Mechanics Worked On Plane Prior To Take Off...Delayed Departure For An Hour

Poe told 11 News the flight was about an hour late leaving Houston because of mechanical difficulties with an engine. He said things went downhill from there not long after taking off from Bush Intercontinental Airport.

"Suddenly, we started to descend more rapidly than normal and the oxygen masks came out," Poe said.

The pilots told everyone to fasten their seatbelts.

"There wasn't any talk because a lot of people had their oxygen masks on," according to Poe. "Everyone seemed to be quite calm."

The flight landed about 20 minutes after the scare began.

"You're thinking of everything, of course. You're thinking of all the possibilities," Poe told 11 News. "But the pilots did a great job of getting us down. And when we got down we saw all the fire trucks on the runway, just like in the movies."

For Poe and the others, it was an unforgettable experience.

"It was exciting to say the least," Poe said. "Glad to see that landing gear come down."

This article also states this was the third emergency landing due to cabin pressure loss in the past two days.

on his show today that Ron Paul was suppose to drop a bombshell on the FAA. Had to do with billions of dollars in fraud and all of a sudden the plane is depressurized. Mark Koernke was on the show and wanted to know why military jets weren't deployed at the moment the plane started to descend. His point was with all the terrorist concerns, jets should have been deployed to assist the pilots. I don't know about the validity of their comments, but was wondering if anyone else had more info. or comments on this post?

been killed? It just seems to me that killing someone to prevent them from saying something that will be SHOUTED posthumously is counter-productive. EVERYthing RP says to these clowns is a bombshell because everything they do is outside the Constitution. Im certainly not saying that people DONT want RP silenced- I just think in matters of the hazards of daily living we should maybe talk softly and carry a big stick lest we appear unreasonable. Ask the questions, investigate as we would any close-call to prevent a future occurance and if nothing comes of it accept that and move on...cautiously.

Here’s something else. The glitch didn’t fail. What “failed” was the oxygen masks came down and told everybody to put them on. Had they not come down, no one would have known that cabin pressure had been lost and everyone would have fallen gently asleep including the pilots, air marshalls, et. al. That was what was supposed to happenl. The plane would have then flown on until it ran out of fuel and crashed. Period.
