HOUSTON -- A Continental Airlines flight carrying seven members of Congress from Houston to Washington was forced to make an emergency landing after it lost cabin pressure Tuesday afternoon.
Flight 458 was bound for Reagan National Airport, but was diverted and landed safely in New Orleans, a spokeswoman for U.S. Rep. Ted Poe told 11 News.
Poe and fellow Congressmen Nick Lampson, Ron Paul, John Carter, Ciro Rodriguez, Solomon Ortiz and Henry Cuellar were aboard the flight, said Poe's press secretary DeeAnn Thigpen. There were 118 people aboard the plane, said Continental spokeswoman Julie King.
No one was hurt, the airline confirmed.
Continental Airlines said the problem was caused by a sudden loss in cabin pressure.

Just to help give a little insight into the rapid cabin depressurization, I'll explain some of the procedures we go through as airline pilots.
First of all, in the airplane I fly, we have an altitude alerter that will sound if the cabin altitude (the pressurization of the cabin makes the body feel as though it is at a lower altitude than it would feel in the unpressurized outside air) raises above 10,000ft. Generally when an airliner is cruising around, the cabin altitude is around 8,000ft. Any number of things could cause a rapid decompression, some of which would be a window blowing out, a door coming unhinged (could be a baggage door or cabin door or any number of other pressurized hatches onboard the aircraft.
So, the cabin suddenly loses its pressurization which makes it impossible for the body to absorb enough oxygen to stay conscious. A lack of oxygen to the brain is called hypoxia. Some of the symptoms are light headedness, dizziness, colors begin to fade to black and white, blue lips and fingernails, loss of consciousness, and possibly death if the exposure is prolonged. For this reason, when the cabin altitude raises above (i think it's 14,000ft) ft, the oxygen masks drop from the ceiling in the passenger cabin. These masks do not form a tight seal around the face so the passengers do not get 100% oxygen, but enough to keep them safe.
In the cockpit we have quick-donning oxygen masks. These masks have to be able to be put on with one hand in 5 seconds or less. We smack our headsets off our heads and grab the oxygen mask by two red tabs. This inflates the headband of the oxygen mask and makes it easy to throw over your head. As soon as the tabs are released, the headband deflates and grips your head tightly, creating a tight seal between the mask and the pilots' face. The pilots breathe 100% oxygen through these masks and have enough oxygen for at least an hour of flight.
We have memory items (procedures that the pilots memorize and do immediately before ever consulting a checklist) that we do for a rapid cabin depressurization. the memory items for the aircraft I fly are as follows:
Crew Oxygen Masks......DON
Crew Communication.....Establish
Emergency Descent.......As Required
If the emergency descent is required, that procedure is:
Cabin Crew.........................Notify
Seat Belt Sign.....................On
Thrust Levers......................Idle
Speed Brakes......................Open
Airspeed..............................250 knots
Landing Gear.......................Down
Minimum Enroute Altitude....Check
After doing those memory items, we go to the checklist to accomplish some less urgent items, we'll declare an emergency with air traffic control, check on the condition of all the people onboard, coordinate with the air traffic controllers to figure out the best place to land and if we need rescue equipment to meet the airplane or not. Once the airplane is back down to an altitude of around 12,000ft, the oxygen masks are no longer needed and the flight is for the most part out of danger.
So, that's about it really. Sorry that was kind of long but figured maybe some people were interested. If there's any questions, let me know. Oh, and really the only injuries anybody may have suffered would be a ruptured eardrum or something along those lines. Not comfortable but not a huge deal either. Funny, this is the crap I have to know as a pilot along with all the everyday stuff that comes with completing a bunch of flights every day yet I'm getting paid $22,000/yr and actually just got laid off. I should have been a garbage man.~~~~

All aboard the two aircraft and two children playing outside the school were killed. The following day, (April 5, 1991), former U.S. Senator from Texas John Tower, also a chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, and of the Iran-Contra investigation, died in a commercial plane crash in Brunswick, Georgia. Also, House Majority Leader Hale Boggs of Louisiana and Representative Nick Begich of Alaska

... there is no reason to be scared of conspiracy theory... all events that are somewhat shady of the truth back in the day probably had some type of "conspiracy" that happened... We just must not be scared of the truth or finding out if the truth is actually what we live in today...

We need to create a money bomb for the Ron Paul Airforce and get the man a jet. What he is doing now is even bigger than running for president and the establishment certainly does not like it one bit. For him to upgrade the convention to the Target center and to hold over three days is BIG!!! You can bet the media cannot and will not ignore this; getting him bumped off before hand would be the perfect set up to end this "thorn in the side" of the NWO. And The Establishment was worried as hell about the Peace movement in the Vietnam era. But the people in the Peace/Anti-war movement were getting discouraged because they believed that no one in power was paying attention to them, but quite the opposite was true, the Peace/Anti-war movement was making big waves and the people in power feared it.
The same is true today, WE are making big waves, and it scares the hell out of the Establishment.
