If they expected us to retire quietly from the scene, the political elite are in for a surprise.
Today I am making some very big announcements.
First, from August 31 to September 2 in Minneapolis, we will host a handful of events that will shake the political establishment. Everything will culminate on Tuesday with the official launch of the Campaign for Liberty at the Rally for the Republic.
The Campaign for Liberty will be the largest organization for peace, freedom, the Constitution, and sound money in American history. It will launch in grand fashion with lots of special guests and - if the early television and print inquiries we’ve received are any indication - plenty of media attention.
I would like to personally invite you and your family to join me and thousands of others in Minneapolis for these events and send a message to the Republican Party.
Tickets will go on sale for the Rally for the Republic this Friday, July 25 @ 10AM CST. We want this to be an unforgettable day, so we are holding a ticket bomb all day Friday in the tradition of our famous money bombs. How many seats can we sell on the first day?
In patriotic fashion all tickets will cost $17.76, so you can afford to bring the whole family.

A picket line or protest in front of it might make a fine activity when taking a break from the proceedings.
And if we can provoke the media into covering it - even with a "Look what those Paulite Loonies are up to now!" piece - it will set the stage for getting part of our message across to more of the population.

If not, you might want to get busy looking for accomidations NOW.
I hate to sound crazy, but I went looking for hotel rooms and found that just about everyone is booked solid. Please don't wait to make hotel reservations.....Or you'll be sleeping in your car.
Several have made reference to camping/RV-ing....Sound like a great idea if you've got the gear. I have absolutely no idea how many of those spots are left available.
I would just hate for any of our people to miss the RP event 'cause the neo-cons booked all the rooms for their event.

Great announcement, I'll be there... just need to figure out accomodationsm and travel plans, but I'll be there regardless if I have to sleep in my car or under a Ron Paul sign on a Highway over pass...

Amazing pictures of the Target Center: The full arena can seat up to 20,500! To think we had an estimated half to three quarters of this number at the Revolution March. Aichiwawa, mama...no wonder we had to upscale to the largest arena in Minneapolis. ;-)

ABC News' Z. Byron Wolf reports: Ron Paul is not holding his breath for a speaking slot at the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis/St. Paul in September and he has long planned a day-long shadow convention to give him an arena to expound his limited government mantra.
But, worried about the size of his arena, his new political action group--The Campaign for Liberty--has booked a bigger one.
They'll announce today they've changed from the Williams Arena at the University of Minnesota to the much larger Target Center, seating capacity: 18,000.
Paul's supporters have been undefinable and unknown throughout the election cycle. There are the loud and sometimes rowdy, usually young sign-waving blimp renters, omnipresent in the early primary states during the Republican race. And there is the legion of online supporters, contributing millions online and creating what Paul hopes will be a lasting grassroots framework.
But there were not (on balance) many voters for Paul, who while he stayed in the race against Sen. McCain longer than any of his GOP rivals, has very few Republican delegates.
So Paul's shadow convention (speakers include anti-tax crusader Grover Norquist, shaggy haired cable personality Tucker Carlson, and Barry Goldwater Jr.,) will be a test of his new group's staying power and organizational mettle. Supporters have been encouraged to exploit state delegate rules to get appointed to, infiltrate and make themselves known at the national convention before decamping for the Target Center.

Driving up from Chicago on our way out to LA!
My husband and I are moving to LA and we're driving up on the 30th for the events and we can't wait! Unfortunately we have a U-Haul and won't be returning back to Chicago so we can't bring anyone but I'm willing to donate $ for people who want to go but can't afford fuel. Is there a support link somewhere?

Hey, will someone create a link to hotels and camp sites in the area and keep it bumped?
I'll drive there...no way will I ever get in a plane again.
My Malibu gets 40 mpg...with air on.

I just booked a room that's about 20 miles away from downtown 'cause that's the only thing I could find.

Can't hitch a ride....?
Are there no meet ups in your area. If you can get to Orlando you can join us. So far we are renting 2 minivans. But will rent more and caravan up there.We will sleep 4 to a room and split gas. Email me if you are interested. If you belong to a meet up, try to get 6 including you together to rent a minivan for appro. $52/day, split the gas $70 tank full that can take you approx. 350+ miles (rough estimate), and split hotel 3 in a room $100 or less/day.
We traveled to D.C from Orlando. Cost per person $165 (6 in a minivan,split gas and hotel). To go to Minneapolis 6 per minivan, gas, hotel It will cost $240 approx. Arriving Sunday, stay 3 nights and back in Orland Thursday.
The long drives are FUN FUN FUN. We made new friends this way.
I'm so excited!!! This event is going to be great!
Now the real question is, "How many ways can we advertise this event at the grassroots level?". It's our event to make history! Will we let Dr.Paul down and ultimately the country? I hope that I see dozens of threads filled with ideas and action later this afternoon. The DP should be flooded with them! I have a few of my own that I will contribute after work, that is if someone hasn't already done so. Awesome stuff!!!
