joining.

Kudos to you for even noticing. I think more people would be more civil if they knew they were being watched and probably judged from outside the DP inner circle. Not that anybody really cares. But if you are really dedicated to making converts. Some here would have a hard time justifying some of what they produce.

It's like being able to witness a bunch of used car salesmen mocking their clientèle then come out and try to sell you a cheap used car.

What brought me here? Ron Paul brought me here:-) I was at a Chicago street action event and one of the other cats mentioned DP and Ive been a regular since.
